  • I live in Cape May; wish I knew you were in town. BTW Jersy Coast is a MAJOR migratory path for birds this time of year. A lot of beach replenishment in the spring I think they are dredges. Object on the beach is a WWII bunker protecting the Delaware bay. Enjoy the Flight Deck Diner.

  • Another South Jersey person here; I grew up on the river across from Philadelphia and now live up north between KEWR and KMMU. That big marshy area at 15:11 - north of AC and Brigantine - is the Edwin Forsyth National Wildlife Refuge. A huge number of birds spend a lot of time in there. My wife and I spend a lot of time birding in there. Also, Cape May itself is the birding capital of North America, especially during migration seasons in the spring and fall.

  • My mom was on the USCG 41-footers when she was in the Coast Guard Reserves out of the Channel Islands in Southern California. Being that she’d be on duty on weekends, most of their activity was rescuing recreational sailors and boaters out enjoying a day on the water when something wud go sideways on them and they required assistance. She loved that job and still remembers it fondly.

You’re right that it has a great FBO and the museum and café are well worth a visit-as is the beautiful town! And neat to hear you used to go down the shore as a youngster and trained at the USCG facility. (When I was a kid long ago in the ‘60s we went to Townsends Inlet and Sea Isle and our boardwalk was Ocean City-Wildwood was off limits literally because our strict parents felt Wildwood was…well…too wild!) • Steveo, I never knew you were a Jersey Boy (kind of)! That flight down the Jersey coastline has always been one of my favorites. Seaside and Ocean City, NJ were my childhood summer vacation spots in the 60's and 70's. That was wise to climb to 2000ft, I've passed many sea gulls "flying backwards" along the Jersey coast, as I flew past them at 500ft and 135mph (when I was young and foolish). I have a few Jersey and NY Coastline flights on my site if anyone is interested.

LOL I am by no means expert on fish and/or birds, but I would just guess all those birds indicates a large amount of bait-fish in the area they might be feeding on. Then all those "boats in a row" just might be fishing for larger fish, perhaps Blue Fin Tuns, that eat a lot of those bait-fish. Whales in the area might indicate that same thing, they like the bait-fish also. Very nice flight, enjoyed that!! TBM is my #1!! 8) --gary

I played golf all over south NJ in the area you flew over with my cousin. He lives very close to Eagles Nest Airport, Tuckerton. I never flew into ACY but I remember Air Force 1 doing touch and goes there as a kid. There is an Air National Guard base there too. Bader Field was a very small air strip in Atlantic City. They use to have Twin Otters flying in and out of it. From there they would to a short hop to EWR. It was operated by Southern Jersey airways now defuncted. Go to the Lobster House in Cape May, good eatin...Thank you for this Video Steveo!! Salt water taffy for every one.....

We HATE those people, and yes it was filmed in Seaside. They're an unfortunate necessary evil though because they really fuel the economy but they're insufferable lol 2. The lighthouse is Old Barney.. Barnegat light. It sits on the Barnegat Inlet. Fun fact: its a good solid hour+ car ride to get from the north side of the inlet to the south side of it
