Sims 2 vs Sims 3 vs Sims 4 - Wedding
Sims 2
In The Sims 2, Engaged Sims can throw wedding party, and celebrate their love with their friends and family. the wedding party can only be hosted on your home lot. When the guests have arrived, your Sims should get married right away under a wedding arch. This way, more Sims will come to watch the wedding ceremony. If Sims have high relationship, everything should go smoothly. For a proper wedding celebration, the newlyweds can cut their wedding cake. they will cut a piece of cake and feed their significant other with a fork, or by shoving a piece of cake in their face. You can also buy a champagne to celebrate and give a proper toast to the newlyweds.
Making sure everyone's needs are met, you should definitely have a buffet table. This way more Sims will sit down to eat and chat with the other guests, affecting the wedding party score.
To have a great party make sure to have fun, you can place a photo booth and capture this special moment with your spouse and with your friends and family. And of course, there is no party without music and questionable dancing.
Sims 3
In the Sims 3, After Sims are engaged, you can start planning a wedding party. You can throw a wedding party on a residential or a community lot. I always throw a wedding party on the home lot, because otherwise I find it too chaotic.
While planning the wedding party, you can choose the time the party starts, the dress code, and the guest list. You can invite up to 10 Sims. When the guests arrive, make sure you get married right away. Most of them will automatically find a seat to watch the ceremony, but not everyone will remain seated. Some guests will throw rose petals and some will give the newlyweds applause. For a proper wedding celebration, the newlyweds can cut the cake. The guests will gather and cheer. For fun, you can place a bubble bar and of course there is no fun without music and dancing.
Sims 4
With The Sims 4: My Wedding Stories, Sims can now plan in detail every part of their special day. Having this pack will replace weddings from the base game.
There are seven types of wedding events in total, each of them having different activities and traditions to choose from. In this video we'll focus on the Wedding Ceremony.
You can bake one, or you can buy a wedding cake from a shop in Taratosa.
If you want to, you can have a maid of honor at your wedding day. You need to ask Sims first. You can have a flower pal. You can have an officiant, and a ring bearer. If you want to, you can also have a wedding bouquet. You can make one, or purchase one from a shop in Taratosa.
When the guests have arrived, you can ask them to take their seats. With The Sims 4: My Wedding Stories, you'll have to micromanage every detail. Some players like that, some don't.
after everyone is seated, I always send the Bride and groom last. You can also choose how you would like to exchange the Vows. You can also ask Sims to throw rice. You have to ask guests to gather around for the first dance. You can ask the bride and groom to cut the cake, then instruct them again to feed each other. Sims can also gather around for toast.
Make sure there is enough food for everyone and have fun.
Who is The Winner?
the sims 2 damaged wedding cutscene is so fucking hilarious
BRUH 😂😂😂 the the sound of the tires skidding took me OUT
I'm the same way😂😂
In Sims 2 the invitees sit for the wedding without issue and stay in their formal attire, why can't it be like that for the Sims 4?
I know I just did 2 weddings in sims 4 (with the wedding pack) and 50% wore work clothes, I cry 😢
There are just as many issues in Sims 2 with getting them to sit for weddings without mods as there is for all the other games. Just with Sims 2 you can pause and move Sims around to get them where you want them to be. (They also don’t always stay in formal attire or show up in it.)
@@alison247mitzy2 No, there's no need for wedding mods in sims 2. I had over 300 wedding parties in Sims 2 (over 8 years of playing) and the guests always sat down for the ceremony and cheered. I never had any problems.
@@alison247mitzy2sounds like a lie to me Or probably only happens to you LoL
@@janematthews3394 Same, never had any issues with the weddings in TS2, even as a child not knowing what I was doing 😅
sims 2 interactions are just PERFECT!!! and sims 3 calm down please lol
Sims 3 needs to calm down with a lot of things lol. A lot of things in it are over the top for no reason.
The Sims 3 is so chaotic LOL I think it wins this time, just for being able to pick when and where to have the party. The Sims 4 loses because My Wedding Stories lololol Great concept, but the execution.....
If it weren't a glorified bugs galore party MWS would've been decent
My first time using wedding stories was so stressful i rage quitted 🤣🤣🤣
@@noyoucantnoicantnowecantsostop EA seriously needs to fix their shit
The bride dancing alone in the end💀
Guests: Boo!! Suzan, you're not wearing formalwear. Suzan:(yawn)Your boos fuel me
The sims 2 wedding was the best. I love the tip about locking up the household and putting stalls outside. The dinner and dancing was the cutest
You're so right. They're gonna look so goofy in my post-apocalyptic game but I'm totally going to do this
Sorry you went through the pain of Sims 4 wedding lol...
sims 3 will always have a special place in my heart ❤
They booed Susan 😂😂😂
Crazy that the sims 4 need a pack dedicated to weddings to make them detailed and “work”
It doesn't. The weddings were already perfectly fine in Sims 4. The wedding pack is just for people who want more out of their weddings and like to micromanage.
