  • Thank you so much for just showing how it's done. I hate youtube videos that are 1 minute of instruction and 9 minutes of the youtuber loving the sound of their own voice.

  • Always wet your knots before pulling tight, and another great tip is blob the tag end by burning for a second with a lighter, the blob forms as another great back up should you not slip at all what so ever. As for being a boilie knot, it isnt really a hair rig as you go back through the eye with this but its a good knot for rigs if you use swivels or rings for boilie attachment to the hook, good video, just searching some for my little son, as I think him watching them rather than me telling helps a lot as I tend to just do my various rigs and knots to fast when I show him but expect him to have seen lol

  • I learned it differently. I learned to double the line as it goes through the eye, otherwise the metal might cut the line. With a double line through the eye that cuts the tension in half and eliminates almost completely the possibility of that happening. Otherwise it’s a pretty simple butcher’s knot with a couple extra turns.

    • When I was a young lad I would tie a triple granny knot with amazing success. Too funny to think about things that you used to do . Now I use what I believe is called a "Blood Knot" which ends up looking like the knot shown here. The difference between the two knots is that I loop the line then insert it thru the eyelet and continue the process. The loop gives you a stronger and more durable knot where the line meets the metal . Never has this style of knot ever failed me.
