What if the ROG laptop was used in battery mode right away using it until reaching 15% and then charged for 2 hours then reaching 100% without following the 3 hours charge before first use, will it have bad effect on the gaming performance or bad effect on the battery health of the laptop? Is it okay to not follow the manual of 3 hours charge before first use? Because I did not manage to follow it sadly.

  • For thermal paste, I highly recommend using Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut! 12.5w/mK is one of the highest ratings. It spreads very evenly. In personal tests I have done, it not only performs better than other TIM's, but it is also very effective at lowering core to core temperature differences. This can mean a lot where it comes to thermal throttling, be it CPU or GPU temps. Built in algorithms are based on temperature headroom, so lowering the temps will naturally increase clock speeds, and keep them there for longer periods of time. As for the batteries, yes. If you are using the while plugged in, limit the charge to 80% if possible. This of course comes with a caveat. You should charge it to 100% every so often, and drain the battery completely, then charge to 100% and reset the charge limit back to 80%. This is to insure that the battery doesn't develop any "charge memory" issues, where it it fully charged, but thinks it only has say 70% charge.

    @cmdrclassified@cmdrclassified2 жыл бұрын
    • for the battery charge limit, is it really necessary to have it? and is there any trusted third party software for it? cause apparently i have none of those on my laptop.

    • When on battery power only, I set the CPU Frequency to 80% in Windows Power Plan Settings. It helps the laptop go longer on battery only before needing a charge. Although I notice a difference in how snappy the laptop is, it’s not too much different. It runs cooler and the fans do not need to turn on/spin up as often, saving that battery power for processing by staying on passive cooling only most of the time. This will vary depending upon how good of a heatsink your laptop has. The one in my laptop is pretty good. Razor Blade 15 Base early 2020 model

This will give you greater control over your thermal performance (overclock and undervolt options), allow you to set a more specific performance setting while on battery mode (eg, only use X% of the CPU power and to boost or not boost) and with the help of additional programs, allow you to set your screen to automatically change refresh rate when plugged in or on battery. • TIP: This was personal preference, but HUGE for me. I switched over to the Razer Tartarus keypad rather than use the native laptop keyboard. 1. It's more comfortable and gives me a body symmetry closer to using a main PC, with everything centered rather than one arm forward/crossing middle. 2. I'm not contacting the warmer parts of the laptop. 3. I'm not wearing down the laptop keyboard. Playing FPS games is a lot of stress on that W key.

  • Put some thermal pads between the cooler assembly and the back cover. Will lower the temperatures ALOT, especially with a cooling pad. The downside is, that the surface gets untouchable hot when under only medium load. But because I only use the laptop on battery power on my lap when doing light work, I don't care. And in combination with liquid metal on cpu and gpu, aswell as some insulating paste around the dies for safety, I have 17° lower temperatures on my XPS13 with the 1185G7. It basically runs on Intels max allowed boost level all the time.
