Buy baby bottles. Get a can evaporated milk 1/1 cup, 1 tablespoon of yogurt, one egg, and warm water 1/1 cup. Mix. And feed them. They'll LOVE it! Wean them off by 6 months. Blessings.

Had 2 adult GSDs when we had a newborn and both of them would cuddle right up to him as if he were their own puppy. We have also had a few incidents... like when my hubby were coming back from work and Sheba went crazy on him, thinking he was an intruder! But once she heard his voice, she instantly calmed down, as if she'd known she had insulted a pack leader. They have their quirks. That was about 15 years ago and we have since had a Border Collie crossed with a Golden Retriever, and then we've had a Cocker Spaniel. Our Collie cross Retriever was much more like a Shepherd, with the fluffy coat, ears and personality, less of a guard dog, but then our Cocker took that role when he bit a burglar in the ankle. We found out about that by the scream that woke us in the night and the droplets of blood on the carpet. But both of them couldn't really replace Sheba and Sadie (our 2 GSDs). So we're getting another white pup, but we've kinda forgotten how to properly raise one since we had our first 2!

I have a GSD who will turn fourteen in March 22, he is spending his fourteenth Christmas with us this year. He gets two half mile walks daily, as well free roam of our home and yards. He loves to be groomed, He follows directions well and he is a real personality around family who is beloved by all he is introduced to, well socialized. He is a member of the family and is loved and cared for, I wouldn't know what to do without my dear friend and protector, very special to us.

Great advice! We have 5years old Gsd,s and we didn’t know much about training when he was puppy He was not social at all But it’s been one year every day taking him to dog park he’s so much better very friendly around people and dogs now!
They are very intelligent dogs so it makes sense that they can go against the saying “old dogs can’t learn new tricks” It is still hard regardless though since just like a new job for a human it takes a bit of time getting used to and comfortable with.

Very good video, however it is always important to note that GSDs are one of the most abandoned/returned dogs in America. Not understanding that this Dog, perhaps more than any other breed - REQUIRES- early socialization and training. This is a great video stressing the need to do this, and I applaud that. Just sayin, I believe it should point out that they are so often abandoned because people hear about "needs training" for ALL breeds, and not understand the true requirement for GSDs. Thanks

My GSD was an utter joy to everyone who met her, and the 2 things she did the best was responding to commands. She knew not to step foot in the diningroom when we were eating (that took a bit of time!); and I could take all her toys (a good two dozen) and leave them in the next room, out of her sight. Then I'd say: "Go and get the red ball". Knew every one of her toys cos she was my Brainiac.

I have had several GS in the past mixed and pure breed. I have one now she is a full blooded red and black.And she has hip problems trainer told me that when he first saw her because she sits sideways when he was here training her. Had a full blooded black and tan adopted 11yrs old had her about 10yrs but the hip dysplasia got her about 6 months ago was the worst thing I've seen happen to a good dog. I had to help her up n down the stairs with a sling to go potty. Then she started wetting her bed so I had to do the unthinkable and have her put down. I'm 62 years old and I sat and held her while they put her to sleep it was hard to watch. Great dogs.
I was just looking for different dog breeds, and the German Shepherd breed came up. I remember a story from my childhood. One of the neighbours had a German shepherd when I was young, and that dog had serious issues and needed help and attention. So I asked why, what went wrong with the puppy. Our neighbour said that when he adopted the little puppy, the breeders didn't do the little puppy right. So breeders didn't help the new owner or puppy at all. They just dumped the puppy into the man's house. Instead of explaining what the puppy requires, introducing the little puppy to the owner first, explain to the owner what the needs of the puppy, how he should take care of its needs and how to address social issues. So the little puppy was left kind of completely abandoned and emotionally disconnected from its owner. The owner had no idea what he should do, or how. Thus the poor puppy instead of ending up in a supportive and loving new home, was kind of left to grow up on its own. They didn't even explain the requirements for removing ticks and parasites that dogs attracts. The poor thing was always covered in ticks and blood sucking parasites, putting the poor thing at great risk of chronic disease. I asked the owner why didn't you go to the breeders and get help, he said they refused to help. Poor thing was always in distress 💔, I hope those breeders get punished 😡, that poor dog needed desperate help and attention.

We're considering getting a german Shepard puppy and train him to be my emotional support animal. I suffer from anxiety/ depression and have heart problems.
They make great ES animals or great Service Dogs. It takes me less than 18 months to have a fully trained service dog, but I am with the dog 24/7 and do my own training. If you are having much of an anxiety problem that affects normal functioning you can probably get a service dog. It depends on how your therapist/Dr. diagnoses you. I worked special ops in the military for 22 years and brought back PTSD (PTSI) from a few places. I developed a compulsive disorder, when I get to stressed, I will scratch my left elbow until it bleeds and will not even know it unless I see a bloody hand. My dog is trained to stop that. He will also search lets say a restroom at a restaurant if I go into what I call a hyper vigilant mode. He goes in a checks the restroom. When he tells me it is OK, then I go in. He also can wake me out of a nightmare with full body pressure. They can be so many things to so many people that it is amazing. Good luck with yours, you can't go wrong with a GSD but YOU have to put in the time and energy to train them. If they are not worked, they will try to eat the inside of your house from molding to cloths to shoes. That isn't their fault, it is the owner/handler for not giving the enough mental and physical stimulation and exercise.

