What size hook are you using
Thankfully you help me because I don’t have a dad.
Bro salt water rig
What’s the best bait to rig up like that? I’ve tried a bunch but none of them have work that well.
Can a one inch hook work
Caught my wife with that rig
Is it your new pb
I also tend to catch seaweed when fishing
I also caught ur wife with that rig
Yeah but the question is, are you wishing you would have thrown her back now? If only i had known my first one was a trash fish when i caught her... now i just catch and release only.
Gem
A tip to the people from someone who used this rig a lot as a beginner: I was also told about the "reel in very slowly" action however through personal experience this works best with curly tails, lizards, or anything with the curly bits. When using stick worms or worms with no curly bits I recommend casting into an area with a lot of cover (weeds, rocks, fallen trees, etc.) then allowing it to sink to the bottom. If you picked the right bait and you dropped it right next a fish there's a good chance they'll strike immediately. Otherwise let it sit on the bottom for just a few seconds. (count to 3 or 5) then give it a sharp twitch, or a good little yank upwards to pop it off the bottom. Reel in the slack carefully and allow it to sink again. If you have the right bait and there are fish about where you cast then you should get a bite every other cast.
Exactly. Gotta pop and let it drop in the pockets and on the retrieve
I’m new to fishing and I really appreciate this
If you’re using flukes, you can work them sorta like a jerk bait. I’ve also learned how to retrieve the bait on top of the water without reeling too fast, but it works best (for me) with lizards.
jep, experienced it similar so far 👍
I was just about to comment the same thing, good call!
I’ve never heard a rig called gas but ima start using it 🤣
Right I thought I was trippin when i heard em say it😂
Good As Shit
Get a black lizard with a green tail, put a bullet weight above the hook and hook the lizard in the front.. then toss right next to the shoreline near overhanging bushes Oh yeah, and don't forget to cover it in gas.
That new slang boys
Been trying to fish the grass flats with just a normal jig setup and I catch a big clump of grass every time. I feel like this setup will be my new best friend
Awesome, thanks for the advice. I really appreciate it and everything else you put out. God bless!
Thanks dana!
@@Tackle2thePeople what rod are you using in this video?

Used a weighted Texas Rigged Black/Blue Senko Earlier and casted to the fountain in my local neighborhood pond. Casted perfectly, hitting just on the outskirts of the water and I felt a "b- b- BAM", I let him tighten my line, and set the hook. Thiught I was snagged for a second, but though, "This is déjà vu, this is a fish." Never saw a bass bigger than 3 pounds jump before. 4 Pounder jumped and it was awesome! On a medium Rod! Pulled drag and faught like h*ll. Dink catcher, but also a giant catcher. Second best.
Got my PB on a Texas rigged ned rig craw today, 6 pounder!!
Congrats Jack
Nice job!
Weightless or weighted?
Congratulations, Jack! That’s a nice bass! The Texas Rig did me right tonight, too. I threw jigs, whopper ploppers, frogs, and swim baits for 3 hours without so much as a bite. I finally paddled over to my favorite spot around 11 tonight and covered the area twice with top water. When the whopper plopper and frog failed to produce any action, I finally decided to tie one of these green pumpkin 4” Senkos I grabbed the other day by mistake. I Texas rigged it with a 3/8 bullet weight. Then I tossed it into a 4-6’ wide channel that runs between the milfoil and a rock hillside, back toward the mouth of the creek that feeds the lake. On the third cast, I got absolutely lit up by what proved to be the hardest hit of the night. I had been distracted by another bass nailing a some unknown prey right next to my kayak and I missed the hook set. I worked that spot three more times with a fresh Senko before casting about fifteen yards further down the channel beneath a small shade tree that sticks out from the rock wall. I knew that in previous years that the day time bass frequented a pocket there and had a feeling I might get lucky. On the second cast, I got hit on the drop by a 3. He had some spirit and fought like a fish twice his size. Once I had him off the hook, I had to take a minute to admire how beautiful he was. He had a deep forest green color and looked to be in excellent heath. When I released him back into the lake, he showed me he still had a little fight left by soaking me before swimming away. Overall I was very happy with that fish being my first bass since I stored my rods a week before deer season in 2020. After I got him back in the water, I worked the area near that pocket for about five more minutes missing one more strike before finally hooking into my second fish of the night. This time, I was working a new Senko along the outside edge of that same pocket just outside the milfoil. After my third set of action, a slightly longer spawned out female hit on the pause. After dragging her out of the milfoil I found that she had managed to inhale just the tip and barb on my hook. She was already in less than ideal shape and removing the hook took longer than I would have liked, so I didn’t take the time to get a weight on her. I just wanted to get her back in the water. I continued down toward the end of the channel where I got drilled on the drop again. This time, my line snapped on the hook set. I hadn’t retied after my last two fish, and it cost me. I decided to look for a big bite and set up another Texas Rig, this time weightless with a 7” Senko. It was after midnight at this point and I wanted to look for one big bite before heading back to the boat launch. I got three strikes on this set up, but missed all three hooksets. The hook I used was just a bit too small for the longer worm and it cost me. The Texas Rig is the first bass fishing method my dad taught me and it’s still how I catch 75% of my fish 16 years later.
