The Misadventure 4WD Crew take the infamous shortcut track from Punsand Bay across to the Tip of Cape York.
Lot's of bogholes and recoveries in Part 1 to enjoy. Fantastic offloading in one of the most significant 4WD regions of Australia.
everyone on the mud : "man i'm getting stuck!!" defender : "i've never heard that name before"
it was a little embarrassing how easy she walked through that section after all the fuss :)
Once those lockers are engaged Layla seems pretty much unstoppable!. The D4 seemed to just walk straight through the sand at the start as well.
Great video! Can't wait for part 2; I have never been to cape York but will add to my list.
Now thats a one sick disco
Great vid guys. Thanks for sharing
Great vidoe guys
Love your work :)
trop cool very good 😀
Rubber duck.... Love it!
It became a bit of a thing on our Cape trip to play that at the start of each trek. Kids loved and ended up singing along.
convoy soundtrack, classic.
Lot of water about , did the same route in but the opposite direction last July 2016, was a lot drier then , only can remember 1 part that was muddy / wet. Bit tight towing a 4.2 m boat , still very rough in sections.
Land Rover is the best he never gets stuck
What did you do to prep the petrols for water crossing?
Other than the water tarps - nothing really
Does the Disco 2 and Mitsubishi have lockers? I know the disco does not have diff locks as standard.
Mitsubishi triton has Lockers front and rear. D2 has none.
+Misadventure 4WD. That disco 2, being a '99 MY shold have central diff lock and traction control. Wich is similar to having 3 diff locks. Doesn't it?? Cheers. Your videos are awesome. Go on that way. Thanks.
You are right in that it does have a centre diff lock just like the defenders do. It really only splits the torque to 50/50 front and rear instead of 60/40. Traction control on the defender and discos is no where near as sophisticated as on the Discovery 3, RRS etc. I've got the centre diff lock and traction control as well as front and rear lockers in the defender and have tried various combinations of them to see what works best. It's different in different situtations but he centre diff plus front and rear locker is definitely a step up from traction control.
+Misadventure 4WD. I Completely agree, as mechanical lockers alow you to drive a lot smoother and under control. Anyway, being "primitive" in the disco 2, traction control works really fine and fast, helping you to avoid touching levers in a lot of normal to medium difficulty situations. And that helps you not to loose time when changing from tarmac to gravel several times, for example. Cheers. Keep the good job up.
Do you ever get stuck with that Defender? hehe
unfortunately yes - but not too often ;)
Land Rover all the way 👍
As always my favorite Layla the Mitsubishi Triton
Mitsubishi lockers :-)

Lol GTA 5 song .....
Note to self don't buy a challenger they get stuck way to easy i think i will just stick with my jeep
I had a Challenger for 6 years. Did the Crebb Track. Strezlecki to Innaminka then on to Birdsville. What have you got and where have you taken it? Probably nowhere's my guess
+rob brighton you are a little late on replying but this is my personal opinion and i said nothing about taking it places i said how much it gets stuck read the comment before you reply
