  • Sundstrom sr100 with an abek filter and particulate filter infront. Made in sweeden around $250 max. It’s used by asbestos workers and hot works. I used it during the demolition of a power station where I was an oxy cutter. Worked with oil fires, grass fires, burning cable insulation, dust etc. and you can just wash the mask. Abek filter needs to be changed regularly and kept in a container when not in use as it has a carbon element that absorbs moisture.

However, this video is specifically discussing the smoke and air quality in NYC, so filtering 99% of the air you are breathing is reducing the amount of smoke in your lungs by 99%, which is still better than nothing.

And you can buy probably 500 n95 masks that I personally know will keep out 2 to 3 days worth of concrete dust being sprayed out of a demolition saw.
