  • I grew up poor and in rural SW Missouri with very little experience around other races or cultures. In the 70's my dad would take myself and siblings down to the gulf and bring back fresh shrimp to MO and sell it. On one trip we stopped at a little town in Louisianan for lunch at a place called the Black Bayou. I am a triplet with another brother 13 months younger and here we are, 4 little white boys surround by a very different crowd. The people were so kind and interested in knowing us, the experience, catfish and spaghetti was amazing. Bill's experiences have familiarity with me.
