  • As a Beatlemanaic, It's amazing to see another band who inspire and impact millions if not billions of lives. I'm not really a BTS fan but they are like The Beatles in their early times. The Beatles changed my life with their music, and cured my depression. BTS is doing the same thing today with my generation. These guys are already legends. Peace and Love, and Love Yourself everyone! Edit: Thank you everyone for your kind words as well!!! Peace and Love!!!!

    • @@maxplanck1077 seriously? can you not read through lines? LoL you must have gotten F for a literature class or something. I said " syndrome". The crazy syndrome BTS has created to their fans is similar to that of Beatles. I am not talking about anything else. That is what they are talking about. Who else in this age make their fans camp out around their concert stadiums a week prior to their concert? Whoe else does that these days? No one but BTS makes fans do that. Camping out 1 week before the concert starts just to get the best viewing standing seats. That is a phenomenal, very rare to see these days. BTS has that impact on people. Btw, FYI BTS has gotten no.1 on billboard 200 chart 3 times in a row within 11 months. BTS is the only artist who has that record after Beatles. It is a FACT. DEAL WITH IT!😊

    • @@koyukiny First of all, I always had straight A's in literature class. Secondly, I still stand by my judgement, if I had lived in the 60's, I would have waited a whole month to attend a Beatles' concert. Thirdly, BTS fans are hella defensive. If someone had said something similar about a band I like, I would have said "sure, suit yourself". I wouldn't need to justify my music taste.

  • I don't know if anyone will see this but for those of you who aren't familiar with BTS or this song let me explain what Boy With Luv is actually about because it has a lovely meaning that I think captures their sincerity very well. So first and foremost it's a love song, that much was obvious, but it's what it means to BTS that I feel is so important because in simplest terms, this is a song about ARMYs (their fans). To provide some context, i'm sure you can imagine a korean group singing in their native language would have experienced many barriers and hardships in the western market. They have not only been discriminated against but constantly pressured to conform to appeal to a wider audience at the expense of their artistic integrity. Not just that but even from their own country they are constantly pressured to meet unbelievable expectations and their every move is scrutinised. This is accumulated to have a pretty severe affect on their mental health to the point they almost considered disbanding, thankfully they managed to persevere and have reached a point where they can comfortably reject all pressures, criticisms and prejudices. This album 'Map of The Soul: Persona' is inspired by Carly Jung's theories on individual psyche and this album and song in particular emphasises 'persona' (individuality). So this song is also a rejection of all these criticisms to act a certain way and make music a certain way to cater to people because they want to embrace their own individuality, they don't want to sacrifice it just to please a wider audience. It's cause of the fans constant support of this that they have been able to reject that. They have said themselves that this song (along with the album) is dedicated to their fans and if you look at some of the lyrics you can understand why: "I’m flying high up in that sky with the two wings that you gave me then" "They say, I, who used to so small, became a hero (Oh nah) I say, things like destiny were never mine from the beginning (Oh nah) The world’s peace (No way) Some grand rules (No way) Just going to protect you, I am" "with Icarus’ wings that you gave me, I’d fly to you, not the sun" These pretty accurately convey how their priority has always been about their fans and not feeling the need to live up to certain expectations or cater to a certain audience etc. BTS took this sentiment and how they have been able to endure everything because of the support and love from their fans and turned it into a love song. The korean title is actually called 'a poem for small things' and in various parts they talk about wanting to know trivial petty parts of the person's life because this is what they consider 'true love'. So.... to them the support and love their fans gave them was so powerful it helped them through everything and that sentiment is what they consider 'true love'. google 'doolset boy with luv lyrics' if you want a better explanation!

If you're very easily depressed or if you're hurt easily then that time and era would not have been in your favour. There was no way that I could see them succeed back then and it made me angry af because their music really helped me. I hated their debut days and wished that they had never gone through that. • @@masterchief4766 actually no they're not, they are an idol group. While similar, they have different cultural implications. Not to mention that boybands are a western phenomenon and idol groups are almost exclusively eastern. No Kpop, cpop or jpop group I have ever heard of has actually referred to themselves as a boy or girl band (unless they are actually a band like CNBlue or Nightmare or Dir an Grey) and refer to themselves as an idol group. Although variations such as boy group, girl group and co-ed group are also common. However there is no denying that BTS fits into the "idol" culture and they debuted under the title of "idol group," despite originally supposed to be a hip hop group.
