I used corn meal mix and baking soda. I had a mouse infestation that just would not stop. I tried sticky traps, sticky traps laid out flats in runways, snap traps, poison in maze boxes (they ate the poison with no effect). I tried everything! When I used the 50% corn meal mix and 50% baking soda, the mouse population was wiped out in ONE WEEK! I'm keeping the mixture set around in closed plastic containers with mouse size openings just in case. BEST SOLUTION EVER!
Yup. Anything which will attract them with the baking soda is a plus.
I’ve heard people mixing oatmeal with baking soda

Same with me. Corn muffin mix and baking soda 50/50. I got rid of rats and mice in less than a week.
We have been invaded by mice and then rats at our little farm. They ate thru a big yellow and black plastic box to get to grain now stored in metal cans. Baking soda worked best for me when I added it to peanut butter. It disappeared quickly and so have the rats.
Thanks for letting me know which worked best for you. I am finding little corpses here and there now.
How did you add it to baking soda?
What combination did you use the Peanut Butter and Baking Soda?
Meant proportions?
Yes....I make the heathens gourmet peanut butter balls mixed in baking soda make peanut butter balls out of the mixture rolled some in confectionery sugar.
I had a mouse that was enjoying my pantry and nothing seemed to catch him. So, I put down some flour and baking soda! I have seen no more evidence of it ever since! It must work!
That is awesome! I have had great success with that formula.

I wish moles would partake of this concoction!! I’m sitting in my yard right now, with my 410, watching and waiting on the ground to move. I’ve gotten one today 🤬 I’m glad you posted this Jerry!! As soon as I stop traveling for work I’ll be doing gardening, chickening, and weed/herb growing/collecting. I’m very sure your knowledge will be useful!
It does work on them. Also soda pop or beer, exlax or Juicy Fruit chewing gum.
@@pinemeadowshobbyfarmafruga8319 how would you go about applying it?
I use Juicy Fruit gum on moles. Just put some down in their tunnels and they disappear for a while.
Get an old push lawnmower and a garden hose of sorts and put it on the muffler and the other end down the hole.. let it run for a while.. put some oil in gas to make it smoke visible, sit back and watch for exhaust smoke to come out of holes go cover them and you kill ALL YOUR MOLES
Moles only eat insects, grubs and earthworms, nothing else. Moles play a beneficial role in the management of soil and the control of undesirable grubs and insects. By tunneling and shifting soil particles, moles permit better aeration of the soil, help dry out sod, and enable humus (organic matter) to travel deeper into the soil. Why kill them?
Yes, heard about your recipe yrs ago from a farmer. He used it in his barn. He had 2 boys who were sharp shooters with their .22 rifles, & enjoyed the "explosive" encounters after the critters ate it. (Yes, I know that would be frowned upon in today's world.)
Wish I had two boys. Mine is all grown up. Now I am trying to keep the infestation down on my own. Thanks for sharing.

I've had good luck by adding sugar and moistening the mixture to make bait balls. They're easier to place around the activity areas and easy to tell if they've been eaten on. It worked for me inside the house and outside too. 🇺🇸🐀🐭
Sounds great!
It's a great way to find the entry point(s) into your home. Then plug them up permanently. Then focus your efforts outside to catch them before they get in. In just about two weeks I've caught over 15 mice outside. Using the Rinne Corp, Slip and Slip attached to a 5 gallon bucket with 3-4 inches of water. So it's a kill trap. Every few days I empty it out and add fresh bait, peanut butter. Very satisfying!! I also put a couple glue strips where I saw activity inside last year. I caught 1 mouse the first day and not a single mouse yet inside. So I know the Slip and Slide traps outside are definitely working. Good luck,

@@piratetaylor29, I bought one, the bucket recommended at amazon is slightly big so it does not sit on top it sits a couple of inches down and so far it is ignored the same as all the traps only thing that worked is the bait in that it is being eaten but it takes 1 to 2 weeks to work not seen them but heard them

I’ve heard it suggested that you wear gloves to keep human scent off the bait and trap since rats will avoid traps with human scent. Also heard of using baking powder which will make gas bubbles when mixed with water as baking powder is a dry mix of an acid and a base
Oh, Thanks for that tip. I know rat's are very smart with a keen nose. Also, did not know that about baking powder, but it does pan out.
Rats can't pass gas (fart) the baking soda causes gas to build up in the rats stomach and kills it, usually within hours of a rat eating it. I use peanut butter and baking soda thoroughly mixed 1/2 pb and half baking soda, add some sunflower seeds (rats can't resist them) just mix it all up in a bowl and spread out on a paper plate. I make sure each sunflower seed has some of the mix on it, that way even if they eat just the sunflower seeds, they've still eaten the baking soda.
@Another Citizen "I heard..." is not your experience of success. What is your experience!