Ayyyyy🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾🔥🔥🔥
Great video! I would put the green part on top and the white part of the bait on bottom. Fish are always darker on top.
I looked for this comment before I put mine on here. Exactly my thoughts.

@@Tackle2thePeople you make great videos man, keep up your awesome work 💪
I go weightless 0.0000001% of the time. Try it on a 1/8 or 3/32 swim bait hook. VERY SELDOM do I roll without weight. That small amount of weight will give your bait new life.
@@alexfamie5255 I get so bored so fast with a weightless fluke😆 I know it works but I loose interest too fast
Same here man. You can't go wrong.
New sub as of a few minutes ago. I love this channel already. You clearly answer the questions I have and folks act like are a secret. You just made me want to get out in this rain and fish! Heading to check out other videos.
Texas Rig is my go to for bass fishing. I usually use 7" stick baits. The little lakes around me are super weedy so I like to bury the end of my hook inside the stick bait to make it truly weedless. I've heard people claim it makes it harder to set the hook, but I haven't ever had an issue.
I always bury my hook, weed less and better through trees and stumps.
I tried worms all last spring and got squat. Dude hopped in my spot and pulled a fatty out with a jig lol
story of my life.
Use live bait never fails.
@@brianfitch5469 I haven't had much luck with bass using live bait - only on certain bodies of water. Caught thousands of bluegill and catfish, though lol
Carolina rigs got perfect action for imitating a crawdad, the feeling of having that fake crawdad scurrying around the rocks is so dope it’s like you’re a puppeteer.
This is always my go to on slow fishing days.
Texas rig has changed my fishing completely
If it’s choppy this rig is great with a cone leader too. Just caught some bass with it last week. Works great with boot tailed flukes
Unlocked the weightless texas rig earlier this year…..it just works. They tear that thing up fr 😭😭
Still one of the absolute best ways to fish. So simple and VERY effective!
Love that rig. I throw a stick bait on there and let it sit there slowly lifting my rod up to keep slight tension so I can feel the light bite. When I do a nice hook set. One thing worth mentioning is that the bait you put in needs to remain mostly straight from the eye to the point. When you poke through initially it needs to be about the same depth as the hook point before it bends then poke through so have it sit right on the hook. This is my favorite largemouth bass setup.
You baited the hook so smooth 😂 dexterity level 100
Thanks everyone for your tips in all your comments love fishing and l never stop learning always open to try new rigs and baits ✌️
I’ve been fishing for 12 years and this is still my favorite rig
A simple 1/16 oz bullet weight and a worm, very slowly bump it across the bottom. To bump it all you need to do is make small twitches towards you with your rod. Very effective , will get you a nice bass , especially if you are just starting off . ( This coming from a person who has only been fishing a few years.) I highly recommend this to all beginners. Also man you make great videos , I watch your shorts often, they are very well put together I am going to start checking out your channel for longer content
Versatility is an understatement. You can work it slow or you can work it fast. You can replicate injured prey in a current or twitch it on the lake bottom. If you point the tip down while you twitch, you can replicate a topwater lure, and if you invert the rod to your side, you can make it a topwater lure with a popping sound effect.
