Yes The Paj are bullet proof - Gottta luv Shortie too (NT 220k KMs zero issues since new…..on the beach daily …. very few better after lift, snorkel, bash plates, bull bar, rock sliders & 4wd tiyres 💥) fitting of bar & winch both on KZhead @tightatours may help you fit your own 👍. (Luv my NX LWB too but prefer SWB by far for off road👌). Tune may help but SWB has power to burn on Bch / regular recovery of others 🙄🦆👍. Nice clip & Paj 👏

I used to own a short wheel base NS Pajero! I wish I still had it but unfortunately I couldn't afford to keep it. The injectors were rooted and I couldn't afford new ones. Would definitely own another one in a heart beat!
How many ks on it?
I'm about to buy one with absolutely no knowledge of 4x4 or mechanics ,, is there a way to check injectors before I buy - any tips would be great
@@eyesopen8614watch out for rough idle, misfiring, sluggish acceleration and pickup, along with excessive fuel consumption, etc. A little trick you can do if the injectors are easily accessible is with the engine running, grab a long metal screwdriver and put the tip against the injector. Put your ear on the handle of the screwdriver and listen for a consistent click. If you can’t hear that or it’s weak, they might be shot or need a clean.

Hey mate, not sure what you mean there. We carried out an on-car chemical soot clean to it so the intake is now nice & clean.
@@UltimateDieselTuning I would love to see you guys pull apart one of these chemically cleaned intakes to see how much stuff is left over. Pretty well known in Pajero circles that best way to go is full manifold off clean. Does the chemical clean work? Maybe. Is it the best way or totally clean? No. Not to mention if it has a DPF (which the NT doesn't) all the carbon that gets in that.
@@Smash_Moore manifold off is very messy, requires replacement parts & does not get it off the valves inside the cylinder head, whereas a chemical clean does. The only other way to get it off the valves is to remove the cylinder head, which is a huge job & expensive, requiring a lot of replacement parts & a head machine to reassemble. We spent years testing different chemicals & came up with our own concoction that 100% works. We have other videos on our KZhead channel on our method of soot cleaning that you can check out. The DPF is a completely different system to the EGR system. However we do do forced burns on DPF-equipped vehicles prior to tuning.
Damn with almost a third improvement in power its gotta have worked !! I've recently manifold off , scraped the smeg off the inlet tract , i know for certain i didn't scrape down as far as the valve tops & the crud i got out you wouldn't believe!! Needless to say - the eg fuckin r is now blanked the fuck off !!
@@Smash_Moore yes. We have spent a lot of time with R&D of our soot cleaning machines. Of course they work. Some cars still do require the manifold to be pulled off, if they are really sooted-up, but most don't. We have an inspection camera that we send in to have a look with some models. If you do a manual clean then there will still be soot present on the valves inside the cylinder head, so the job isn't totally done. The DPF system is a completely different system!

That's a great performance improvement I have few questions Do you recommend a performance mod on a vehicle under warranty as I assume the manufacturers warranty becomes void. Does the engine still meet emission regulations and do you recommend transmission or drivetrain upgrades with the additional power I just can't see how a manufacturer can have 30% more capability down stream of the engine
Hi there. No, the warranty is NOT void or affected. Most of the vehicles that we custom dyno tune are all still under warranty with no issues whatsoever with regards to warranty. No drivetrain or transmission upgrades are required with a Pajero.
Pretty impressive gains, but im curious how far is this pushing the engine? is there a safety margin built in to this so that its not just a fast track way to kill the 4m41 or could the tune be taken a lot further?
Hi there, we always tune/remap the ECU within the factory safety parameters that are set by the manufacturer. So it's nice & safe. So yes, there is a safety margin built-in.
4m41 is bulletproof. Have a look what Indonesians are doing with the 4m41. Doubling the power on stock internals with ease and reliably

I'm getting a 2001 3.2 Pajero soon with 240 000ks planning on having few things done to it aswell as looking into a few things. How much does this kind of clean/tune cost? Also I'm curious with a gearbox conversion as I've got access to a 3.2 Triton 6spd manual and had the thought that maybe the gearbox would fit in and replace a Pajero 3.2 5spd gearbox? Wondering if anyone has any idea if they fit?
Hey Mat! Sorry for the delay mate. Unfortunately we only deal with the common rail turbo diesel engine here, which are found in the modern/newer models. So we can't help you there sorry.
Hi I have the same Pajero as the 07 Moble in your video. Mine has 325000 kms on it. Would I be right to get the same thing done to mine
We would have to do a full inspection on it beforehand, to ensure that it is in very good mechanical condition. At the very least, it will need the intake manifold cleaned out. Best to give us a buzz on 0736380242 and chat to one of our quoting guys about your Pajero mate.

