  • Amazing pilot, plane, and fast servos. I can watch this over and over and stay amazed. The skill of the pilot is unlike anything I've seen and even though he does some dangerous "tricks" where he could get seriously hurt I kind of overlook that part because of his fantastic control of the plane.

  • Best RC flying I've seen. In full scale, I watched a plane called the Waco Mystery Ship, piloted by Jimmy Franklin, do many of these stunts at the El Toro MCAS in the early 90's. One move I will never forget was before he got in the plane, he placed two 16 ounce Coke bottles about two feet apart and laid a streamer over the top of them. He then pointed out a small hook sticking about six inches out of the top of the tail. After takeoff, he flew inverted down the runway and snagged the streamer, which stayed there throughout the show. To get it, the tail had to be less than 18" off the runway. He also did the climb into a stall, falling into an inverted flat spin, with recovery at about 100 feet or less. He was hands down the best air performer I have seen, live or on the net.

    • Víctor, realmente un ESPECTÁCULO, pero en el minuto 6:00 cómo hacés para MANTENERLA BIEN PARADA, es decir al avión, porque no es un Helicóptero, entonces qué fuerza hace para que se MANTENGA BIEN PARADA, realmente no entiendo. Porque la fuerza del motor no bastaría, ya que un avión se suspende por la fuerza del motor y por las alas, pero ahí, en ese caso, las alas no están cumpliendo ninguna función de sustentación, porque el AVIÓN está BIEN PARADO PARA ARRIBA. Quiere decir que basta con el MOTOR ULTRASÓNICO que posee el Avión

      @Tula5251@Tula52515 жыл бұрын
    • @@Tula5251 La potencia del motor de 120cc y el tamaño de la hélice del avión, junto con el bajo peso (para el tamaño del avión), hacen que sea capaz de sustentar al avión como si fuera un helicóptero. El torque del motor (inercia en sentido contrario al giro de la hélice) hace que el avión tienda a girar en sentido contrario. La maniobra sin giro se llama estacionario, y con giro es un Torque Roll.

      5 жыл бұрын
    • @ Gracias, qué buena explicación, es que desconozco totalmente del tema, es que me estaba olvidando de la élice y del poco peso, sos un genio, sos un maestro del aeromodelismo, es increíble como se mueve ese avión por los aires, a diferencia de otros aeromodelistas (Boieng) que son muy monótonos, quizás tengan miedo de que se le caiga el avión, lo cual puede ser, por ahí veo que haces dos cosas a la vez, y cuando el avión se te viene encima en horizontal veo que estás muy tranquilo sabiendo que va a doblar, un espectáculo !

  • JUST AMAZING!! It reminds me of the first flight I made with my RC, except I wasn't doing those tricks on purpose! LOL Seriously, that plane had to have a 6061 T6 aluminum frame, no? I mean, the G-forces applied to the wings alone must have bee at least 5 or 6! And can someone who knows about this plane tell me what the size of that engine was, (CC & HP)? From about 1980 to 1986, I was into RC building and flying big time. Sometime around 1983 I built a Cessna 170 from a 100% stick-built kit. It was balsa and basswood and high-quality shrink wrap. The wings, fuselage, vertical & horizontal sections were all stick-built and NO foam core of any kind. It took me 10 months to build because I was a manager in a medium size machine shop and worked many hours each week. When I finally finished the plane I taxied it around for a few days to break-in the nitro-mix motor. Then, the day before I planned to fly it for the first time, I took it to a nearby school hard, (after hours). I wanted to just get a feel for the balance and make any necessary throttle adjustments. I didn't want to take it off the ground. But a distant thunderstorm was approaching as I taxied it in the grass. I knew I was going to have to stop the test but I was taken by surprise by a very sudden, strong, burst of wind that proceeded the thunderstorm, (which was still several miles away). That wind came in straight at the front of the plane as I was taxiing it back toward my position at about 5 mph. The wind gust had to be at least 35 to 40 mph and as soon as it hit the plane, the plane took off!! I was completely unprepared and to make matters worse, I was in a populated, residential area. 10 months of precision building was now flying 100 feet above me and the T-storm was closing in fast. In addition, the winds from the approaching storm were chaotic and entirely unpredictable. I struggled for well over 5 minutes in an attempt to get the plane safely on the ground but I was fighting powerful wind gusts and crosswinds. I lost count of how many times the plane almost smashed into the ground at high speed but I was able to recover it with a sharp elevator and/or rudder control input and kept it from a catastrophic crash. Because this was supposed to be a short "taxi ground test", I didn't have much fuel in the tank and I knew I was going to run out very soon. I honestly expected the entire episode to end with a completely destroyed plane as the T-storm reached my destination and it started raining. I was unable to keep control of the plane long enough to make a reasonably good landing. The thunder & lightning was close, too close, and I was in an open grass field. I was wet and in danger of being hit by lightning myself. So, just about when I reached the point of accepting the fact that the plane was going to be destroyed and I was simply going to have to let it crash, a strong wind current of about 20 or 30 mph came straight into the front of the plane and was blowing steady and long enough for me to match the wind's speed with the engine's rpm. I ran the throttle up and managed to match the head-on wind speed and brought the plane to a stop in mid-air! I was 10 feet from the plane and it was 5 feet above the ground in a HORIZONTAL HOVER! It was as if it was in a wind tunnel! As it floated in that flight position, practically motionless, I ran over and grabbed it by the tail! I cut the engine and started running for the car. As I did, I could hear applause coming from some houses to my left. I looked to see what it was and there were about 6 or 7 people standing under their porches, clapping!!! LOL To this day, I don't know if they thought I did all that stunt flying on purpose or not. But I can assure you, that it was all an amazing streak of luck and I could never do it again. Anyway, that was a great video and the flying was incredible! FWIW, Rich
