  • imo, these points are wayyyy more interesting than most men's or women's singles matches; or even men's dubs which is just usually big serve followed by a put-away volley

  • Aoyama and Shibahara are so aggressive at the net. It looked like Barbora and Katerina did their homework and neutralized that aggressiveness a bit by lobbing over the net person. Well done to both teams.

  • Aoyama is 35 years old but she is super gutsy player! Although Japan lost but they're never say die attitude makes them a great pair!

  • In my opinion the most impressive thing about Krejcikova/Siniakova is Katas netgame. It is brutal, it is mean, but it is very effective.

  • The Czechs are best doubles in the world right now. Congratulations. The Japanese players , an amazing job, also. Aoyama regardless her height is absolutely amazing. Such a dynamic player. Two hands on both sides..I teach several girls who hit in that way...

  • No disrespect to Shibahara, but Aoyama really needs a tall and powerful partner such as Rybakina.

    • but I highly doubt it if even Rybakina and Pavlyuchenkova who have more success as a team, couldn't beat this Czech team.

  • I saw the whole match The Japanese women tried, but they were not good enough in spite of the fact that this was likely not the best play by the Czechs. Krejcikova made quite a few mistakes. What I did not like was the verbal consultations before each serve. This wasted time and made the match a bit boring. These players play together for long time and should know what they want to do without talking about it before each serve. Another anoying act at every match is the delay after the first game. The rules calling for changing the court side withou stopping should be enforced. One does not need to sip from two bottles and towel after a four-minute play.
