There is a HUGE difference in how the S23 U is processing details and sharpness in One UI 6, I much prefer it since it looks more detailed yet less artificially sharpened. The grass examples for instance you can clearly see a way more natural rendition with more detail
Yeah I couldn't quite put my finger on it yesterday but it's a subtle improvement I'm liking so far!

You can absolutely notice the difference in sharpness between the too, especially in the grass, like you pointed out. One UI 5.1 looks a heck of a lot more oversharpened than One UI 6, yet it packs less detail. Incredible what Samsung can do!
Great... The only thing that bothered me about the photos from the S23 Ultra, with the One Ui 5, was this totally artificial sharpness. Apparently, with One Ui 6, it changed from water to wine hahaha! I have nothing more to complain about, looking forward to this update arriving soon here in Brazil! 🙌
There is a subtle difference in sharpness n it is a good thing because the one ui6 picture doesn't look oversharp anymore which is great...

I imagine the ND filter is mostly intended for extremely slow shutter speed/artistic shots (light trails, water painting etc.), there are already plenty of settings for basic exposure control. But, I don't have the update yet, haven't played around with it.

It is really really interesting to see this video after the S24U came out, they KNOW how to fix things, the hope is there (talking about overexposure in video and photo of the s24u) there a substancial difference in more situation then I thought when you introduced the comparison. I tried a lot the ND filter, the thing is: The whole point of using a filter like that should be having a longer exposure than normale photo, so the problem is that they have to increase the intensity over 1000, not really the exposure time. I've shot a lot of great photo with waterflowing, they look great, but it was a cloudy day. If you're curious to see them I can send them to you!
The only one thing I hope to see in OneUI 6.1 for camera is to be able to set a dedicated zoom level for the camera widgets.
Pls make more such videos with features.
For document scanning at 3:50 use 3x zoom. You will get much better picture quality.

The colors of the images on the 1UI6 look more natural, also a tad sharper photos and better stability in videos, so, good update
So strange, you said you did a comprehensive comparison but you never mentioned the stuttering when changing lens has been adjusted better, night filming is also better a bit.

@5:04 that setting isn't on the S22 Ultra unfortunately. I got the One ui6 update. Also the camera setting from minimum to maximum doesn't work. The minimum is actually slower than the maximum for some odd reason.

I would give the ND Filter a go from ExpertRAW. It's job is to limit light so it could work well. Otherwise tap on the area and use the exposure slider when taking the photo

Have you tried Maximum and Scene optimiser in low light? I took some photos of my kids dance production, dark room, bright stage, and with maximum and scene optimiser, the photos were totally horrible. Completely washed out and fake looking. They looked good immediately after taking it, but in front of your eyes it changed to this horribly over optimised version, and there was no way back. I missed moments due to this, which was really annoying. I ended up having to go to Pro mode in order to get around this, as even with it set to Minimum and Scene Optimiser off, it still did post processing in Photo mode - which I just didnt understand why. Can you give that a try and see if you find the same?

I've just got the feeling that the HDR front facing camera video has suffered a little bit, it's a little bit more blownout in the background especially at 1080p. Sadly I don't have another Galaxy S23 Ultra on OneUI 5.1 to compare it but I did it with my S22 Ultra and I might be right. Too many unnecessary changes on the camera UI and gallery for editing.
Yeah the gallery got a number of updates. The way to change the background effect on portrait photos has moved as well. You need to swipe up to see the option now instead of it just being there
@@techwithbenefits Yes, I know. I just don't see the need for those changes. All Samsung had to do is to put the object eraser option in the list where remaster, add portrait effects and the other options were with the 3 dots on the bottom right instead of inconveniently move the 3 dots to the top and put remaster and add portrait effects by swiping up. That was a dumb move that doesn't improve the user the experience on the contrary. A change for the sake of change.
iPhone has the better camera and video☹️
My camera now has bursts with the light. It happened after the update. Any ideas as to what I can change to fix it?
I think for the selfie portrait mode, they chose to improve portrait details for the exchange of background details etc. And for the zoom, they really enhanced sharpness and clarity of image quailty. Also night mode is significantly got better too. Afterall, hardware is controlled by software.
Please also compare the S23 Ultra camera pictures and videos after the update of one UI 6.1 as compared to one U1 6.0. Is that change is good or bad or no impact. Thank you

Hey, great video! Thanks for all the info. One Question: are you sure you didn't have Photo Softening on in the One UI 6 phone? Asking because going by your tests, Samsung finally seemed to have fixed the over sharpening in photos; the only complaint I had with this otherwise unbeatable camera system
I updated my S23U to One UI 6 and can confirm no difference in sharpness. This guy has accidentally left photo softening on for his One UI 6 unit

One UI 6 they have fixed alot of things. I love my selfies in night mode. Also, my one ui 5.1 made my nose look bigger after the processing. But in One ui 6 i got the option to turn off that picture distortion option and now I look normal! I was really pissed that it changed my face shape. But now it is fixed and I am happy with the results!
Did the battery on the update last longer?