I have my 1st German shepherd, got her when she was 9 weeks old and, she's 6 months old now and 61lbs. She will be a big girl like her mom and dad, she is very loving and follows me everywhere. She can be a bit stubborn and sensitive, I need to be more active and challenge her and have more patience and not shout at her. I could use some good tips, I don't want her to win awards just be happy and live a long life like God intended. She's like my child and my best friend, I want to do right by her. Luna is her name

@integrated_sharwan7278 I feed her chicken and rice twice daily, 2 cups in the morning and 2 cups in the evening. I use dry food and, I use the petsmart brand ( authority) it's good, less expensive and readily available. I feed her one kind of treats and never feed her from the table. I do give her a hard boiled egg and a piece of bacon once in awhile, you have to lol just don't over do it. You will be amazed how smart and loyal they are, I wish you many years of health and happiness with your new friend

What is a good multivitamin to prevent hip dysplasia and how often are you supposed to worm and keep their dates up to shot?
Hello Lenny. So glad that you asked us this query. Well, Let me help you on this. So, if you have a dog, Bree doesn't matter, so you should be at least deworming once every month until they're three months old. And about vaccination, you should be getting the regular shots on time just like any other breed of puppy gets. Like 7 to 9 weeks: distemper, infectious hepatitis, parvovirus. 11 to 13 weeks: booster for 3 previous vaccinations + rabies and leptospirosis. 15 to 17 weeks: rabies and leptospirosis boosters. 15 months: boosters for all vaccines above. And multivitamin for hip dysplasia, I would only suggest you to take advice from vet.

Hi there! great video! I have a question if anyone who actually knows facts can help me. I've always fed great quality kibble + beef bones or some raw occesionally. but i want to move to Raw diet 100%, what i'm worried about is salmonella,not for the dog but my self and family. i own 3 dogs and all stay indoors, if i feed them raw is there a chance they can shed to us the bacteria via Saliva? also how do you trully clean their paws after they done eathing chicken quarters for example.. Im not worried about them getting sick since i read a lot about their immune system,Gi track etc. mostly about their saliva and paws. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to answer :)
Hi John Magkas. Thank you so much for asking. Well i'm impressed that you think about your dogs so much. That's lovely. So, here's my only solution to your problem is if you're wanna switch to 100% diet and also concerned about transferring bacteria then you better cook the meet first and then serve it to you dogs. Cooking the meet kills the possible bacteria breeding inside the meat. If you think that cooking reduced the nutrition value of the food/meat then don't worry. You can add supplements to their diet to make the whole diet nutritious and balanced for your dogs. You should better talk this to your vet and i'm sure he/she is the one in right position to give you a better advice than any youtube person. and yeah for their licking paws thing. You can assign a designated area in your house where you'll feed them daily. same spot. And clean the area with good floor cleaner daily. and you can clean their paws with soapy water or spray the sanitizer on their paws and wipe that off with clean towel. I have a 2months old German Shepard I take him to sports complex we football and we walk around I take him in car he loves to be in car he explore everything lights roads good people bad people good smell and bad smell and how to behave and How To be calm and patience and gentle to others now he's a confident I raised 2 gsd and I teach him that biting people doesn't mean you're playing with them or licking them it can hurt them and I teach him to do not put anything in his mouth and do not jump on people
Hi im thinking of getting a GSD and just want to know your opinion on wether i should, i own a cockapoo who isn’t overly friendly but never gets aggressive apart from barking at certain dogs from a distance from what i guess is fear, she is quite jealous especially of my cat and will go out of her way to steal a spot from my cat to lay on. Its hard to put together but i have the time and want to put all the effort i can into properly training a GSD but im just not sure if going for a more easy family dog like a lab would be better

Yes offcourse. You should be worries until n unless the vet gives him a complete 'thumbs up'. Take your puppy to a good vet and get him checked. Explain very details of the incident and strange behaviour if your puppy started doing any after the incident. The vet will make sure that the fall didn't damage or hurt anything inside its head. Because, puppy's skull is not as hard as any adult dog's skull. Just like in human's case. So, if vet says that your puppy is good to go. Then you you can stop worring.

looking for a GSD. I found one at 4 months that has become too much for the owner. Curious how difficult would it be to socialize at that age or is there a time when this becomes difficult?
I have three adult Rescue GSD's. The male was 3 years old when I got him and had been isolated and used for guarding. He was amazing and has become well socialized with training. A 4 month old is still such a young puppy, I would say no problem with socializing. The best of luck to you!