Yep. I use lighter brown flukes with sparkles the same way and smash fish all day. Great video, very informative.
There is also twist lock hooks that you can twist them on and then make it into a texas rig
My favorite setup. Also quite like drop shot especially with live bait
Works great! Caught some bass yesterday with my son with this rig; works great, and super easy where the kids are able to do it without poking themselves.
I am definitely not a beginner to fishing, my pb is a 18 lb king salmon, but i am a beginner to bass fishing and don’t know what setup to use, so i will try this, thanks. I am only 11 though so i have plenty of time to fish in my life, but i had no help at all catching that king
You'll definitely enjoy bass fishing but you will always have better memories of salmon or trout fishing. In my opinion. The scenery is beautiful and more relaxing generally.

Great set up dude 👏 good job on your video 📹 👏
Beautiful presentation 🙌🏼💪🏼
Them curly tails are so underrated you can catch about anything on em and you get so many bites
Thank you these are always useful Will you show us a Carolina rig too please and thank you
thanks for the info on a good beginner setup i am a beginner at bass fishing and started last year this helps i will try it next time i go fishing!
I run this setup for bass in the weeds, I also keep 18ga brad nails to add extra weight, I will slide different brads into the head of the worm, it gives it more of a jig head feel and presentation keeping it weedless
Yes this is both my favorite you said it. Listen to how he said slow as you can stop reeling let the weight of the line make slack reel the slack as the line drops
“Look at that action in the tail” Tail: barely moves
I agree. I texas rig 99% of the time, and it CATCHES
Your actually meant to keep the tip of the hook inside the rubber, the way your doing it can still snag. Fish have a powerful bike when they strike so biting through the rubber is like us biting into a banana, that's how you rig a weed less, always bury the hook.
It’s not necessary though. A lot of people don’t rig it weedless because of where they are fishing just to get that better hook set
@@mattchartrand7676 the silicon that the lures are made from are soft enough for a fish to bite through very easily. And the whole point of a weed less hook is to keep the tip covered! So YES it is necessary lad. I'm a 45 year old fisherman who fished since he was 11, and NEVER have I ever seen a weed less set up with the hook protruding out the side! A hook protruding out the side defeats the whole idea of it being a weedless set up!
Actually I have competed in the bass master classic tournaments and you talk to any of them there and the prefer to stick the hook out all the way for the hook sets will be better. And yes it is rubber but you miss more fishing if you leave it in the rubber compared to sticking it in and poking it back in a little bit. It also not silicone and it is more like a rubber.
@@lancemosher8159 I don't care if you've competed in the world bass championships, the whole idea of a weedless hook is to hide the tip of the hook from snagging things. And silicon is more durable than rubber, unless your using the cheap shit. Competing isn't winning either, I bet the ones who won had a couple of secrets they never shared with you either. I didn't have to tell you about this either, and my strength I the hobby is rock hopping, which involves fishing very rough grounds.
If there’s weeds bury the hook. If not leave it out. Idk why this is even an argument. Fishing for 45 years you should know this is based on preference. If you don’t mind breaking off every now and then leave it out. If you’re a smooth handed baby that doesn’t like tying then bury it🤣

That's the rig I use most and it's caught me fish basically everytime I go out fishing. Weightless and weighted. Truly an awesome rig and I usually put a crawdad or senko on it
Reel slow, I was taught to jig them across them bottom to mimic a crawfish or small minnow, if its sandy bottom reel slow while its dragging the bottom to ster up settlement
Thank you I always knew how to rig it but this made it way easier for me
The way he let the fish go in the beginning🥵
My grandpa taught me that technique and u didn’t trust him, now I do :) Love you gramps!❤
I use the “bump bump reel” method where you jig it up twice, let it fall, and reel
As a texan a Texas rig is not commonly weightless
Yep was all I used until I felt comfortable fishing on my own
Awesome, love the videos. very informational👌👌
That's the way I learned how to bass fish, but with a bullet weight added. My biggest catch came off of a simple red spinner bait, though.
