Life BEFORE and AFTER Having a German Shepherd Puppy
Our life is not the same ever since our family grew by one family member. Tiger, our German Shepherd puppy certainly made some adjustments in our daily schedule. But you know what’s one good thing about it? We don’t need an alarm, ever again in our life. This buddy knows exactly when it’s 6 am and he never misses it, even on weekends. 😆😂 Now we’ll never oversleep. What’s a positive change in your life after you got a German Shepherd puppy?

  • Being woken up by a GSD is quite a bit different when said dog has a wicked sense of humor. In the winter, my GSD named Dixie discovered a funny new way to wake me up when all she had intended was a little snuggling as a way to wake me. She slipped her head under the comforter and pressed her cold, wet nose against my bare ribs. I jumped, yelped, and began cursing. Dixie hopped back, looked surprised for a second, then wagged her tail and gave me a big doggy grin. Thereafter, that's how she woke me up each morning so she could get her morning jollies. She liked it so much that I could never break her of this habit.

  • I miss having a dog (or two or three). I miss everything about having dogs. Time consuming, noisy, hungry, messy, hair all over the place, having to bathe them and me smelling like a wet dog! Ahh!, the memories!💕 I miss walking them in all kinds of weather, lugging home their food for them, losing every inch of my bed or couch to them. Maybe one day soon a dog will find me and adopt me. (The majority of dogs (except for one) in my life were all rescues). I may have rescued them but they rescued me right back. 🥰🐾❤️

    • that's one of the things the trainer and behavioral specialist stressed when I had my GSD: don't let them on the furniture, of any kind. They're dogs, not people. It'll still be about 1-2 years before Tiger "grows" out of his puppy stage. Expect more biting, chewing and barking. They call it "the terrible two's". I thought it only applied to children but it really applies to GSD if they're not well-trained.

      @pritamthakuria2156@pritamthakuria2156 Жыл бұрын
    • @Pritam Thakuria, it depends, German Shepherds are great guard dogs and really good around a family with babies and small kids and they can protect the babies from people that they don’t know. Golden retrievers are much calmer as they were bread to be gun dogs rather than guard dogs, and can have lots of energy and be crazy at the best times. It may also depend on if you want to or have a young family of your own. German Shepherds are very alert and will make sure that the is well protect and will make sure the is safe. Golden retrievers are friendly towards people and will be a bit needy at times.

  • This is funny! :) I can relate. If you're having trouble training the pups, I found Cesar Milan's TV series really helpful - it's available on KZhead. I don't like 'over training' my pets, but because I have neighbours with young children it's quite important that they don't bark all the time and that, of course, they wouldn't hurt anyone. (Not a mean bone in their bodies, bless them, but with very small children I'm always worried they'll get a bit over excited and knock them over for cuddles!!).

LOL stop with the cap bro.

There are people who adopt dogs and try to take them out three times a day, but in reality cat adoptions have skyrocketed and dog shelters can no longer cope.
