Gutters completely frozen thick ice!

After a week of freezing temps in Kentucky it's time to clean the ice out of the gutters before the melting and heavy rains come. The snow melt and rain can cause a lot of issues if it's not drained properly. Ideally, you want the snow melt from your roof to fall into your gutter so you can divert the water away from your house. However, when your gutters are frozen solid with inches of ice it creates overflow water issues around your foundation. The video shows how hot boiling water was used to melt and detach ice sheets for removal. Now the gutters are free to catch the snow melt from the roof once the temps climb on Monday and divert the water away from the house before the potentially flooding rains come this week. I've actually gotten water in my basement before after inches of snow was followed by heavy rains. Video shows before and after of the gutters.
