Minecraft: Let's Transform AN OCEAN MONUMENT. It's the last minecraft structure (before 1.13) that I had not transformed yet. So I finally came up with a design I liked and finished the job! I really think this is different to everything else i've made.
I didn't even try to do a tutorial style one on this because it's just SO massive, it took us hours to do the exterior and that was using WE to remove the ocean. If you attempt anything like this - GOOD LUCK!
Feedback is also welcome!

  • I forgot that the prismarine blocks changed color slowly so the time-lapse of the build, at first, looked weird to me.

    • Nope. There are a few structures which look good and when grian tried to "transform" them, he completely ruined them. They are the jungle temple and the interior of the ocean monument.

  • I need more hermitcraft please! Edit: Also I just wanted to say, I love your content (and your cats). You are the reason I've started watching hermitcraft and I'm pretty sure I haven't missed one of your videos in the past 2 years or so. Anyway, keep up the great work.   • This build is also semi griefer-proof. It's submerged in water (TNT-proof) The Elder Guardian (Eternal mining fatigue) The dozens of guardians (it's a natural seek&destroy security system) Unless the griefer has prepared some milk, sponges, and good armor in advance, they are about to have a bad time. By the time they get it all prepared, they might just get bored with the idea of blowing your sea temple up, and they'll simply go find themselves a much easier target.

    • Even if they had milk, that wouldn't matter because elder guardians automatically re-effect players with mining fatigue when it's getting low/has been removed

    • Yeah, that's what I thought of it. The ocean monument is the house of the guardians, a mysterious and giant build in the middle of the ocean, home to a mini boss and it's family. You have to keep that in mind if you want to remake it, it's a underground labyrinth, not a greenhouse- Grian could have just made this a build of it's own, instead of a remake of the ocean monument. Since he made it a entirely different thing.

  • Cool design but I think you’re missing something, the sea temple is a very Greek and Egyptian inspired structure. A bit more of that would be good, plus it should have lots of guardians swimming in and around it, but I really like that design! It’s more like an Atlantic Citadel!

  • Hey Grian! Quick tip: if you ever want to remove blocks faster, get a Haste II beacon, an Efficiency V pickaxe, and go into Survival. You can instantly destroy most blocks, which is strangely faster than Creative mode. Trust me - it’s super helpful.

  • I'd love to see Grian revisit this. I'm currently in the process of clearing out an Ocean Monument in Survival to try doing this, but with copper as a supplement for the Prismarine blocks, sort of like what he's done for the horse tunnel on the HC10 server.