Mrs. Crumplebottom: "Seriously? Right in front of my salad?"
Sims 4 typical gameplay is unless you work to force every single interaction and pretend it's fun and nothing happens spontaneously and act like they could care less, about anything. Always married with ceremony in TS2. TS3 was ok and even if you were at the park or beach and decided to get married on the spot, whoever was there would come over spontaneously to watch and clap so that was fun without making a big deal. With TS4 I just elope immediately and get it over with then send on honeymoon .
For this video I first tried a beach party for the Sims 3. It was a pure chaos. No one came to watch the ceremony. They all sunbathed and swam in the ocean. The ones that did watch the ceremony, they were in their bathing suits :( ❤
Ts2: magic ✨🪄🎉, ts3: a rave 🤪, ts4: a npc horror festival
Ah, Mrs. Crumplebottom! Always the hater for every type of romantic and flirty actions.
The Sims 2 has just what it takes, I love it! The Sims 3 was chaotic and short. The Sims 4 has too many options, I missed it haha
Sims 2 has the most beautiful weddings. The guests are more engaged and focused on the bride and groom, as should be for a wedding. Just like you suggested for Sims 3, you can also have karaoke for Sims 2 or even a DJ Booth (can have that for TS3 too). Prior to TS2:BV (or if you do not have the pack), the limo picking you up, represents a honeymoon (that happens offscreen). However, if you have TS2:BV, you can actually book your honeymoon at any of the 3 vacation destinations. Also, there is a mod that allows you to place the wedding arch on any community lot (you can even build wedding chapels). So, you can technically have wedding parties on community lots (although, they do not count as wedding parties), and you can use the group outing to have up to 8 guests, or use a mod to teleport guests, or both. If you own the community lot, you can even charge guests, while in attendance. I also do love the wedding process with TS3:G, asking a parent for hand in marriage, the bachelor/bachelorette parties. The actual weddings can be a bit chaotic, especially when at certain venues. In theory, TS4 should be on top, as it has its own dedicated pack, filled with extras. However, you have to micromanage every detail, and still it does not go as planned (from what I see). What is with the overdramatic crying from the groom and guests? And why was the bride the only one dancing on the dancefloor towards the end? I do not own the pack, and likely will never own it, but your wedding success was the best I have seen, and to me it is just meh. One last thing, please do not throw rice at weddings (irl), birds will eat the rice, the rice will expand inside them, and their stomachs will burst open, causing their deaths. 😢
considering you're using ts2 mods there are mods that allows you to throw wedding parties on community lots too
@@Beines I did specify that one can "technically" have wedding parties on community lots, but I am unaware of any mods that accredit them as "Wedding Parties," to fulfill said wants for Sims. If you know of any particular mods that do so, I would love to know?
Lol, the invitees awkward silence in TS4
The sims 2 was more emotional especially with the cutscenes. Same with sims 3 the actions actually mattered. With sims 4 they’d be mad but then would be fine 10 mins later 😂
I think this would have been much better if there had been some honesty here. In Sims 2 or 3 you can have these wedding parties and they basically work as expected. Sims 4 has not had normal functionality with wedding since the wedding disasters pack and we all know they don’t fix things, just go off to the next release.
Pretty sure the Sims throw rice in TS3, but I could be wrong lol
They do lol
They do, even though it is pretty uncommon now (and banned in some places because it attracts mice and birds).
5:55 ''bubble blower'' yeah right ahaha
A child casually using it 💀
Alex casually joins in 😭😭
I'm surprised the bubble blower is still there in TS4 with all the censorship they're doing to appeal to kids 😅
Micromanaging the wedding in the Sims 4 seems like it would take all Sim-day to have the event! 🎉
it does, makes me wanna scream😻
All sims 4 events take all day 🙄🙄
Looks like it would take all human-day
@@kitkatboard😂 exactly
How many hours did that sims 4 segment take, that sh!t is buggy as hell without mods.
haha it wasn't too bad, but I wasn't having too much fun to be honest ❤
10:49 recently my Sim on the Sims 2 got beaten up by Agnes Crumplebottom just because she woohooed in the photo booth 🤭😅😅
I liked the sims2 more it was my childhood game
In the Sims 3 Isla paradiso, you have a special spot in the hotels to host a wedding!
In the sims 3 I always build a church lot to marry my sims there
Although I do enjoy how many options sims 4 has, I don’t like how half the time you assign guest to sit they don’t even sit, they are doing everything else.
