I'd say they screwed the old man over because Heavy D said that he wasn't going to take any of the garbage or junk and he trashed a bunch of stuff that he didn't even go through and dumped huge boxes of possible valuable things off the top shelves sure the old man got 15 grand but I think Heavy D left him more than $15,000 worth of a mess to deal with

You might be surprised how many people would go through all that stuff and pay him money for the stuff he thought was junk.
This is true, but he is monetizing this video which makes him money and he has a large audience and fanbase making the selling aspect slightly easier.

Loved the video. We do pretty much the same thing when an opportunity comes up. Nothing like the powerful smell of rodents and moldy stuff along with some 12 + hour days but the interesting stuff makes it worth doing and mostly profitable. The discovery part is never boring, the sorting and selling is harder work. Risk and reward. If it was everyone would be doing it.

That was a once in a lifetime deal right there!! My grandfather had quite the collection too, and he passed away in 2005, and everyone worked for days (probably weeks) to get it to where it was ready for auction. I can only imagine what all was in that warehouse!😁👍
Same. We found an old tool box in gramps basement full of baby food jars. Every one of them stuffed with rolls of hundred-dollar bills, total of +$30k

I love when you show different things. Shows your willing to help out and profit. Many years back I was a trucker. Hauled some crates fro Toronto to some where in PA. To a dead end warehouse. I was surprised at what was in there. Military Jeep’s and things I couldn’t see because it was covered. The few guys that worked there said this stuff will never leave
And now its abandoned and falling apart with all the stuff inside it rotted and rusted due to misers, i bet.

I used to do salvage in the mid 80's and learned how to 'wheel and deal' with all sorts of stuff from various industries, from military, medical, and marine, to commercial electrical & transformers, boilers to printing presses, and much more. I compiled a database of buyers and brokers. Some in CA, the rest scattered around the USA. I also went to about 12 - 20 trade shows of many diverse industries almost every year for near 30 years, so I have connections all over the planet, as well! Now that I live near these guys (just down the 15 a bit), I'm willing to help them in some way.

Got into one of these deals several years ago. An old auto parts store warehouse. I boxed everything up and put it on pallets. It was sold even before I was done two times, with the last time unseen. I knew what was there and the final price somebody gave for it, and will say they come out on the short end of the deal. Glad to see you guys come out ahead.

Closest thing to this was cleaning out my grandparent's attic. There were books upon books from the 1800's! An Original copy of Molby Dick, Swiss Family Robinson, The Log book of one of our settler ancestors and much, much more. We donated them to the conservation program at the Indiana Historical Society.

Well the boys kinda behaved like dudebros so no wonder they missed that part, the old man was prob pretty gleeful about that part, now he can sell them
When my grandfather died grandmother went through his desk and found a deed to a property so her and my mother went to check it out and on the property was a lone garage that they couldn't get in to grandfather had it locked up good so I got a call to meet them there to bring prybars and a sledgehammer so I went and tried for 2 days before I finally figured out a way in and couldn't believe what was inside it was really dark because all the windows were covered with plywood and the doors were screwed shut but I could barely make out the shape of 2 cars stashed in a corner walked a little closer and seen that they were old really old finally i managed to get 1 of the big doors opened up and got a little light in there and seen a model a and a model t I couldn't believe what I was looking at then I called my brother and had him come to help me move them and try to get them outside when we started to move the a we noticed that it was covered in bullet holes and I remember telling grandmother about the bullet holes and she just laughed and started to tell us a crazy story about my grandfather having ties to Chicago mobsters he was a engineer for the railroad and when mobsters had some heat from the police that they would take trains out to Toledo Ohio (that's where we live) and instead of taking passenger trains they would ride on coal trains in the engine car with the engineer and I guess grandfather had helped more than 1 mobster in his time and grandmother thought that the cars were from 1 of them and probably paid grandfather to get rid of them but him being a gearhead couldn't bring himself to destroy the cars so instead he just made them disappear and told nobody about it until we found them we had a cousin who was a police officer so we found a license plate for the model a and my cousin said that it was registered to pretty boy Floyd who after doing some research on him found out that he used to come to Toledo a lot in fact had a girlfriend here and actually was killed here by police i was floored by this she actually sold the cars and because of the mobster connection she got a lot of money for both cars never found out who the other car belonged to i guess they never had it registered ever grandmother said that grandfather used to run moonshine to Canada when the lake would freeze they would drive over the ice crazy apparently grandfather was a bad ass and noone ever knew miss you grandpa think about you a lot RIP you badass

Great video, loved what you did for the man. I would think you put everything through a rough sort, then detail each category into "sell" or "keep" piles. Then take pictures and hire a computer person to post the stuff and track your sales. Best of luck. Would love to see the process you go through to liquidate everything.

This was a great video. I think it was worth it for you because of the youtube channel. If someone else had bought that warehouse though, they would of came out with a net loss. 15k purchase + another 5-10k for labor and equipment costs, plus landfill disposal. Most people would of had a hard time breaking even.

Awesome video. During the end interview I couldn’t look over the fact the forklift operator drove with the forks loaded while extended up. Always travel with forks at lowest possible point and only raise forks for loading. Keep it safe I like seeing the videos.