Hook up a zoom trickworm the same weedless style also with no weight and you'll catch an unreasonable amount of fish. The worms movement when jigged resembles a dying fish and nearly forces a bite on many species
Great video thanks 😊
Been using this for years. It catches fish, period.
Opening my phone to this after putting three crazy children to bed makes me happy.
Very nice I will try it but to this day I prefer using double treble crankbaits. Firetiger and chrome lures, especially Berkley Flicker Shad. It has rattles, nice color, great roll with a double swivel, and comes in various sizes.
Great rig for new fishermen! And well, ones that aren't so new too!
I actually will cast let it fall.. then wait about 30 seconds pick up til about surface and then let it fall again.. reeling in the slack as it’s falling.. bass gonna hit on the fall or when it’s actually on the bottom.. I like to put a bullet weight on for crawdads n what not
I do the same, and you are 100 percent right!
Great ideas! Thank you! Happy fishing all!💯😎
I always use Texas rig. Super simple and always works!
I've heard of it but never tried it, I would if my local tackle shop stocked those hooks, I know I could buy online but unable so I'll have to adapt. very informative 👏
You don’t need a weight if you are pond fishing off the land. Weightless works better. Dark ponds, Texas rig a black/blue worm 30 min after sun goes down. This year off rocks I caught a 9lbs large mouth, 4lbs largemouth. Just let the Texas rig sink, pop it, let it sink again. Drives bass crazy
I leave the tip of the hook in the worm to make it entirely weedless.
Will you please recommend a kayak.
timeless, keep it going buddy
Slow and small is the best when fishing. No matter if it's a rapala plug Texas rig Carolina rig or drop shot. It's got to be small and slow.
Thanks for the advice
‘Weightless as gas’ Priceless 🏆
Great beginner video awesome content.
Been running this rig with a brushog and no weight at a really shallow scummy pond and I've been landing solid 2-3 lb bass
Nice vids btw day 4 of asking what’s your favorite place to fish and for what specis
Structure but is the best way to learn t rig or jig. Throw into trees or under overhanging branches. Structure bug is the best creature IMO
Gonna try this asap. Looks great for pickerel fishing in weeds.
I use this in my lake. But I keep the end of the hook slightly embedded in the lure when I’m fishing in heavy weeds
I gotta figure out a rig that doesn't get snagged on river stones/weeds constantly.
Thats what he did!
Great info Man!
Love the traditional Texas rig
That’s my favorite rig
Dark side on top. Never seen a minnow wish a lite back. Match the hatch
The only difficult part is without weight you can't cast far.
Especially with a bait caster lol
You can, what is your setup, line type and size as well?
@@seanp9157 How? If I loosen the setting knob thing, it tangles up if I try to cast far
@@Cause023 what is your set up, mainly reel brand, line type and lb test?
Do line extensions affect anything?
Question from a guy just getting into fishing, if you re-embed the barb how does it hook the fish? Obviously setting the lure works, but it seems like that would just embed the barb further into the bait.
Better setup imo especially if you are up north or fishing colder waters is the wacky rig. Both are good in there own ways tho.
What rod do you use?
Thought I was the only one lol. Had two people on the boat at different times and I was slamming them. They couldn't believe it.
If you line up the hook after you put in the tip and turn it around rite where the hook ends is where you shuld poke thru straight bait every time
99% of my softbait fishing in mass is done on that rig. Works great with tubes and small jerks while reeling.
Drop and pop/walk it. Always a good time.
What’s the best hook for Texas rig??
i always have 1 topwater 1 texas rig usually weightless in shallow usually all i need.
How about a vid on the weighted rig? Howto use?
If you replace the treble hook with one of those hooks on a spoon and Texas rig a soft plastic curly tail grub it gets insane action
The weedless jig technique is the only way in some lakes.
😄Good Stuff, Great Tips

Can you make tutorials on how to get the hook out of fish especially pickerel
can you make a video on how to put different types of lure on the hook? like the fake worms or fishes or etc
