And, this was EIGHT years ago as I make this post.. I've been out of the r/c game for a decade and change now.. Gonna have to catch up.. Thanks for the video...
only one word can describe what this man is capable of doing with an Rc airplane. Incredible.
Amazing pilot, plane, and fast servos. I can watch this over and over and stay amazed. The skill of the pilot is unlike anything I've seen and even though he does some dangerous "tricks" where he could get seriously hurt I kind of overlook that part because of his fantastic control of the plane.
Jerry Ellis he uses gyros to maintain straight flight.

@@shilpwift3366 Martin Pickering DON'T USES GYROS... He is a TOP PILOT. I have seen electronic inside plane and I can confirm you that he is not using gyros...
@ Martin doesn’t use gyros..BUT he's not a top pilot. There's half a dozen young guns from USA that are redefining XA , Precision , and 3D Flying..including Jase and Spencer! Gernot is also stellar
Good would be an understatement. That little touch on the asphalt, that was intensional; deliberate. And the radio behind the back, amazing.
Best RC flying I've seen. In full scale, I watched a plane called the Waco Mystery Ship, piloted by Jimmy Franklin, do many of these stunts at the El Toro MCAS in the early 90's. One move I will never forget was before he got in the plane, he placed two 16 ounce Coke bottles about two feet apart and laid a streamer over the top of them. He then pointed out a small hook sticking about six inches out of the top of the tail. After takeoff, he flew inverted down the runway and snagged the streamer, which stayed there throughout the show. To get it, the tail had to be less than 18" off the runway. He also did the climb into a stall, falling into an inverted flat spin, with recovery at about 100 feet or less. He was hands down the best air performer I have seen, live or on the net.

Nerves of steel doing that kind of speed so close to the ground with such a big nice model. Love the inverted loop to a flat stall move. That's a serious plane with big power.
Einfach toll, athemlos - das Beste was ich je gesehen habe. Hochachtung vor dieser Leistung!
I'm amazed a plane that size can take that abuse! Fantastic pilot skills! You make it look so easy! 👍🏼

Super amazing flying skills displayed in this video!!! Some of the best aerobatic maneuvers I've ever seen. Gotta remember the name Martin Pickering!
Oh yeah, those are Arabic scales
Been awhile since I've watched one of his videos. I forgot how good he is, amazing!
Управляет моделью как частью своего тела, завидую и тренируюсь... Молодец!
I have never seen anything like this before. I mean I have seen flying like this, but not intentionally, sorta like my first 40 seconds attempting to fly an RC plane. Dude, I could watch your flying all day. People say your skills are on another level... that ain’t even close, they are in another galaxy on another level!!!! 🙌🏻🤘🏼👏🏻👨🏻✈️🛩💯🏁
Earth is FLAT! No galaxies, no gravity, no aliens, no 'space'.
Damn! Best flying I've ever seen!! Planes always have an experation date. I hope this one's still breathing. Thanks for posting.
I didn't really see this. The pilot isn't human. This is too amazing. Awesome !
Michael Olsen most of the piloting is done by gyros.
no its not
RC WORLD how can you tell i's not?
Because i belong to a flying club and fly these types of large scale 3d planes, i can assure you all the piloting is done by highly skilled people who have done this hobby for 10s of years

wow, I was scared for a moment, I thought it was gunna smack the ground. this video is epic heart attack. great skills man

well, some times they do. even in 1:1 scale shows. if it wasn't dangerous, it wouln't be a show.

First time ever that I give positive comment on a rc plane video. So here is go's. This is some crazy skills and very nice video to watch :)
That bit at the end was pure wanker !!!!! I LOVE IT !!! Boy, this man has some MAD skills, that is the most impressive display of it's type i have seen in a long time. No wonder he is a champion. Exceptional. I wonder how many models got retired developing them skills though.....does we have a closet full of slightly less true airframes at home Sir? No-one is born with skill like that, it's been learned, but very bloody well indeed.

