The average score is 70% at the time when Tom made the video. When I attempted the quiz (when he uploaded) the average score was 69% and now with all the goes we have had as a community, the average score has dropped to 68%
That really shows what kind of people normally do these tests lol
Some people might do them and cheat so the real average is maybe around 55 per cent
65% now. I got 71% on my first attempt.

I remember I had a hardcore AP human geography teacher my final year of high school who made us memorize every country in africa, and every other continent. Im not as good with asia and europe anymore, but now I can proudly say I'm better than Tom at one single thing I've seen him do on this channel. African geography.

@@MH-tm7xv I was confused by how he seemed to know where the countries were after he made the guess so I kept rewinding and looking really closely for any changes on the screen when he made his guesses and was able to spot it
That zooming in to highlight the distance he was away was comic genius!

The order you get them makes a huge difference. I got Eswatini, Rwanda, The Gambia, Togo, Guinea-Bissau and Equatorial Guinea as my first six. I couldn't have picked it any better.
you can skip to next an back; finding Eswatini and Lesotho is a lot easier when you already have South Africa marked

i love this channel so much for the way he just speaks and keeps the editing as non intrusive as possible. every other youtuber nowadays zooms in on their face every other word and feels the need to edit something in at all times.

I will say im ok at geography
Felt confident in my Africa knowledge and tried the quiz before watching the video - on my first attempt i had 84%, which I hope isn't too shameful! Most proud of the Swaziland, Djibouti, and Togo picks, which were mostly luck considering I had no reference countries :)
84% is pretty good first try. 85% here haha. togo is indeed a tough one because there are no distinct geographical features to distinct it. if you look closely eswatini and lesotho stand out on the map quite a bit. good luck trying to get 100% ;)

i'm colourblind and had no clue the wrong countries were coming up red for a solid few minutes
I'm not colourblind and I can tell you that I had to rewind every time a country was highlighted red because it was so hard to spot it. They didn't exactly do a stellar job making it easily noticeable lol
@Evan Spevak I'm definitely not lol. What I mean is that because they made the colour overlays very transparent/subtle and didn't separate them in terms of lightness/darkness/contrast it wasn't easy to spot where a red dot popped up if you were focusing on the other part of the screen (aka where the cursor was). Obviously you can see if you focus or pause but it could have been done in a much more obvious/attention-grabbing way.

I love that he still doesn't realize after all these videos that you're allowed to skip countries and come back to them at the end after you've got the big ones.
I honestly think he realises but doesn't want to play that way, 'cause he just wants to give himself a bigger challenge. I'm sure there's unskippable quizzes with the same type of map though.
