The first drop kick was so good. Dude lands so gracefully and doesn’t leave himself open for long.
lands back on his feet.
Two drop kicks in a row. Butterbean reacted less than if a fly was on his face. Never ceases to amaze me watching these old Butterbean battles.
Butter bean was a tank
He bounced right off him lol
3:38 thank me later
The second kick didn't seem to connect at all though.
@@dreamman5588 He's using his gas defense
I’d watch modern UFC if they had more stuff like this
UFC has multiple all-time greats at the moment, but a circus fight would be the one to make you watch more often... But I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't watch these free weight freakshows lmao
Cant believe Minoa was able to not only survibe getting pancaked but then turned the tables and HELD BB DOWN. Insane stamina and will power. That entire time he had to keep the squeeze on him and he outlasted him.
That's because the fight was fixed like many other pride fights back in the day
Severely overweight people (a la butterbean) have a hard time rolling over. If you are large enough you can keep them down with good technique. Then it's just a matter of draining their stamina which happens faster the larger the body is.
Because all you need to do is to train and get good at your sport
If butter bean learned some bjj I think he would have beaten Minos
@@justaneditygangstar If memory serves, he was only given a couple months to train it max, I think a single month. All things considered, his wrestling is decent, but I think it would take a really long time to correctly use all that weight as an advantage, rather than just immediately becoming exhausted.
One thing I really want to emphasize is after the match was over, it looked like Minowa wanted to help Butterbean up. There was a true sense of sportsmanship here between these two and I really admire that. It seems to be lost in the modern trash-talking era of professional fighting.
Basically, Martial Arts got bastardized by the west. You don’t see trash behavior at One Championship matches.
Wouldn't have been me. Butterbean never should've been in fighting.
They have honor we don’t
It's not lost, it's still a stupid cliche that people care about like it means so much lol. You can help someone up for selfish reasons (like so people like you comment on it?). It's like every athlete thanking God, it's mostly window dressings now
Butterbean is like a beached whale once his down he's finished
Good ole Bean. 5'9 tall, 5'9 wide. Like a giant Rubix Cube
This made my day 👍😂
Or a giant bean

5"11 not 5"9 lol
Minowa is definitely a showman and a fighter. Those drop kicks really riled the crowd.
Jujitsu is absolutely insane, the fact its even physically possible to get out from under a guy 200 pounds above you, this guy could wrestle dirt 6 foot in the grave and wriggle his way on top like wtf
His base is wrestling
@@ghostttriddderwho's base?
@@chagas8822there are literally olny 2 people there and 1 of them is a boxer
@@chagas8822and to not be a prick the other guy who's not butterbean
@@ghostttriddder Ikuhisa Minowa's martial arts are judo and bjj. he never learned about combat wrestling. he only participates in Professional wrestling where it's all staged and not real.
I’ve never seen as many mouth guards go flying in highlights as I’ve seen with butterbean… Dude is a tank
Butterbean is a total sportsman. Real class act.
Years ago I met Butterbean and Irish Mickey Ward they were promoting a fight in our area. I'll tell you this when Butterbean shook my hand it disappeared in those giant mitts like I was a little kid. Man he's huge.
And there ain't a chin in the world that could withstand a clean over hand right or left from Bean. The guy could KO a train in his prime.
Great respect for Minowa! How many men have balls to face an opponent much big than you. It’s David vs Goliath and you know the rest of the story.
He played in open weight.
Butterbean only has KO power thou get him down and he's finished
@@donjohn2695 Well if he is on top of you, he still has a chance. Remember 400lbs on top of you is a lot.
Иудейские сказки зачем сюда приплетать, все больше людей прозревают от религиозного морока
That Dropkick was absolutely outstanding. Wow.
It didn't work though
@@Shitty796 I knew somebody would say that, he’s talking about the kick, not it’s effect
Beautiful worked pro wrestling dropkick 😁
@@Shitty796 It sure did work. The first one was very powerful. It was a mistake going for a second, but epic fight none the less.
Yeah
Minowa was one of those dudes that just demonstrates the phrase, "It's a mindset."
Great match. Even though he lost, I still have great respect for Eric Esch.
Now he's a 'has bean'

I never knew Dana White fought in pride. He's way thinner these days!
That was back when a DNA specialist told him he had 3 months to live.
Those cycles of winstrol are really working well lol
jaja
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Yes he did before he went to Jenny Craig
Oh geez... two bald guys... hah. Great observation man...
I love how Butterbean cut ✂️ his trunks like a muay thai fighter incase he had to throw some kicks or sprawl lol, Butterbean was the man.
Minowa man was the real pro wrestler as he mentioned and did please spectators not just win boringly. ミノワマンの試合は面白かったな。試合後のパフォーマンスも好きだった。
Did he please spectators fighting himself, or somebody else? Please remind me. 🙄
@@chilliecheesecake he did open the fight with 2 dropkicks, Butterbean had a little to say about the course of the rest of the fight...
I miss butterbean, he is such a nice guy. He did MMA for the fans.