The grass seems to finally start looking like grass! Thank you Samsung.... I swear, everytime is was taking a picture with grass, I switched to the GCam/pro mode/50mp/200mp... anything but the 12mp auto mode. 😉
10:30 - The One UI 6 photo has more details and less sharpening. 10:47 - Again, the One UI 6 photo is considerably better, with far less oversharpening and better colours. They literally doubled the output resolution. Fine details finally looks natural and detailed.
i agree, the second comparison is much softer, samsung finally seems to be doing something about their god awful oversharpening
The white patches I see on the grass or walls from the pictures of my S23 Ultra got me leaving my Sim card from it. That is extremely annoying that I can't face it
I want to ask something about quality optimisation. When in maximun or medium means samsung software optimises the photo for colors and sharpness or the overall quality of the photo? What i mean is the quality when you have the minimum optimisation is the same as the pro or raw mode on auto? When i have the phone in tripod and shooting when i switch between optimisation there is diference between the photos. I am not talking about moving objects. And after all if is just software optimisation and not less capture quality maybe is better to have it off for faster shutter and just edit later.
To answer your question, the minimum optimisation takes fewer layers and does less post processing. It's also a compressed jpeg so doesn't store the same details as what Pro Mode would. The lesser frames is what allows a faster speed. It also doesn't apply scene optimiser too because it needs to reduce the time it takes!
Noticeable difference between the two, oneUI version 6 has much less artificial sharpness and looks much more natural. Nice comparison though ❤

In my s23 ultra, photos looks good in 200 mp and expert raw but after some seconds photos are over saturated and brightened ..how to resolve it??

Samsung should must include all lens shifting in 60fps during vidio recording and flash light in ultra wide i donot know why samsung is not working on it

My battery is leaking after the update. it used to last me a day and a half, now I charge it every day. I am a medium to strong user. i use s23u for work.

I got the update on Tab S9 Ultra. It feels less polished in basic UI navigation including the top bar which is much less clear in dark mode. But the bugs bother me more because I will get used to the less clear UI within a few weeks. I hope they correct those bugs though...

so many of these features aren't on the S22 Ultra, insane. No ND filter is one of them
In UI6, they ruined the video camera's usefulness as an action camera by making it impossible to chose UHD in 1:1 aspect ratio. I was using it in Pro video Ultra wide 1:1 ratio to motorvlog for a year before the update, and had 400 vids and shorts on YT in 1440. Now it only uploads in 1080, grainy, dark, and juddering, 2010 era images. S10 camera was better. 1:1 is one of only two formats suitable for Shorts and is ok for longform videos too, because it works in both landscape and portrait mode, without cropping. Now, 9:16 vids will need cropping to portrait mode for YT Sorts, an extra unnecessary step. Also, shooting in 1:1 captures both sky and motorcycle's handlebars, unlike GoPro, which crops the sky out in 9:16. Sky is important in motorcycle vlogging, as it's a roofless vehicle, we're aware of the weather. And shooting 1:1 in portrait orientation, the phone can just fit in a motorcycle jacket pocket, no clumsy, distracting harness required. Now I will need to jerry rig something dangerous and probably illegal to chest mount the phone in landscape more. Moreover, the new on board video editor, Studio, only exports in 1080. I tested 4k vids run through the new Studio app, all exported in 1080, but when uploaded directly to YT, they're still in 4k. So now I'll need to pay for propriety video editing software and edit on another device. My low effort content is now very expensive and time consuming to make. FHD 30 in 1080 is unwatchable these days and will kill my channel. Why did Samsung knacker its customers for no reason?
They better not degrade that selfie portrait camera on purpose, or atleast fix it with some updates.

Uuhmm bro.. there is a big difference 10:38. The sharpness on OneUI6 looks way better. It looks more naturally detailed and not artificial as OneUI5.1. Plus the green has a way more natural green look than the weird unnatural looking blueish green OneUi5.1 puts out. I think the natural sharpness combined with the more natural colours are a big step up.
Why does my s23 ultra photos look so much soft and lacking any sharpness after 6.0 update than it was in 5.1 and was even sharper when i got the phone in March 2022 the photos back then were really sharp but now it seems Samsung has deliberately downgraded the quality on S23 Ultra to push sales of S24 Ultra

Nothing has changed same quality just simplified settings people that's it.
All these artificial digital filters are kinda crap, good for social media other than that, just shoot raw / manual and post-process with a decent editor. Better get a good system- or DSLR camera for holiday / precious memory shootings.

Am I the only one seeing this ui 5 camera seems better ? ui 6 seems like blury not clear photos
Glitches I found in oneui 6 1. When I am on an app, there are times it will send me home even no swiped home gestures, or no crash that is happening. When I come back to an app, it didn't refreshed the app that where I was. So it just like it will swipe me home for no reason. I notice it happenes when I opened another app into splitscreen mode or pop-up mode. 2. When I open an app from the apps page, there are times it bring me to browser or probably different app even though I clicked the game luancher. Or a secure folder or something from the app page. It brings me to different app from what I suppose to open. 3. When I swiped down to notification page, there are times I am trying to get out of the notification page by swiping up from the bottom of the screen. But it just ends up it will just scroll down through notifications, and has to scroll all the way down to be able to swipe out the notification page. I noticed this occured when you swiped down the notification when there is key that is on the background. 4. The quick setting instant access isn't consistent. There are times it brings me into notification page even tho I swiped from the top corner of the screen. And then when I do it again, that will be the time will bring me to quick setting. Sometimes you have to do it more than twice to make it work. That's all I found for now, but I hope samsung will fix this issues.

Not how I do things mate
I'm so done with Samsung. My whole phones look changed with this CRAPPY UI 6 upgrade. Colors turned white, fonts got super thick and bigger, icons got huge. I had to change everything back and spend the whole day trying to get my phones settings back to what they were...it's still not right. I don't understand why color themes are changed with any upgrade...all settings should remain the same. Do they change all your settings just to fuck with us?
