    • @Father of Peacefull community You could do some proper research yourself. Hinduism isn't and never was one religion. It's unifying elements come from the 1st millennium BCE. The religion of the oldest South Asian civilisations is completely unknown; at the same time, both the Zoroastrians and Jews practiced early versions of their faith. Don't listen to Hindu nationalists. They are more interested in politics than the truth. If you are Hindu, you can be proud of a great and ancient tradition, but the evidence that it's the world's oldest religion is not great.

  • Everything about Angkor is so amazing. This GIANT well planned city _complex_ with controlled waterways was thriving at the same times Europe was still struggling to get itself out of the dark ages. When London had less than 20,000 people living in it, Angkor had 700,000 or more. At one point it was the largest city in the world. And they way it was built with moving pre-cut blocks and then carving them once in place was a simple yet ingenious move. The building of Angkor is on par or greater than that of Rome.

    • Angkor Wat is amazing, but they're using the term "city" rather loosely here. What they're really talking about it a series of settlements and infrastructure- a region, not just one discrete city. They're referring to an area that covers over 500 square miles. That's a huge area that would not be identified as a single city in the pre-industrial area. At its peak, the ancient city of Rome had a population of 1.5-2 million people in an area of around 5 square miles. Constantinople in the 12th Century had around 500,000 people in an area of about 4 square miles. The "Angkor Thom," which is the core area of Ankgor Wat that would be identified as a discrete city by the historic inhabitants, had a population of around 150,000 people in 4 square miles.

    • Not just hinduism, many other ancient architecture still stand strong today. It is not as if people today don't have the knowledge to make structures to last almost forever, they just don't want it to be. Ancient architecture relied too much upon rocks. Making structures out of rocks would be very costly. Earlier there used to be kings and the labour used to be very cheap. Many people used to die making these structures. If someone makes such structures today and labours would die then there will be a court case and definitely a lifetime prison to the builder. Moreover there are more than a billion people in India alone, if every one of these people's house was to be made out of rocks then there would have been a lot of weathering and destruction of forests and ecosystems. It is easy to criticize modern engineers to not make modern buildings to last forever but they don't realise that there is no need for long lasting buildings.

The a , aa , ka , kha are all very similar. Agree the temple was built by Khmer as the designs do not bear resemblance instead have their own style. Scenes of epics on the walls of Angkor were stunning. Both shiva and Vishnu were worshipped and then Buddha who is also believed to be one of Vishnu’s avatars.

    • You’ve got debunked! Scientific study’s show the Khmers today are DIRECT lineage of the Ancient Khmers back in the day! In fact if you wait till the end, it shows larger degree of genetic relations to MODERN DAY CAMBODIANS than Thais. “Khmer-speaking population which is closely related to Cambodian Khmer (Cambodians), the majority population in Cambodia [1]. Present-day Khmer are likely to be descendants of people from ancient Khmer states in the region .” National Library of Medicine (Government Source) “For example, a study by Changmai et al. (2022) estimated that the date of South Asian admixture in present-day Cambodians is between the 4th and 16th centuries CE, while the date of South Asian admixture in a Khmer group from Thailand is much later, between the 13th and 14th centuries CE. Meanwhile, the date of the ancient individual AB M-40/I1680, which is associated with the Angkor period, was estimated to be much older, between 1716 and 1872 CE. Overall, it is clear that present-day Cambodians share some degree of genetic ancestry with ancient Khmers, but the exact amount and nature of that ancestry likely varies depending on multiple factors, such as geographical location, historical period, and demographic changes over time. Thailand Government source (Chaing Mai Et Al) “Ancient genomics of Southeast Asia," Lipson et al. (2018) - This study analyzed the genomes of ancient individuals from Southeast Asia, including ancient Khmers from the Angkor period, and found that present-day Cambodians share genetic ancestry with these ancient populations.” Lipson Et Al (2018) (Scientist of mental health) “Population genetic analysis of the D-loop region of mitochondrial DNA in modern-day Southeast Asian individuals," Siriboonpiputtana et al. (2019) - This study analyzed mitochondrial DNA in modern-day Southeast Asian populations, including Cambodians, and found genetic similarities with ancient Khmer populations.” Siriboonpiputtana(Thai doctor) “Additionally, a study by Nakagome et al. (2017) compared the genomes of several modern Southeast Asian populations, including Cambodians and Thai, to the genome of an ancient Khmer individual from the Angkor period. The study found that the ancient Khmer individual was most closely related to modern-day Cambodians, suggesting a significant genetic continuity between ancient and modern Cambodian populations.” (Nakagome school Dublin, 2017)

    • Sorry dude, Suryavarman was Khmer. He was not Tamil even though the names are similar. If he did have an Indian connection by way of bloodline, Odisha would be a better match, judging by the script.

    • @@vardhanarya Delegations from India can place a request to the Kingdom of Cambodia to reconsecrate Angkor Wat as a Hindu temple; but it will have to be their decision finally. Maintenance is also a consideration; if it is secured from India, then it represents an outflow to Indians. For Cambodians, it is an expense and depends if they are willing to take it on. If there is a will among private temple management delegations, then perhaps there is a way forward.

  • Love to see the achievements of human civilization. The people of Cambodia have preserved their heritage. If this mega monument have been in India, I'm sure the destruction had been done by the Invaders. We as the world must take care of these monuments and also try to rebuild them with modern technology so that next human generations can see them. I am proud to be Indian because of ancient Hindu Dharma(religion) and culture. And I also appreciate the countries that preserved the proof of the great Hindu Dharma. I am surely going to visit Angkor Wat in my life.