4:20 lol the guy almost threw up when they kissed
I love how they automatically eat the cake. Whenever I have parties in the sims 4, the guests barely eat anything. If you create a club where eating is one of the club activities, they will eat every drop of what you make and then go in your fridge and eat all the leftovers. Ill call the club “The Big Backs” 😂
I am amazed you managed to get a wedding actually happen in Sims 4 and your guests actually wore the dress code and arrived for the ceremony. When I do play Sims 4 I just get my sims to elope now, it’s too painful. 😅 Mostly I’ve just gone back to Sims 3.
Sims 3 wins, because of the lights :)
The sound of the car skidding and driving away when the bride runs away during an unsuccessful wedding took me out 😂 Sims 2 had so much character and richness. 😢
Sims 2 is just so full of life and actually feel so fun and realistic.
Sims 2 is the most balanced. Sims 4 is way too much.
Could you, please, make comparison of wedding cakes (maybe, in "shorts")? Different designs, the way to get them (shopping or baking), interaction with it etc. Noone did this, but I would really be happy to see ❤❤❤ Once I saw a pic of wedding cake in "Sims1", that's interesting, didn't know, they had some.
Will do! ❤❤
@@tintaverse thank you!!! ❤❤❤❤
Sims 2 was the smoothest, Sims 4 is the most involved... but tbh, I used to love weddings in the Sims 3, except the one over-clapper who would still be clapping after half the guests had already left. Sims 4 is so autonomous that the guests can't seem to follow commands if you have more than base game and my wedding stories. They won't sit, they talk in the isle while your party is trying to walk down the isle, they don't gather for anything... But you can get great screen shots and wedding pictures though due to the best graphics. (Shout out to extra family members as wedding photographers.) I'd love the graphics of Sims 4 with the smoothness of Sims 2 and the energy of Sims 3. Clap on, shawty, clap on.
The sunset of the Sims 3 is wonderful and the pink and blue color mixtures in the air... A game where the American atmosphere is experienced at its peak. It's very nostalgic and will hold a special place in my heart... 😌
i think they were throwing rice in the sims 3 and not rose petals, as it’s sort of a tradition to throw rice at the end of a wedding ceremony.
I think you CAN have weddings on community lots in Sims 2. Your engaged couple just need cellphones and you need to set up the venue beforehand, and you might have to arrange a friend group. I’ve never done it myself but I’ve seen it done before.
You can get married on a community lot, but you can't have an official wedding party ❤
i think you need mods to pull it off
It’s so obvious when comparing how QUIET TS4 worlds are… the sims are just silent at the wedding in comparison to 2&3
Don't lie but in my case, I married the Markovic household in a occassion in Sims 4 and the wedding took me five hours (in real life, not in the game) for being perfect!! I installed several mods for reduced the bugs and lags, until they could get married and end the party perfectly 😩
Sims 4 really is just a glorified, ultra expensive dollhouse. Where's the 'sim' part when you control everything?
the sims 2 had so much essence and aesthetic. I miss the cutscenes the most (even though they got a little annoying)
I never even put chairs for wedding guests to see the arch ceremony in Sims 2, the idea never even crossed my mind lol
If Bon Voyage is installed the player could have the sims arrange a proper honeymoon trip if the wedding is successful. In the sims 3 additional automatic vacation days are given out to provide a honeymoon, but a honeymoon properly cannot be scheduled unless World Adventures is installed. Sims 4 does not provide additional vacation days for people who get married at a successful wedding party, but if an expansion pack containing rental lots is installed they can go on a honeymoon provided they have enough vacation days available.
The whole TS4 section should be just an error screen.
I don’t care if you can do more in the Sims 4, the sims do not listen. Sims 2 is still better.
Is it just me or sims in 4 actually acting like bots? While in the previous games they were moving, speaking, and communicating with the world around them very smoothly, but in sims 4 there’s always a small waiting time for each action and each communication feels the same and unrealistic, while also being very chaotic? Like the game breaks the immersion…
5:55 nothing like a bong to make a party great XD JK
I pick 2 since I love the cutscenes!
NAAAAH the first cut scene broke my heart!😭
Sims 2 is my favorite in this one, the animations and cutscene events are so sweet and good, the programming on the guest AI is also a lot better. They behave the most like guests in a real wedding, Sims 3 is too informal. Sims 4 is a joke as always, of course proper weddings are paid DLC that does not even work and is completely broken and buggy... it may look passable in this vid but trust me watch gameplay of it lol
Agreed, Sims 2 is pretty good
The sims 3 is a mess 😂😂 I had so much fun watching it 🤣
Video was made so beautifully, I'm crying
i dont remember, but I think in the sims 2 has a way to schedule a honeymoon after wedding
What the heck oh my gosh I never knew Sims could run from the alter and that girl RAN
I forget to uninvited Agnes Crumplebottom when my sim married with Kyle Kyleson, because she's get Crumpebottom moodlet 😃
I'm tempted to throw a wedding party after watching this video, but my Sim hasn't got a lot of friends
someone had the audacity to di3 during my wedding in sims 4.