Hi. Is the smell terrible? Anything to worry about with dead carcass all over? Does smell eventually go away? How long? Thank you.
Smell of dead mice will decrease after a few days. In the mean time boil either peppermint leaves, lemons, orange skins, cinnamon sticks to deodorize the area. Also spray same cooled solution throughout the smelly space as a air freshener. Peppermint, ammonia is a repellent since rodents hate any strong scent.
@mikeike7114 It's pretty bad for a while, unfortunately. It beats the alternative. It is ideal if you can restrict their water to outdoors, I have dogs. While I don't leave uneaten food out, I do have water out for them. Any ideas for dog and cat owners?

@@marymargaretblumhorst5359 starve your cat or don't feed it often
@@marymargaretblumhorst5359 don't feed the cat . Put a little food where mice frequent as they move around. If you notice a mouse was caught add some cat food to that area you baited. Cat will eat and be happy. No more feeding again . Next time the cat is hunting them wait six to twelve hours and feed a little. If the cat looks weak or getting thin start feeding again. It may not be a willing hunter. Otherwise you'll see dead mice about the place which you'll need to take to the bin. And the cat has become a bit unfriendly to mice, hopefully. One guy used a bucket , he used five gallon bucket, put about 5” of water in the bucket, he drilled two holes in the top of his bucket to run a wire through a coke can, he put peanut butter on the can, made it to spin, when rodents get on the can it flip them into the water and downed, then he dumped them in the woods, simple
I made one of those things. Still have it. Did not work at all.
Lol i had a regular mop bucket which had dirty water in it and found a rat in one day
I use one box of cornbread mix $.69 and a box of baking soda. Mix them and put where mice etc are, it works very well.
Yup, that's correct. You know how many views I got on the Jiffy and soda mix in the past two months? Almost TWO MILLION VIEWS on that sucker. One just never knows. Here's an update I created for your enjoyment kzhead.info/sun/n9uzh9R6fqBmgac/bejne.html
Great Idea!, It has been working in my shed which has been infested in the past.
That's great!
Australia needs to know about this. They just had an over the top 100% crops loss for many farmers there who grow grains & hay. The mice made homes all through entire barns full of hay ruining all of it with feces & urine. Houses were burning down because mice chewed through wiring, causing the fire. People woke up with mice in their beds, running across their faces. Outside the ground was moving, with 10’s of 1,000’s mice running like mad in every direction at the same time. One man got sick with a mouse carried infection & nearly died from it. Businesses were unable to keep mice out. Grocery stores lost tons of product, mice came inside, ate it right off the shelves. They were talking about so many farmers, entire states, with nothing to show for a full year of growng crops & all the expense & effort & labor. All down the drain due to mouse consumption & contamination. They are just going into their spring now, & mice are already eating the sprouting grains & other crops. They say another year of mice plagues is about to happen. And all they need are a few tons of baking soda & flour! Thank you for all the info, I’m going to share!
I have viewers in the land down under. Yes, those whom watch my video are deploying this method with great success.
They need this by the 1000s of pounds. It's amazing the most simplest things do the most damage. Plant peppermint plants where possible as well
Saw a mouse/rat problem remidy that used corm muffin mix and baking soda .. rats/mice can't burp, the stomach acid reacts with the soda .. causing the build up of gases
I'm Australian and trying this method right now, they're eating it so hopefully will see results
They need to grow Vetiver Grass like they do in Vietnam to keep rodents away. They don't know why yet as to why the rats stay away from it. It is still being studied. If you get a chance, watch some of the research they've done on it. It's an amazing and versatile grass. It is not invasive and has multiple uses for farmers or anyone who can grow it.
Thank you so much for this. Going to try this immediately 💖
You are so welcome!
I am trying this idea right now. Squirrel 🐿 are making me 😜
I add cornmeal to the flour sugar soda recipe. It works!
That was from my viral video. Very simple & hopefully effective..I'll try it..Thanks so much..God bless
All the best
Ramen soup Seasoning or Boullion Powder also works for enhancing flavor to Attract rodents to flour & soda mix
Sounds great!
Thanks...I just added some to my mixture and I also put out a plate of water. I'm praying this will work.
I like they way he said "HOLE" and held his mouth at 3:00 .....im gonna try it jus becuz of that....reminds me of an english or math teacher from middle school 😂