Money in the old
Wow, didn't think it would go out like that. In the end, and no dishonor, it's best to tap than lose a elbow. Great and entertaining fight! Butterbean is always entertaining and didn't disappoint here. Minowa is someone i learned of from this, that 2nd drop kick aside, he was amazing.
Fact is Butterbean was a great sport. Instead of relying on his knockout boxing prowess, he relied more on his less-confident ground game.
Rrr
Tap it before you snap it
Bean probably tapped a bit early cuz he was aware that right arm was his meal ticket.
Loved Butterbean you knew when he got in the ring win or lose you would be entertained.....a legend no doubt thanks for the video
Butter Bean looked like an Austin Powers villain falling on that little fella
Minowa and Butterbean both have their strengths and weaknesses. This time, Minowa came out on top. My hat is off to both of these guys. They are great in their own way, and I enjoy watching either of them fight.
Thank you from Japanese fan of Minowa.
Way to go Minowa, thank you, great fight.
Super, un engagement sans faille et un respect mutuel des 2 combattants du début à la fin. Total respect pour eux.
Do you guys haven't watched any of the old Pride fights, they were a long time ago, check them out. Some of the most legendary fights of all time happen in those championships.
Minowa's thought process: "my dropkick just failed, what to do next? another one!" 😆
I can kinda understand the logic though, nobody expects 2 dropkicks in a row
Damn, that was awesome….one mistake and it’s butter bean destruction
One mistake = bean time
It's beanin time
Butterbean didn't even wait for his arm to be fully straight. He knew as soon as he lost his hand grip that it was over.
A GREAT FIGHT OF STRENGTH 💪, BIG RESPECT FOR BOTH MEN. 🧐💯🤩🤔🇬🇧🗣️👍
butterbean is so iconic. what a guy
Yessss Straight up old Anicent Days No Rules and Noooooooooooooo Rounds,
It's amazing for a man this size, strength and with speed.
It's amazing how he constantly manages to lose.
True.
Awesome sportsmanship at the end right after the submission!
Butterbean always been a favorite of mine great boxer to MMA...i don't think any other pro boxer went into MMA
"He just bounced off" 😆 🤣 😂
KING OF THE THREE ROUNDER! That was his strength.
Butterbean is a legend very impressive how athletic he was for being a big boy.

Butterbean's defense against those kicks was nothing short of amazing.
After all that, a hug of respect from the Bean.🎉

Minowa knew Butterbean was powerful, it's why he directly went for drop kicks, his most powerful strike.
Thank you for uploading this
"The more you hit him the more you keep him in the fight" Crazy...
Unbelievable !!! Overcoming that huge weight advantage of Butterbean.
I honestly was doubting he had any defense on the ground but that was the correct defense for an arm bar….butterbean 👍🏻
Butterbean is a legit fighter! I always enjoy when he's fighting!!
Imagine Butterbean doing a dropkicj on Minowa !
Butterbean would drop to the floor with all that weight.🤣
Minowa is my fave fighter of all time. The man's a hero, he would take a fight with a steamroller and he'd try to cartwheel kick it just to give the people what they want. The dude just never gives up.
cute hug at the end
Waw ! Minowa is amazing person.
Ground fighting is a whole different ballgame for even the toughest of fighters
My fave part was when the ref patted the guys Weiner in the beginning! So gingerly!
Gotta say I’m glad the bean tried mma win or lose it was intertaining
Fantastic!
The Butter man is from my home state of ALABAMA very proud of The Butter Bean he was a awesome boxer but not a UFC fighter he was a heavyweight champion boxer
4:27 ah yes,the small guy can beat the little guy
Now we need to see Butterbean flying drop kick him in the face! 😂
that was a different start to a match up and minowa impressive on the bottom being so much smaller two, while perhaps he's one of those grapplers who can feel really heavy on top.
I loved BB he's a legend
Superb ! What a good fight !
Minowa is a brave man, I love the Japanese they are a proud people. From Canada!
Nice Flying Kick. Very Impressive.
For the lack of damage inflicted to either fighter, this might as well have been a strict grappling match.
Butter bean got full force dropkicked in the face, he just has an insane chin. Second one clearly missed but first one hit clean
Thats the dumbest comment i have ever read about mma
@@anonymoose2474🤓☝️ he technically blocked it didn't hit his chin but I guess his hand hit his chin
Freeze frame it. One hand "blocked" one foot, the other is directly on his eye socket/forehead. And that kind of "block" isn't how you block a kick, so it wouldn't even matter, but regardless, it is literally center mass of his face unblocked@@vegetablackpotato4700
Only thing inthink of seeing old fights from Pride Fc is that its Sadly UFC can bring the magic Pride FC once had.
Beautiful
This is what I call good television
Pride never die
I was already saying “WTF?” to myself when the ref started tapping their heads, it got even stranger when he started cupping their balls.
Butterbean did pretty good. Better than I expected.
part of me thinks this is a work, butterbean did not even try and keep it on the feet where he could like knock him out with one punch. neither really did any damage
He could have pounded on Butterbean's face. Guys used to take it easy on poor fat Akebono too.
Seems that way. It begins WWE style.
Minowa is a pro-wrestler through and through. He wanted to show the show skills even if it’s a shoot.
@@mattbleen9179 I think lots of MMA fights are rigged to be fair, this is just a more obvious example

Butterbean is a living legend. Minowa accomplished one hell of a feat.
Those flying kicks are insane 😅
that was a good wrestling match
Esse Minowa é bom
This is like a video game
At first i thought he was stupid for trying a drop kick the second time. Obviously he was ready for it. But then i realized he wanted it on the ground and that was the safest way. He brilliantly lured him to the ground in order to avoid the punching power, then reversed him and arm bar. Brilliant moves
