This is one of my best and easiest homemade catch and let go or catch and release mouse traps. Easy to build, easy to bait, easy to release and best of all it's humane and there's no springs or levers to wind up or load. The mouse or vole cannot escape or chew his way out of this catch and release mouse trap. Mice are not harmed in any way during capture or release. As a matter of fact, the mouse or vole remains very calm since there is no slamming doors or snapping latches to scare them. Mice can be captured, released and let go calmly and easily without fear of getting bitten, even by the most fearful of mice person. Simple operation makes this diy homemade catch and let go vole mouse trap fun and easy to build and adjust for easy trapping and capture and best of all easy release. Just use a dab of peanut butter to bait the mouse trap. It's the best do it yourself homemade humane live release and let go vole mouse trap you'll find! A 2L bottle and a few other common items is all you'll need. I'll be building a humane squirrel trap next so you can capture and release squirrels easily too so subscribe and don't miss my upcoming diy humane squirrel trap. Thanks for watching. I also have a diy humane rat trap coming soon too!

  • Took very little time for my husband to build. Within about 10 seconds of putting the trap on the floor in the room our friend had claimed for himself, the little guy was there sniffing around for some snacks. 30 seconds later and he was trapped. I noted like some others that he didn't seem to want to exit the bottle when allowed, so I just gave it a little shake and he popped out. Happy to be able to use a trap that is humane and reusable! Thank you for this great video!

    • Most traps when working properly kill instantly....the mouse never feels pain. I tried humane traps before but ne er seen one catch anything. This trap looks neat and I'd buy one if sold. But I'm not very crafty. But if I did release a live mouse I would take it several miles from my home in a wooded area. Letting it go outside your house, it's just going to turn around and go right back in your house.

      @davesteller6301@davesteller63014 жыл бұрын
  • I made this and it worked the first day!! Letting it go in the woods was the best feeling Ever!! I found the hole behind the water heater and patched it. Since then, whenever I hear chewing in the walls, I put 2-3 drops of peppermint essential oil on the top part of a cotten ball, and place it next to the baseboard, near the sound, with the essential oil part of cotten ball facing up, so it doesn't stain the floor. The peppermint needs to be refreshed periodically because the smell fades. Over the course of 2 years, all 3 times that I have done this, the chewing sounds stopped immediately. Another You Tuber demonstrated a real mouse entering a Store Bought plastic catch and release cage and when the mouse entered the cage trap, the cage door slammed behind him and slammed down on his tail. Even though it was a plastic door, it still hurt. The poor mouse quick grabbed his tail and started licking it because it hurt, so please make THIS humane trap here with the bottle and don't buy the one I mentioned from the store. As you can see from the beginning of the video, this one dosen't hurt their tail. Thank you ! Thank you so much for inventing this humane catch and release trap and for sharing it on You Tube!!

  • Genius. The bendy wire design that lets you tweak everything until it's just right is spot on. There a couple of extra things worth knowing. Firstly you need to release your mouse a long way from your house - 2 miles or 3 km. Secondly you need to be quite patient when you do so - your mouse may be in no hurry to leave its new home

  • After six successful captures (and one escape), I somehow decided to make a second trap. That night, both traps were cleaned of their peanut butter without any prisoners. It seemed to me that the most likely escape plan was the mouse using its paws and/or teeth to "scale" the blocking wall, pulling the bottle up until the mouth cleared. I modified the design slightly, taping a magnet to the neck and attaching a small metal sheet to the base; when the bottle was tipped, the magnet held it down firmly. We caught the energetic and tenacious "Miika," who will join our family as a pet.

    @halaji@halaji2 жыл бұрын
    • The problem with that is that sometimes a mouse will tip the bottle just by standing on it. If you latch it down... that trap is now useless until you reset it.

Took 20 mins to make the trap with basic tools. Rhabdomys is an important seed-disperser and pollinator of several Fynbos plants, especially in the Restio ad Protea plant families, so it was important for the trap to be ethically designed with catch-and-release in mind. • I've made two of these today and just the making and fitting was very enjoyable. If I catch the mice running around here I'll be making a lot of them for my neighbours. 😁 Update: within 23 hours I caught my first mouse. Love the design, thank you very much. Update2: I've caught four mice but one has figured a way out. It sinks its teeth in the wood and elevates itself untill it can get out. I am going for the pvc pipe next.
