BMW's new flagship M8 packs the most power they've ever stuffed under the hood, but it's still 100 hp shy of today's Hellcats. However, does that mean it's slower? It's got 2 more drive wheels that the Hellcat and the M8 has a faster gearbox than the Hellcat. Let's see if the BMW can keep up.

Stoplight to stoplight, the M8 would murder the hellcat. Top end would be closer but the M8 would be way more composed at 180+....
I'll take the M8 comp any day than this brick, it walks the hellcat. It's better in everyway. Edit: title should be can the hellcat keep up with the M8

I believe you can put the bmw in 2wd mode and have a bit more fun; I’m sure it’s still more buttoned down overall compared to the hellcat.

I have had 2 Hellcats and 1 Redeye (still have it) and now have an M8 coupe. The M8 can easily take the Hellcat. The Redeye with drag radials will catch the M8 on a drag strip. The launch control to 60 in the M8 takes your breath away. I am not going to compare handling as the M8 will run circles around my Redeye. I love both. Out of control muscle car on some days and comfortable refined missile on other days.
My 3 pedal has pulled an m8 gc once I got 4th in 🥴
Makes no sense when the M5 kicks the hellcat and redeye ass.

M8 has the 4.4 TT V8. Not a 4.0 like Audi or Mercedes. Sick AWD car tho. Looking at one soon. These cars are just wicked.
The M8 comp is MUCH faster than the Hellcat in a quarter and 0 -60. That Hellcat can't come close unless it's at the track.

On the track and roll of course bmw will win, but on a strip and mile strip the Hellcat will win because muscle cars are built for having longer duration of speed in mph while track cars like the BMW are built for acceleration getting faster reactions in curves

NO but in reality, I've done a few videos like this comparing the power/performance you get per dollar between something buttoned up (German) versus something that is, let's be generous and call it "less refined" (Hellcat) The value proposition with the American performance cars is you sacrifice finesse and luxury for unapologetic power and/or speed so you get a much more affordable product

My built 5.7 jeep will smoke that m8. All built internals, stage 3 cam, corsa 3in exhaust, long tube headers,mds delete, mid and resonator delete, and a hellcat supercharger with a e85 tune. Methonal is coming next. I ealk hellcats all day long in a built 5.7 summit
Give the hellcat a hellphant engine, and some fat radials, then its comperible
the BMW M7 has a 12 cylinder engine (more powerful in terms of torque compared with M8)
Man i personally own a 2016 750i xdrive and i find it unbelievable to not see videos of it on yt... ive smoked plenty of high end performance cars scats,cats,458 ferrari,lotus,panamera,audiR8,camaro zl1 and a couple other that im missing i can only imagine what that 760 would do🥴

@@ReginalBronson as in an Alpina? What planet you on if so? The M8 is a 2.5 second 0 to 60mph (100) car and sub 11 second quarter mile. The alpina is nowhere near that. 14 sec quarter mile for the b7. Thats almost 3 seconds slower than the m8

@@2easy007 If someone can afford a car that cost 3 times the other car, that should tell you something. The person that buys the Beamer probably could afford both if they wanted to! The BMW is far and away a more refine and luxurious car and if someone can afford one could easily do a few minor mods if speed was a concern to them!
