  • First of all, maneuvers I've never ever seen, and second, that plane is crazy powerful! Can you imagine that thing, by itself, in WWI? Hell someone flying that could be an ace in WWII.

  • These maneuvers are only possible thanks to the highly modified Pitts - larger wing area with more predictable stall characteristics - plus a massively overpowered engine. With a great pilot of course !!!

    • At the beginning? Don't quote me on this, but I think it works like a normal forward slip, with the plane's power compensating for less lift at that angle.
