Dwyane Wade Details LeBron James' Recruitment To Miami Heat & Sharing Their Contract Information

Dwyane Wade on recruiting LeBron James to the Miami Heat:
"I sat with LeBron face to face, and I could see it wasn't about scoring titles no more for him, the commercials, the MVPs, and all the things he had. He had that, but he was still empty inside, and he wanted and needed something else for his career. And me being one of his good friends, one of the best players in the league, me being a free agent at the same time, me being in a nice city at the same time, it was attractive. It was attractive, and it was sexy and we had an opportunity to sit down and talk about it."

Cause everyone always knew he had the potential but he had a certain mental block that he couldn't overcome and DWade being able to adjust his leadership from old school chewing you out, into pat-your-back encouraging leadership, it's truly underrated and what he did for Lebron's career. I don't think Lebron would've ever made that leap in his career without DWade. Maybe he'd get a ring in the future but I don't think whatever team he would've been on, he would've been able to figure out his mentality on his own that quickly, if ever.

  • People have to understand that Mavs team wasn’t a sleeper. They also swept the 2x champs in the finals (Kobe). They smacked OKC. I don’t think Lebron choked in the moment. Cause if you look at the series before that, Lebron was LEBRON. They beat MVP Derrick 🌹. They beat the BIG3 Celtics as well. I think Lebron just ran out of mental strength. Cause he been to the finals BEFORE the heat. Don’t forget he got swept by the spurs. But I think as he mentioned. He accepted that villain role. Which isn’t his persona. He ran out of mental energy. He did good the entire year, up to that last series. After that series…. He went to the finals like 9x right? 😂.

    @Tommy-hy1ob@Tommy-hy1ob7 ай бұрын
    • 1st of all. Heat got to the finals first, and won it. Wade finals mvp and they was the underdogs too. That was 06 dude. Bron got swept in 07. 2nd, stop with the delusion about Bron not choking that series, everybody agrees on that even Bron fans. He underperformed in the greatest stage. Stats far below his average and if you watched it, you'd also see it in his body language.

      @nine9_abyss@nine9_abyss7 ай бұрын
    • No that was part of the 9 final stretch. The villain role wouldn’t ever have been a problem had he not formed a super team to make it easy on himself. So no pity there.. did it to himself.

      @zr2610@zr26107 ай бұрын
    • @@nine9_abyss well context is everything. That heat team was better than that 07 cavs. Plus NO ONE in their right mind expected the cavs to beat the spurs 🙄. I don’t think he choked. I’m a huge Lebron fan. I think he simply lost it mentally. Cause that SAME playoffs he took out the bulls and big 3 Celtics. I’m sorry the big 3 Celtics was a huge load on him. They could never beat them, especially when they weren’t on the same team (Wade/Bron/bosh). Lebron had already been to the Olympics, finals, etc. It wasn’t the mavs.