Does anyone know what mags are on this car? I'm getting myself a grey pajero like this one very soon and would love these wheels on it.
They are 17” Hussla Ambush rims with a matt finish. The tyres are Monsta Terrain Grippers 265/70r17

After just being charged over $1400 to remove and clean the intake in my Paj, then told it'll be another $1250 for a tune at one of your competitors in SA, I'd be interested to know if you can offer a second opinion if you have a SA store? Didn't get the tune after the first $$ sting!
That pricing sounds about right to be honest. Intake cleaning isn't cheap - if it is, then it won't be done properly. Same with tuning. We don't have a store in SA sorry mate.

Does EGR deleting actually help alot?(realise it's not road legal) Or is a catch can enough?
If you do a catch can you don’t need a egr block. It’s the egr mixing with oily blow by that makes the carbon block up
To stop the soot build-up issue, yes.

Does tuning effect fuel economy?
It is reliant on driving style, but most of our customers report back anywhere between a 5-10% improvement in fuel economy.
Is It safe for engine and gearbox?
Yes, sure is.

How long do you hold tune files for? I had my Ns done a few years back and after Mitsubishi did the airbags it come back feeling like it did pre tune. I rang the store who did it and they told me I would have to pay again as the file is too old is this correct? I was told at the time I could come back and get the file reloaded if this ever happened.
HI Jason, yes we did tune your car back in November 2016, we keep both the original file and the finished tune file for all the cars we tune. The only reason we would not reload the tune back in without dyno testing the vehicle is if the vehicle has had new Injectors or Turbo fitted etc. If this is the case we will want to re tune the car to suit the new engine components.
@@UltimateDieselTuning Can the tune really be wiped from the car after Mitsubishi have been working on it? What do they do that causes that to happen?
@@dustycups if they do an ECU update, then yes that can happen. Best thing to do is to tell them to NOT do any updates to the ECU, at the time of dropping off the vehicle to them.

these are direct injection not common rail, from my understanding. a shame they didn't do a common rail variant, like ford did with the ranger. that would have done well
The NS Pajeros ran the common rail 4M41 3.2L engine.The NM & NP ones ran the DI 3.2L engines.

How can you think this is good? When my antiquated Isuzu 4bd1 built by me and tuned by me makes 200hp and 700nm of torque with no smoke and gets 10L/100 on 35s in a defender!?
Hi there Sprocket Diver. A couple of things here. #1 Never compare dyno figures - as a "tuner" you should know that there are way too many variables to do this. #2 We never tune to achieve maximum power & torque, we tune for an improved driving experience, concentrating on the vehicle and what it's being used for. And finally, the best part - #3 This is a 3.2 litre 4M41 engine, you are comparing this with a 4BD1, which is a totally different engine. Cheers!
You do realise you peanut @sprocket diver that these are 2 totally different engines and set ups. You are comparing what was a non turbo engine with a far more modern engine. I don’t even know where to begin haha. You are comparing apples and oranges. Wow 200hp and 700nm do you want a medal or something. Try give yourself a pat on the back haha. I’d hate to think what you have spent along with the time etc to get it to 200hp. Imagine knowing that a far more modern diesel motor with a good tune and a few small mods can crack close to and in some cases upwards of 200hp.
Why would you compare different engines on a different dyno? It’s a stock Pajero with nothing but a tune.

Никакой конкретики. Можно было улучшить также как сделан мотор на 200 сил, там в стоке 440 нм и его улучшить например. А так получается полная хрень
так там впускной коллектор другой с вихревыми заслонками и турбина с изменяемой геометрией, так что сделать так же мощно не получится, или станет ездить просто не удобно и уменьшится ресурс. Возможно там и форсунки другие, но это не точно.
Chemical soot cleans don’t work
Ours certainly do work mate! We spent years developing the right concoction of chemicals so that it does in fact work. Other machines though - you have a point with them lol
