After discussing the supremely unsettling footage of Rudy Giuliani in the new "Borat" movie, Stephen Colbert takes a moment to encourage Americans who might be considering keeping Donald Trump in office for four more years to remember the awful cruelties his administration has inflicted on families at the Southern border. #Colbert #Monologue #BetterKnowABallot

And 45 did it to be cruel, not to cope with the numbers. Children have died from neglect in those cages. If they were brought over by ‘fake parents’, then all the more reason to give them refuge and salvation instead leaving a toddler to DIE ON FUCKING CONCRETE FLOOR LIKE A STREET DOG.

    • Yes. This government is scarring thousands of people for life, just because. If you watch the video of a child who WAS reunited with his mother (part of an older John Oliver segment about this policy), the trauma this tiny human has experienced, his tears, his screams and night terrors, your heart breaks and breaks again. For him and his entire family. And that's AFTER reuniting. If any of these kids grow up to hate the US and want to harm its people or institutions, I will not fault them.

    • See you say that, but alot of these problems were systemic. Especially the racial and cult-like fanaticism of trump supporters. These people didn't just pop into existence 4 years ago. And the politicians who hitched their wagons to trumps shall we say "fascism inspired" train existed long before trump swaggered onto the political stage. A boring president would just mean we don't see this shit that's going on behind the scenes anymore, and I'm legit worried that's what Biden will be. Another tool to sweep the crap under the table. I'm actually a little saddened trump didn't win. I mean the man's an unmitigated monster who diserves biblical levels of punishment for his actions. But if he'd had 4 more years then the Democrats wouldn't have been able to run on "better than trump" as a selling point and actually put forward a politician preaching real change. Bernie could have got a real shot in. Because make no mistake the democratic party is as much to blame as the Republican one for Trump, maybe not his actions, but atleast his rise to power. They used political powerplays and manipulation to put Hilary up against him in 2016, they reduced poling stations and rigged the vote to make her the front runner in their primaries. Because they were "so sure" when it came down to it. That people would rather vote for her than Trump, surely trump was finished with all the scandals that had come out against him. When really, they fucked up because of one simple thing. Humans hate being lied to and manipulated. And when asked to pick between two candidates they didn't want. People are less likely to vote for the one who they felt had cheated her way to securing your vote. When the party you support who's meant to represent you and your interests goes "see we saw what you wanted, what you thought. And we dicided to go another way for our own benefit" the answer was always gonna be "fuck you, you clearly don't represent me then"

  • Over eight thousand voices, but I am so angry I need to add my two cents. Folks, if you were taking a trip and the airline lost your luggage, you would rightfully pitch a fit. You would have your ticket for the flight, the corresponding ticket for your luggage, and a system to track and trace both. THERE WAS MORE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR A DUFFLE BAG OF DIRTY CLOTHES AND TRAVEL TOILETRIES THAN A LIVING BREATHING CHILD...TIMES 2500. If they never found the bags, you could make a claim and at least see the monetary value of your possessions, at the loss of whatever sentimental value the missing items represented. The children were separated with little to no warning, scattered to the 4 winds in the middle of the night across this country, with tracking and identities lost, missing or even not bothering to register these kids into any system. What would you do? How would you find your kid? How would your little one find you? These children don't speak English; they might not even speak Spanish (many Central Americans speak indigenous languages- plural)! Then the government people won't tell you anything, and then they deport you without your kids...how much more outrageous can you get???? We can be thankful to the ACLU and other charitable organizations who have intervened and vow to find the parents of each and every child, but by now, they may only find a grave. What? Did you think these people were making the dangers up? Did you think that parents make thousand mile journeys through hostile areas just so they can buy Mickey Mouse ears at Disneyland? These parents have two choices: stay and die, or leave. So they leave for a chance at life, not merely a better financial situation. The 500 plus missing may not be alive, or may be hidden so that they can't be found. And if the idea was NOT to have hundreds of orphans who will now have to be reared and educated on the public dole and dime...well, he screwed that up too. Like Stephen Colbert, I too, refuse to believe that the American people are cruel or evil. This crap needs to stop, once and for all. VOTE BLUE NO MATTER WHO.
