  • The time I saw a Shoebill in a video, I didn't believe it was real. They said very little about it, just a quick description and the name. Your whole video was just about the Shoebill! I think they're cute, I just hope they will be protected and not go extinct 🙏 Such a unique looking bird. Thank you so much for this video 😃

    • @@chehystpewpur4754 Yes I try to tell people this all the time, animal populations are never acccurate, we simply cannot account for how many there are. For example where I live sea turtles were thought to have been endangered for years but turns out there were massive groups of them, they just migrated away from where humans were.

  • My new favorite bird. The fact that they ensure the continuance of the species in ways that humans think is bad, is probably what's prevented their extinction, at the hands of those humans.

  • I couldn't believe when the shoebill actually flew. I thought it was a grounded bird like an ostrich or cassowary (which is another quite amazing creature). But hopefully that means there might some undiscovered populations of Shoebill nesting on remote islands.

    • In person they are fairly docile birds. Wild Animal park in san diego (safari park) you can encounter a shoe bill in there hiking trails in the bird area, it literally will walk up to you and you can tell its studying you. Park advises you not to pet it for obvious reasons. but for the most part it doesn't do anything but I would suggest you don't have food with you or anything it might wanna search for.