UM, HUH?
🤣🤣🤣🤣👍😆😁💀 He's a K😎😎L dude and unintentionally hilarious too!
I just use the Jiffy Mix and baking soda and put it in a peanut butter jars that was not cleaned out but wasn't really much in it we will see if it works. I really hope so I usually buy a particular poison and it usually works really well but these mice must be smart because they won't touch it. So now I have my little jar with my baking soda and Jiffy cornmeal mix.
Nice.
I really like watching this going to try your methods in my garden
Go for it.
I use: 4 parts of flour 4 parts of plaster of Paris 1/2 part of backing soda 1 part of backing powder 1 pinch of instant gravy powder for scent 1 pinch of sugar to hide the taste of plaster & soda. Keep it dry. I believe both the plaster and backing powder works when eaten, if it gets wet, the soda will still do it's work.
Thanks for sharing!
Could you, for the love of God, edit "backing" to "baking" all 3 times?? 🤣
@@MMGJ10 Perfesserioneral Edtior here (you that read right). Backing requires reversing. Baking soda is an alkaline, and reacts with stomach acid... similar to those bubbling volcano demonstrations we did as children.
I’m dyslexic so didn’t notice… but who cares anyway… I got what the ingredients were and I’m very grateful ❤
Wouldn't sugar attract ants ??
I did this very thing in my pole barn last spring. The mice devoured the flour/baking soda/sugar combo. It appeared to decrease the rodents significantly. But since one doesn't have dead bodies, one always wonders. We also have a tremendous vole problem in our yard and flower beds. Last spring I counted over 200 vole holes throughout our back yard up to our house. I poured the mixture into these holes. There was clear evidence that they were eating it. But still, no bodies. We saw a great decrease in vole action but not a complete elimination of the rodent. I think they reproduce so quickly that constant treating is necessary. P.S. Someone informed me that it's the natural acid in the rodent's stomach that reacts with the baking soda.
That's wonderful. Yea, no telling where they scurry off to and die.
I agree. . . no bodies so you kinda have to wonder. I have mice in my garage which has my chicken coop in it. I put out flour and plaster of paris, then tried the flour and baking soda(I did add some sugar in mine). They definatly ate it, as I saw white poop. . but I am seeing less and less of it. . . but where are the bodies. I don't like dead stuff so I hope I am not moving something in there one day and find them. Or maybe worse will they start smelling up my garage? I hope they are dead, of course, but hope the died somewhere else.
@@bjohnson2143 they die in their nests apparently
Other animals eat the bodies, so you won't find them. Watch shawn woods mousetrap Mondays to see what I mean.
@@pinemeadowshobbyfarmafruga8319 immediately when they die, the other rodents eat them, so no there is no bodies left.-Fact
P.s. now in trying water traps, and bait cups with corn flour and dry powder plaster of paris. So far the powder stuff isn't doing anything. The water traps work great if the buckets are in areas where the mice and rats are eager to go up the ramp .... If they don't like the ramp though water traps with buckets do not work. It seems to help a lot if you put clutter like big trash bags full of trash around the buckets -- they get bold if theres clutter. They climb all over that clutter, trash bags with trash. They smell that peanut butter and end up falling into the five gallon buckets and drowning. I have never found anything else e that works considtentky.
This is a farm. We have livestock feed. Livestock feed attracts vermin. We live in the wilderness with lots of rodents which are happy to come on over for an easy meal. I answer your questions and also offer solutions and products to repel rodents: kzhead.info/sun/gbmuoaWlfGOEeHA/bejne.html - and Huntavirus by CDC kzhead.info/sun/aMydo86dmYOwqoU/bejne.html. Good idea to rid of this damaging
Thank you.
Elizabeth says, Do you think this would work for pigeons that are in our airplane hangar? Boy, talk about poop everywhere! They get in towards the top of the doors. Only lately has the sweat dripped off my face as I see it doing on your face! It's been in the hundreds here in far, north California for weeks. Yes, I'm entertained! I look forward to you posts.
Give it a try and have a meal of Squawb.
Wear a hat, while in the airport hangar.
Great stuff mate. Worked at my property
Good to hear.
Another mixture is cornmeal and plaster of Paris. It sets up inside and lethally blocks the digestive tract.
Plaster or cement is something I don't like to use on the farm due to it's fatal action with livestock, pets or beneficial wild life which may get into it.
