    • In Europe that is quite common. I live in Denmark, and you learn 3 just in mandatory schooling (danish, english and german/french) Some will, in high school, pick up a 4. language. I took a course with a Zimbabwian dude, who spoke 7 languages. Including something called Xhosa, which he would often use as a party-trick as it involves clicking your tongue instead of certain letters.

    • that is a challenge at first. what I'm having trouble with now are the vowel sounds: a and o look different but sound the same, english "short 'o'"; e is not e but "-ye-"; I can't hear the difference between the 2 backwards-N "i" sounds; and there are entirely separate individual symbols for vowel diphthongs that we just pile letters together for. "bI"? "yrh,"i guess? & I've studied a bunch of languages, including hebrew which is an entirely different writing system, so i don't know why these vowels are stumping me.
