    • No the point is as Bane said to Bruce in the prison is he wanted to show the people hope because he said there can be no hope without despair. He wanted to really torture and terrorise Gotham hence he didn't blow it up straight away and also why he didn't kill Bruce.

    • snakeisninja Perhaps, but I think he wanted to torture Gotham first and bring the rich down and show them 'true justice'. As I quote from what he said from the movie 'I will let them believe they have a chance' hence meaning he will let them live for a little bit, as he said there can be no despair without hope and he 'feeds hope to the people'

  • People that don't understand why he makes the revolution happen before he blows the city haven't paid any attention to the movie at all, since Bane explains his plan crystal clear to Batman when they're in The Pit. Bane is going to blow up the city after all, but for his own amusement he first let the people fight each other and give them a little bit of hope they might survive, when in fact, he will kill them anyway. The whole revolution is part of Bane's torture, since he says "there can be no true despair without hope". The revolution is the hope he gives the people, but they will die in the end anyway. Except when Batman saves them of course....

  • According to the League of Shadows and Ra's Al Ghul, Gotham is a corrupt city that cannot be corrected. That's why the League of Shadows want to destroy Gotham. But before that they want to show the world and Batman the "true nature" of Gotham's citizens, which would be the fact that they would start tearing the city apart themselves when given the opportunity to do so. So basically, he just wanted to prove that Gotham is indeed corrupt. But yeah this video is still funny haha

    • Nobody could get in or out of the city as he blew up the bridges. Bane wanted to 'fulfill Ra's Al Ghul's destiny' meaning he wanted to show Batman that Gotham was corrupt and couldn't be changed. Ra's wanted to do that in Batman Begins

  • If you remember, Bane said he was feeding the people hope to poison their souls. Just like he had to go through in the prison he lived in, when he could look up and hope, but couldn't get out. How hard is that to remember?