Hi friend! I like your farm and you're a very likable guy! Rodents getting into my home make me angry, too. Lol. But not enough to want to cause them pain. From what I understand, the rodents can't pass gas, so the baking soda bubbling with stomach acid can be painful and not sure how long to take to die. I included a couple suggestions in the next post. Most poisons on the market are painful and can be accidently ingested by pets, wildlife etc. These animals can also be poisoned by eating the rat. I had already posted before think8ng to add a couple other things. I hope my posts help! Cheers! :)
Thank you. I am using this which is safe for all other life. kzhead.info/sun/h6aeqbetkKialZE/bejne.html
I think you have missed three more ingrediants...plaster of paris, salt and a bowl of water. The baking soda is salty...but the salt added to the recipe is supose to make the mice thirsty. The plaster of paris will harden their system.
Bowl of water is setting next to the container of dry mix. The baking soda is salty flavored, interesting. The plaster is included in another trial video. All appear to be working well. Not so much rodent activity lateley. Hey, thanks so much for the input.
Would the hardening keep the smell away I wonder?! 😀
Instant mash potato flakes also work, but it takes a while.
Thanks, I just produced a video on that.
I love how you express your disdain for the pests 😂
Thanks.
Used this over a year ago worked great
Thanks for sharing.
I also had good luck using Smooth peanut butter and baking soda/powder. Boom, they eat it and exploded from within! Boom
NICE
You sir are a man after my heart! I have had rats eat my baby chicken so at night I lock up my hen and chicks! I bought a ratanater 75bucks have got 4rats but now that will change! I use tom cat rat bate! But now thanks to you sir their butts are mine 🤨 thanks once again!
Thanks for your comment
☕️ ☕️ Good morning BRO, i'm Nido from the Philippines 🇵🇭 and your NEW subscriber, i love ❤️ your videos, very informative, interesting, realistic and you give BEST and HONEST advice, i'll try adding baking soda with potato flour to get rid of rat 🐀 inside my room, they are smart and destructive as well, i sleep beside my sister's room rather than my own room, rats are CUTE but nasty! Love ❤️ your show amd more power 🔋💪🙌
Welcome.
Good job, well explained. Let's see. Hopefully.
Thanks!
You have to add sugar or coco powder to entice them to eat it. Flour just isn't as tasty as peanut butter or just plain sugar. But it is a horrible way to go, they are just trying to make a living like anyone else. Snap traps are quicker and though they have their flaws too, it kills them quickly.
Yup, It will work best. I did get some video of mice eating this. Here is my recipe for the better stuff. kzhead.info/sun/fNeYkqise56hfac/bejne.html
Tell that to the mice that had a field day with the bag of flour I left on the table 😱😱😱not tasty???they thought differently
Lmfao
Hi, hate mice and rats! This was great!
Thanks. im trying other tactics as well.
It absolutely does work!
Thanks for that testimony.
BORAX/FLOUR/ BAKING SODA USE A BIT OF WSTER MIX IT TOGETHER AND MAKE BALLS!
I do have a recipe for borax to and DE to control bugs around the home and garden.
I did many bait plates with jiffy muffin mix with a little peanut butter. some were the baking soda and some the plaster. Within a few days a few days my son walked past the rockery they were living in and asked why it smelled like someone peed there. I checked online and yes the smell of a dead rat can smell like urine then turn to a garbage smell. I havent seen any of them sneaking around lately either.
Nice. It works.
Way to go! 👍🏽
Peanut butter and baking soda is my go-to for rats and mice. About 3 parts peanut butter to 1 part baking soda, or maybe even 1:1 if your rodents will take it. The peanut butter seems to mask the scent/flavor of the baking soda better than anything else. Some folks add sugar to this, but I never have needed to, and I was afraid it would draw ants. I smear this mixture in areas my pets and livestock are unlikely to access (like high on rafters), or in tins with appropriately sized holes cut in to exclude chickens and such. I've had to stake the tins down before, since the rats will sometimes try to carry off the whole thing! My neighbor put this mixture in the holes of bricks he had sitting on top of his feed barrels in his feed room. Seemed to work!
Great tip.
I put out a mix of whole wheat flour, pancake mix, sports drink powder and 50% baking soda. Cut a 3” hole in the side of a plastic 1 gal water jug, after 4 nights, every morning I see signs inside and flour footprints around the jug. I might try and increase the % of baking soda.

Ive tried corn flour and baking soda. It seems it works only sometimes.... Water traps witg five gallon buckets and peanut butter bait works better as long as you can make the ramp inviting enough
Tried it every which way. Got video of them mocking my rolling can water trap. The pail is a fail.
