Skateboarding Down Norwegian Mountain [Dalsnibba]

2023 ж. 4 Шіл.
1 873 787 Рет қаралды

First Video from the resent trip to Norway. This run is from Dalsnibba the top is 1476m high and the view is sick. The skating was really nice as well, only did one run while filming so didn’t get a super good run and I hit the line where the road changes so the wheel got stuck and made the board flip.
Big thanks to @abbeabbe96 and @Hussain_Nas for filming and @pederhsx and Sebastian berglund for closeting the road.
More videos coming soon…

How do people even prepare for things like this, at comparable speeds? Like what's the gradual build up before tackling a whole freaking mountain with curves that will kill you if you mess up?

    @SeraphimDragon@SeraphimDragon5 ай бұрын
    • It’s basically just start to learn how to skate on flat ground then just pick a hill and start trying, after a while you realize that most crashes aren’t that bad it hurts a little but just get back on the board and try again. And then build up whit bigger hills and after a while the size of the hill is not a factor more then it gives you more hill to skate

    • oh! there's this anime film called Akira where the main character does a slide away from the camera on his motorbike-a lot of movies and animated stuff reference the scene, you might've seen it before without knowing. • That looked like a lot of fun. I've often wondered how skateboarders bled off speed before tight corners. How long does it usually take for one to confidently learn that technique?

    @paulgrey8028@paulgrey802810 ай бұрын
    • It’s hard to say because everyone learns at different speeds but I would say half a year to a year to start getting a hang of basic slides. I have been skating downhill for about 4 years now and the first 1 to 2 years was basically just going straight and learning to stop so I could go outside of Stockholm to one of our 2 actual hills.

  • this video is good because the sounds of the wind, skateboard, are muted (not overwhelming). This lets the calm music set the perfect ambience! • Thanks a lot mate!!! Yeah I was going for a more chill vibe in this video, I think if you have more sound from the wind you get a better feeling for the speed. @azhiazim@azhiazim10 ай бұрын
    • @@azhiazim we do have a car like 1meter behind whit the camera on, the problem is that the car is speeding up or slowing down to keep the skater in frame so that would not be accurate. But I think a proper gps speedometer might work, I have only used my phone to measure but it sometimes loses connection if there is trees or mountains in the way. I will look into something for sure.
