  • It’s so important to remember your skin is an organ. Taking care of an organ is not effeminate or “gay” or “girly.” Having dry, acne ridden, wrinkly, blotchy skin doesn’t mean a man is more of a man. Your skin shows how you’re taking care of yourself and putting effort into your health and that is ATTRACTIVE! This also goes for putting a thick and moisturizing lotion on your hands, which is essential for keeping your hands from cracking and peeling. I’ll suggest Weleda Skin Food! My personal favorite of myself and my partner.

    • Skincare ingredients and extracts like green tea, oat, centella asiatica, niacinamide, etc. are great, along with a fragrance-free, hypoallergenic moisturizer. Korean and Japanese sunscreens are life-changing - in that case ideally double cleanse every night to effectively remove it off at the end of the day

  • Guy here. I can personally attest to how good microneedling is at regenerating skin and hair. I had a health issue for awhile that caused irritation to my colon which led to severe alleries and dry skin for several months. My hair started falling out pretty bad. Eventually I fixed the colon issue and the hair loss stopped but never grew back. Microneedling caused new hair growth immediately after the first treatment. Within 4 days I could see little hairs popping up. I repeated treatment every 2 weeks for about 2 months. My beard is thicker and my head hair now looks like I'm 17 again. And based on dietary nutrition and hormone levels my beard grows darker or lighter. You're going to want to use the electric pens instead of the dermarollers as they do less tearing of the skin surface so things heal faster. But, yea...I'm a big proponent of microneedling for skin/hair regrowth. And you can buy all the stuff you need online so you dont need to visit a med spa if you're courageous enough to practice needling yourself.

I do though think less is more though... dont overuse products... people always assume I'm early 20s and i say its due to these things. i think there's some evidence that a buildup of dead skin cells on the face acts as a protective layer in itself...

  • I would always recommend a good moisturizer and a strong sunblock. I buy my sunblock in a laser clinic, it's called Meloderm , it has a thicker consistency than drugstore sunblock and a nice smell , I would urge extreme caution on chemical peels , I know what they are and a lot of them require a recovery period. My advice would be stay away from them.

  • If you think about science, because of the exposure to carbon 14, our DNA and our cells are in constant decay so we need protein not only to build ourselves stronger and better, but to also maintain the degradation and slow down the aging process. Protein is significantly theeeee most important macronutrient and your body functions better with fatty animal proteins, since our brains are mostly fat and water

It didn’t do a perfect job, but it made a difference. I think my skin has gotten a lot better over the years from just eating healthy and drinking lots of water (and avoiding fast food at all costs). I’ll have to look into these products and see if I can make myself lose ok even better though 👍

  • Simple carbohydrates, and anything that raises blood sugar (glucose) excessively, causes wrinkles in your skin. This is because excessive free floating glucose in your blood harms your organs and other body tissues so your body attempts to store it quickly in any way that it can. If your blood sugar levels are so high that you body can’t shuttle it into your fat cells fast enough (by releasing insulin), some of this glucose will begin to get crosslinked in the collagen fibers in your skin. Since glucose isn’t stretchy like collagen is, this has the biomechanical effect of reducing the skin’s elasticity in the direction of the glucose cross link. You can think of this like fabrics or clothing that stretch in one direction but not another, eventually the skin won’t stretch anymore and can’t return to it’s unstretched state resulting in wrinkles over time. This effect is permanent as far as we know, but fasting methods may eventually remove these crosslinks through autophagy.

The best tips I have for controlling acne are 1) eliminate milk from your diet (it’s the hormones in the milk that cause problems), 2) use an astringent to clean your face, and 3) use a green tea mask stick to reduce blackheads. If you control the acne, oily skin is actually good-looking skin when you’re older.

  • Your channel is fantastic Courtney. You mentioned a relaxed animal diet for your protein. I learned that protein is made up of amino acids found primarily in plants, not animals. Chickens, cows, pigs, fish; even the strongest animals, like guerrillas, horses, and ox’s do not eat meat. Animals are a secondary source of protein. And processed meat is a #1 carcinogen. You can get a very efficient and high quality source of amino acids (or proteins in this case), or you can get a very inefficient and toxic form. And meat is very toxic and inefficient form in terms of us having to break protein down into amino acids, which we don’t have to do with plants. I learned this from Dr. Bobby Price, he’s also on KZhead

  • too keep it simple avoid PUFAs (vegetable oils - highly toxic, particularly linoleic acid), processed food, keep your mitochondria healthy (rabbit hole), eat as your great grand parents would. Carbs generally make oily products in your body - go figure. Right enuff of that righteous stuff go and have some fun outside with friends and family (and my poodle - the damm pest. LOL). NB Glycine is interesting for collagen synthesis. Fantastic content by the way - should have started with that.

  • Diet and water intake are perhaps the most important factors that contribute to skin health. External interventions like creams, serums, or moisturizers are more so band-aid solutions that temporarily address surface-level issues, but they don't actually target the root of the problem. Most people don't realize that their nutritional consumption is the cause of the bulk of their skin-related issues. Excess carbs are a giant contributor to inflammation, and not just to the skin. It also goes without saying that you should quit smoking if that's a habit you indulge in. Cancer sticks are the quickest way to facilitate premature aging.

  • I'm too manly for modern products that are estrogenic in the body. I'm not blessed with great skin either because of my Norse Germanic bloodline but the women don't complain and I would rather not rub chemicals into my skin that are not healthy for my hormones
