  • It's great to see you showing off your hard work, Rich. You must be so incredibly proud of this truck, it's been a labor of love and taken a lot of ingenuity and willpower to get it from a rotting hulk in a farmer's field to this showpiece in a parade pulling your own tank. I'm always such a big fan of what you're doing, and I love that Vince was a part of the parade too - I know this project would never have happened without him either, especially that amazing exhaust/intake rack.

  • Thank you so much for restoration of those classic cab overs. Especially the (KW) the two young men, doing the details, what great young men. There work A+, especially when you look at it before and after. The joy the kids must have seen with that (Tracked) PU/Tank truck haul you showed off. That's why I did a Restoration on my 71 SeaGrave with 8-71 Detroit/5 speed. The Kids Love sitting in drivers seat. Making siren noses. Lots of parents ask me " Wow it's a manual transmission" young parents don't realize there was a time when all Firefighting Rigs had Manuals. Your attention to details is the best. I hooked up a Electric Horn to my steering wheel, so the Horn blows even with no AIR pressure built up for Air horn. It's so easy getting behind gages on older Fire Rigs. But boy what a maze of wires, there was duel everything Plus the wires where double for Horn/Siren switch's for steering wheel. It actually overheated the wires at button on horn, being it controlled the big Federal Q Siren. It had been Jerry rigged when I bought Engine. They had this big disconnect switch just hanging under Dash. They ran too small of wire size to horn button, someone after FD had surplus Engine wiring up a Electric connection with undersized wires. There was lots of corroded wires at connection, RUST ect.

  • nice build...if I may make a suggestion: the K100 was notorious for the dash catching fire...they used poor insulation on the wiring. if you are seriously considering putting that truck OTR the please ***go through and completely re wire the dash and fuse box all the way to the batteries*** and also put in a cab power kill switch.

That GMC fullsize pickup on the trailer, those third generation GMC & Chevrolet C/K series pickups with the crew cabs are rare nowadays too, but the regular cab ones on the other hand I still see out on the roads today, not many of the stepsides but a lot of the fleetsides.