JUST AMAZING!! It reminds me of the first flight I made with my RC, except I wasn't doing those tricks on purpose! LOL Seriously, that plane had to have a 6061 T6 aluminum frame, no? I mean, the G-forces applied to the wings alone must have bee at least 5 or 6! And can someone who knows about this plane tell me what the size of that engine was, (CC & HP)? From about 1980 to 1986, I was into RC building and flying big time. Sometime around 1983 I built a Cessna 170 from a 100% stick-built kit. It was balsa and basswood and high-quality shrink wrap. The wings, fuselage, vertical & horizontal sections were all stick-built and NO foam core of any kind. It took me 10 months to build because I was a manager in a medium size machine shop and worked many hours each week. When I finally finished the plane I taxied it around for a few days to break-in the nitro-mix motor. Then, the day before I planned to fly it for the first time, I took it to a nearby school hard, (after hours). I wanted to just get a feel for the balance and make any necessary throttle adjustments. I didn't want to take it off the ground. But a distant thunderstorm was approaching as I taxied it in the grass. I knew I was going to have to stop the test but I was taken by surprise by a very sudden, strong, burst of wind that proceeded the thunderstorm, (which was still several miles away). That wind came in straight at the front of the plane as I was taxiing it back toward my position at about 5 mph. The wind gust had to be at least 35 to 40 mph and as soon as it hit the plane, the plane took off!! I was completely unprepared and to make matters worse, I was in a populated, residential area. 10 months of precision building was now flying 100 feet above me and the T-storm was closing in fast. In addition, the winds from the approaching storm were chaotic and entirely unpredictable. I struggled for well over 5 minutes in an attempt to get the plane safely on the ground but I was fighting powerful wind gusts and crosswinds. I lost count of how many times the plane almost smashed into the ground at high speed but I was able to recover it with a sharp elevator and/or rudder control input and kept it from a catastrophic crash. Because this was supposed to be a short "taxi ground test", I didn't have much fuel in the tank and I knew I was going to run out very soon. I honestly expected the entire episode to end with a completely destroyed plane as the T-storm reached my destination and it started raining. I was unable to keep control of the plane long enough to make a reasonably good landing. The thunder & lightning was close, too close, and I was in an open grass field. I was wet and in danger of being hit by lightning myself. So, just about when I reached the point of accepting the fact that the plane was going to be destroyed and I was simply going to have to let it crash, a strong wind current of about 20 or 30 mph came straight into the front of the plane and was blowing steady and long enough for me to match the wind's speed with the engine's rpm. I ran the throttle up and managed to match the head-on wind speed and brought the plane to a stop in mid-air! I was 10 feet from the plane and it was 5 feet above the ground in a HORIZONTAL HOVER! It was as if it was in a wind tunnel! As it floated in that flight position, practically motionless, I ran over and grabbed it by the tail! I cut the engine and started running for the car. As I did, I could hear applause coming from some houses to my left. I looked to see what it was and there were about 6 or 7 people standing under their porches, clapping!!! LOL To this day, I don't know if they thought I did all that stunt flying on purpose or not. But I can assure you, that it was all an amazing streak of luck and I could never do it again. Anyway, that was a great video and the flying was incredible! FWIW, Rich

Him : Flying plane like a VToL Stall : aM i A jOkE tO YoU ???!!!!
Those planes are virtually impossible to get into an unrecoverable stall, because the power to weight ratio is so high. The engine can produce more thrust than the plane weighs, so it can hang in the air by the prop and even fly vertical.
Him again: yes!
@@squareguy6443 really?
@@squareguy6443 until your engine quits. Then most of them are honestly good gliders but they won’t do those stall things. (Speaking from experience)

Very impressive, hand to eye speed is impressive
I remember seeing someone fly like this at a local RC airshow when I was a kid, and the airshow had an announcer. The announcer made it sound like some crazy guy stole the remote and had never flown before. Obviously he was cutting the throttle and doing flat spins, everything all part of the act, it was pretty impressive, but funny to think of it all as an "accident"
Very precise and delicate control on the sticks. Superb.

YOU ARE A AMAZING PILOT!
Great Plane’s Real Flight Sim is a great way to get started in a hobby like this one. That setup typically runs between $2-4K. A profile plane is much, much cheaper but is still capable of all those maneuvers. Start small and work your way up to fly-ins with giant-scale birds and choreographed performances.
Great skill and little regard for his own life. The combo of champions.