The sims 2 is the winner and the sims 4 is the loser in the sims 2 there is so much love put into the game and more detail & the sims 4 is a buggy mess
Question, does Sims 4 allow you to book a honeymoon if you have certain packs? If so, which pack/s are needed? I know you need BV for TS2, and either WA or another world installed (after a certain patch that allows you to use other worlds as vacation destinations), but I am unclear what is needed in TS4, or if it can be done.
2:19 kid face looks like an adult sim LOL
Sims 4 wedding pack is one of their best Expansions, most are dry imo. Sims 2 didn’t need expansions to be full of details. Great timeless game. The sims 3 is my fave but definitely not my fave wedding gameplay. 💚
Guys if you don’t have a calendar in Sims 4 you could just select it in Plan a Social Event
fully cutscened special moments back in the early 2000s is just some how fucking impossible in late 2016 i guess
Finally you made another vid
Thank you for your patience dear! ❤️
@@tintaverse question do you know who the Red plumbob is? in case you don’t know who she is, she makes the same videos as yours
In Sims 4 while on My Wedding Stories the Altar was introduced and any other sim to invite as Officiant (inspired from Wedding Preist), Sim of Honor (If the males called bestman or females called maid of honor), Flower Pal (Flower Girl) and Ring Bearer, Throwing the Bouquets was introduced here
There were already altars and an offician in Sims Medieval.

I hope sims 5 is like 2 such great memories
I love the Photo Booth from Sims 2!
And there were firework shows with the best fireworks all different 🎉
love how the sims 4 portion took up half the video 😭😭
in sims 3, the guests were actually throwing rice. it’s tradition but i don’t remember why people do it at weddings.
im in love with Sims 2. The wedding video event is really cute🥺
those sims in ts2 look so alike with Vincent and Samantha from life stories😍😍
I had a wedding in sims 2 and invited both sides parents and siblings for them to remember it as a "family reunion"😂
For me Sims 2 - Wins this round because eveything is so realistic in the game and it has more options, and it has no to little bugs. Sims 3 - Wins 2nd because of how cute weddings are, i don't have to micromanage and it doesn't break as well, the weddings are even more realistic with Generations, but i put this in Second because The Sims 2 Weddings did it better. The Sims 4 - Loses because of how ridiculous wedding are, especially with My Wedding Disaster, i love Micromanaging but i hate every aspect of the pack, the weddings doesnt seem to work at launch, it is fixed a little but its still broken and still no excuse for a broken pack, even it has more options, it should be on the top, but it is pretty shallow and buggy, i would rather put it last. So. Sims 2>Sims 3>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Sims 4 *cough* My Wedding Stories*cough*
I have no desire to play The Sims 4 at all. What I’d give to play The Sims 2
6:16 I always loved the engagement animation of the sims 3…the most romantic of all games
I tried throwing a wedding in the sims 4 with the wedding game pack it took me three tries to finally get the wedding moment i wanted. After that day, i told myself never again, so i get my sims married at home with no guests or at tartosa city hall.
Still cant believe how much of a shameless flop my wedding stories was🤣
I love it in every Sims game ❤
What mods etc were used to get sims 4 wedding to actually work 😂
So thats how you do it😅
sims 4 wedding is so chaotic
sims 4 would easily take the cake if it wasnt so buggy. i actually love being able to micro manage the wedding (not a fan of micro managing in other situations)
I'll say it: my last wedding in TS4 was ALMOST flawless. The only bug I had was with the flowers ;_; it took hours for my sim to gather people to catch it, and it never went on, so I canceled the action. But beside this little thing, everything else went great ♥
15:20 ooh la la, she had something with Don
And this romance bar with Don Lotario??🤨🤨
They can't stop flirting. Sims practically flirt with anyone that's breathing 😅❤
Maybe I should go ahead and cancel the wedding, and just buy wedding stories first 😭
How did you get them to sit in a chair and sit still in Sims 4 mine always sit on the ground in the middle of the Aisle
The Sims 4 MWS could’ve been SO good and EA dunked it AGAIN
Champagne is the most cursed item in Sims 2, not only it distracts sims too much but it also make them all pee, and peeing oneself is specially bad at parties
Thankfully there is a mod to disallow autonomous toasting
immediately yes to sims 2
you can introduce a Mrs. CrumpleBottom? 👵 🧥 👡
I love Sims 2 weddings, simple and effective! Sims 4 seems SO tedious to me >.
