I'm 57 yrs old & got my first Rubiks cube before KZhead in 1981 & also messed with several others over the years since but with this video & a lot of pause & backup 10 secs I just solved one for the first time ever ending a 42 year drought & im proud as a peacock!! I've just completed this using a different video. I didn't understand her way at all. Its still taken me 2 days and 7 hours solid tonight. Its going to take days and days to memorize it. I still mess up when I try again.

Did it the first time which took awhile. Reset the cube and knocked it out the second time pretty quickly. THIS is the best video for a beginner to learn.
First time ever in my life trying to solve this puzzle. Consistently got it under 10 mins on my first day which is today. Thanks to this video. It’s still a lot of time but you can only get better from here. For those trying, give yourself a day. You will get it without fail.

My mystery cube of mixed colours was nothing but a reminder of how unclear life was.....it used to sit there....mocking me as I paced around the room using all my mental capacity to figure out the right combination to solve the little demon that cornered me in doubt......but now.....NOW my eyes are opened, the cube is solved and so is the question of our existence....it all makes sense now.

I had never played/solved the cube before. I had watched quite a few videos on solving the cube prior to stumbling upon this video. Hands down, this is the single video hack one would need to learn to solve the cube. I learnt it in less than 3 days, despite having a full working schedule and family priorities (read only at nights). Fantastic and simple algorithm and instructions. Kudos to you, Claudia.

this is 100% the only video you need that doesn't make it over complicated or blabber on and on between each step, then do the moves at like 100mph so you have to stop start stop start rewind well done and thanks, I did it a few times and made notes, almost got it memorised now

You are a fabulous teacher. No ego, showing off or any of the things that discourage new cubers. So clear and user friendly. I am an older person who has cubed for 15 years. I solve many cubes, cuboids, odd shaped magic cubes, and supercubes and these often require the basic moves you teach here. So while this is very beginner it is also very useful for advanced complex cubes that can't be solved with advanced algs, A pleasure!! I will show this video to a young neighbor whom I just gave a 3x3 and she is very excited about it. I feel she'd do well with your great teaching style!!

This is the best tutorial I have found. All the others were really complicated, but this was pretty straightforward
probably the single-best follow-along video for solving the cube... took me many partial rewinds/rewatches to work out glitches in my cube when I made mistakes along the way... now I can solve about 3/4 of the cube without the video. it's always the final layer or part of the final layer where I still need to peek-and-practice.... THANK YOU!
Claudia, thank you very much. I was able to solve my first cube while following alongside your video for about 4 days (1-2 hours per day). Since then, I've been able to solve with maybe a few peeks of some of the last steps in your demonstration. I too watched several "How to solve a cube," videos and this is honestly the best and easily understood instruction for someone who never touched a cube before or wants a refresher. Something I want to point out is that you make it clear to get to know the cube and its autonomy. Before coming across your video, I was stumped on while certain pieces won't move or don't orient a certain way, well, that's cause it can't. HAHA. Thanks to you I was able to see that. Thank you again, you really are a talented teacher and great communicator.

This is by far the best starter video around that I have seen. Once you have this method engrained there are any number of short cuts that can be learned but this is an excellent foundation 👌

I can't seem to get this part either. Every time it gets messed up. I even had it where there was only one corner to solve, but somehow even though that corner ended up correct the rest of the cube is no longer right 😭

Easily the best beginner tutorial I've found so far. Most tutorials solve the the first layer identically, the second layer more or less the same, but somehow end up with 8+ step algorithms for the last layer. Focusing on aligning colors in the end and reusing simple algorithms made this so much easier to follow. How you solved the second layer was also the easiest to follow that I've found so far.

This is hands down the best tutorial on the internet to solve a Rubik's cube! I have been trying to solve one for like AGES... Your simple and clear explanation not only just helped me solve it for the first time in my life but I now understand the pattern so well that I intentionally mix up the blocks and see if I am able to solve it on my own again, practising repeatedly. OK I HAVE THE CORRECTION TO THIS VIDEO if you are having problems getting the last step and your yellows are not aligning like hers: Even though your yellow might not be facing the right side (like hers is)... do what she says anyway. When her move is complete, you must do the move AGAIN to flip yellow the correct way. The last yellow piece might not be facing the way her is either. If it isn't, do the move twice again. This was by far the best video on youtube and mine is now complete.

You have to make sure you are just solving each yellow corner WITHOUT paying attention to where it is. I made that mistake. Do not worry about if the yellow cube is in its right spot, just solve for it to be at the bottom

The important thing is to remember to finish the algorithm every time (top layer anticlockwise after yellow corner jumps into right position)
Try and get the sales colors as her that’s what I did and I solved it!

Thank you. The way you explained each step is clear, if a little fast at times on the first run through. I got my first Rubic’s cube around 40 years ago and never got past solving a couple of faces at once. Within a few days I’m down to 3 minutes to solve it.

I seriously have to think you so much for this. Never did I ever think I would actually understand a rubiks cube as much as I did while watching this video. Its easy, simple and straight to the point. I got a rubiks cube years ago with the intention of learning how to solve it by memory and never could. I mean. I solved it, but I could never memorize it. I always got to the part where you solve the 2 bottom layers after getting the white side, and once you have to start solving the top yellow part, I ALWAYS had to default right back to the tutorial because I could never quite grasp it or even remember the steps. I looked att a LOT of tutorials, and while they all helped in their own way, they were also very convoluted and never really helped me understand. I tried on and off for months before dropping it, and now years later I started trying again, found this video and boom. I can solve my rubiks cube completely by memory. I solved it at least 8x in a row last night without having to rewatch the video over and over again. And even now on the next day I solved it 4x without even having to watch the video or replay any steps. The best part of this video that separates it fromm the rest, and what I think helped me to understand is that you didnt throw in any pointless keyword or analogies. Sure, knowing the words prime and all that can be important, but its also too much at once and just makes things more confusing. Plus I would see tutorials where they told you to imagine the turns as "go to school, open the door, back to school", etc. or "now imagine you are boxing, hook, dodge", etc. It was just too much, too confusing, and not necessary. This video is amazing. I can now finally say that Ive memorized how to solve a rubiks cube by heart and Im so happy at this little accomplishment.
Claudia… without a doubt your “How To…” of the Rubik’s Cube excels! Learning at age 76, by far this is the ‘best’ video when it comes to beginner-instructions. Your step.by.step guide is easy to understand. Obviously, patients is still a mind set when learning. Bottom line to you; “Well done good and faithful servant”!

Hands down the best tutorial on KZhead. I messed it up at first, because I didn’t make sure all the corner pieces were in the right spot near the end. Solved it on my second try in less than 30 minutes. I’ve had my cube for over a decade now and it’s finally solved. Thanks so much for taking the time to create this tutorial!!!
