Can Quentin Tarantino Guess Movies by ONLY Hearing the VHS Box Description?

2021 ж. 29 Мау.

    • @Monkfrey Guboonz his movies honestly just aren't for everyone. I just don't get most of his films, even his classics like Pulp Fiction (I tried, just me, I really tried). I almost always come out enjoying the film and acknowledging its value (again, going back to Pulp Fiction), but I've never been one to be eager to rewatch his films, nor have I ever considered myself an actual fan of any of his movies. I'm just a fan of the guy himself Now, all that being said: I absolutely loved Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

    • @@matthewlee4834 I would invite him for a drink and time on me because he is knowledgable person and, let's face it, acheived some remarkable achievements but for me and me alone, he didn't give something unique to the cinema world and history like Sam Pekinpah for example, who has a massive influence on Tarantino's films and you can clearly see it. Or unique and original like Christopher Nolan, Guillermo del .Toro and Tim Burton in my opinion. As you said, he has ok films but not something that you would watch again like Nolan's Tenet or The Dark Knight for example.

I called the local Blockbuster to ask if they had it in stock and it seemed like they were taking awhile to look it up. I clarified I needed the original, not the remake with Vince Vaughn - "you know, the one by Alfred Hitchcock?" The clerk replied, "Who is Alfred Hitchcock?"

  • I worked at a few video stores in the mid-90s, and I can tell you with ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY that just about every video store had an employee who soaked up as many movies as possible. We weren't allowed to take home "new releases" but we could check out as many older movies that we wanted (within reason) & there was always a kind of socially awkward but incredibly popular guy who would take stacks home & exchange them all the next day. As a fellow video store employee, I have no doubt Quentin was one of those guys, but on an unmatched level. In the far-flung future, Tarantino will be remembered as one of the greats alongside such luminaries as Kubrick, Hitchcock, Welles, Kazan, Coppola, & Scorsese. That being said, I think he'd be just as flattered to be compared with Jack Hill, Ralph Bakshi, & Roger Corman.
