It is surreal for me to watch this performance knowing I was in the room with BTS and ARMY on this night. I still remember the energy of the crowd. I still remember seeing the members walk into the theatre. I remember my parents standing next to me screaming those fanchants at the top of their lungs with me. The person who made it possible for us to be there, my mother, passed away last year. I watch this and think of her and how beautiful the night was. I still have a photo of me and both my parents from this night. I can't believe five years have come and gone. I can't believe how much has changed since then. But I am so happy and proud to be a fan of BTS. They are a once in a lifetime sort of group, and I'm so happy I was able to be part of a little piece of their journey. November 19th, 2017 was one of the most beautiful nights of my life, and I pray that I'll be able to meet these extraordinary men someday. And I cherish the memories their music helped create, especially those involving my mom. I miss her so much, but I know she's watching over me and she's watching over Seokjin, Namjoon, Yoongi, Hoseok, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook too. She loved all of them just as I do. In their bangtantv episode about this event, they showed a rehearsal where Jimin was like “the camerawork seems really disorganized” and the boys were talking about how they didn’t know where to perform to because the camera was all over the place. And well... they were right. The camera work is absolute chaos and really doesn’t do the performance justice at all. But still proud of the boys!
I think they didn't know how to record it because singing/dancing acts aren't common like this in America. But that doesn't excuse that the director did a terrible job and showed the crowd way too much. They had more than one practice session with the guys so the director should have figured something better out. The director or whoever was in charge should have done a better job, it was their debut performance for crying out loud. Thankfully shows and other award shows seem to know how to film them.

That's not the camerawork though. They have 4-5 cameras there (crane for overview, closeups of fans from front, closeup stage performers, stage long shot etc.) and the video mixer sitting in the control room, sees all the camera angles and is deciding during the live performance, which of these cameras is gonna be "on". The video mixer decides what angles are being seen and gives directions to the camera operators who have designated "roles". I work in the field, so yeah, that's how it goes.
@@LeeAnnGlenn I'm pretty sure they said that because yes there may be more than one camera showing different angles but it doesn't change the fact that they kept showing the audience and back to bts and then kept frequently showing the audience over and over again and kept skipping some of the performance but that's because Americans artists when they perform they dont really have choreography or anything special in there performance so that's why the camera crew keep going back to the audience and just switching but bts actually had choreography and everything so it was annoying if you wanted to see them dance but it kept going to the audience
Nah korea cameramen suck too they film reactions more than the performance nobody does this job right .
