The former CIA Director is speaking as if he had been the Director of Mossad. It is in no one's interest to escalate this, especially since no Israelis died in Iran's retaliation, and this can be over now. Peace is cheap now, so why should we make it expensive by attacking Iran?

Russian Army collapse still could happen, and if Ukraine had the resources (air, arty, etc) to press home their recent offensive, maybe it would have. What we learned: Russians better on defense than offense. Blocking troops, while immoral, work. They do not have the capabilities to engage Iran in an all out military conflict. All experts agree, they would hands down lose. What they are doing could drag US Troops into the fold.

I don't think that it's necessarily that straight forward. So far Iran is looking like their intelligence is at least very poor. They should have known that in order for that saturation attack to be effective they would have needed to prepare the battlefield first so they wouldn't have been facing the full strength of the Israeli air defense system

Moreover, the utility of their US provisioned aircraft is rendered useless when the target is out of the fuel range of your aircraft and you have no means of refueling. They will rely on Western European Military allowing them to use their bases or mid-air refueling capabilities. They have no notable ballistic missiles other than what the US will sell them. They have no notable naval assets. Let me ask you, how much oil do they produce and refine? How would they move mechanized vehicles thousands of miles to a battle field? Would they ask the US Navy to give them a ride? Think about it.

Israel's military (and intelligence) if far superior to Iran's, and as a previous commenter noted, Israel has nuclear weapons.
