  • Saw an interview with the guy doing all the firing here. He had someone above with a drone giving him intel the whole time and they were fighting off about 12 Russians who arrived in an armoured vehicle. His tactic was to keep changing weapons so the Russians assumed they were up against a larger squad than 2 and therefore storming the trench would not be feisable. Also, it was the first day on the frontline for the guy doing all of the reloading and he was absolutely terrified but just executed the orders and did an incredible job because they would have been overrun otherwise.

  • Even the soldier doing all the fighting admits he would not have made it without the other guy. The other guy had a concussion/shell shock (nearby strike by artillery) and it was his first day in a trench. Main soldier gave orders and asked for things. Dude did his best and did what he was told. Soldiers cannot fight without logistics, in this case there was a soldier with a personal logistics guy. The soldier was able to fight with the ferocity of a whole squad because of the teamwork. Had the Russian's realized there was only 1 person fighting them in that trench both soldiers would have died.

Once at begining these two got discovered (1.10 russinan soldier was on raid to them but took different location/hole - it was deadly mistake) and once they got dicovered by the video's very end. • The name of this guy is Ruslan Zubarev, call sign Predator. He’s 21. Awarded with golden cross for this fight that took place near Svatove. He burned a Russian IFV and shot several paratroopers that day, one of them seen in the video. The other guy was shell-shocked and it was his first day on the front line. The attack was successfully repelled. Fun fact: the hero’s dream was AR-15 rifle, but in Ukraine you cannot buy rifled guns until 25yo. So he was also awarded with AR-15 as a personal weapon.

    • Personally, I didn't even think the guy was a coward (Or had PTSD/Shellshock at first). I thought he was just assuring the POV soldier had ammo as he has been handing him supplies as our POV soldier was using it. Then at some point he tried to turn an AK over the trench to return fire but I think the POV soldier told him "No stay down" (I wouldn't know) Or something along the lines of that of some sort cause the guy ceased what he was doing right after. Personally, with the direction the enemy was coming from, he was probably best to stay put cause if he got up to fire, it would make our POV soldier have to expose himself a bit to fire around his mate as he would have to lean up either above the guys head, or lean out of the trench to his left or right (All ways exposing the POV soldier to gunfire)

If they had both been firing they'd have to coordinate reloads, and if they needed more supplies from the hole, it would take more time for one of them to get down there from their firing position than it would for this guy to hand his ally some ammo from there. Anyone calling him a coward is a keyboard warrior with no critical thinking skills though lol. Especially when you consider sitting down in that hole wouldn't fare you any better than the guy shooting, if any sort of explosive reached their trench.

It can be said that one might wind up with some PTSD after someone calls in a 20 second barrage and you’re right in the middle of it. It’s deafening, somewhat terrifying, and almost to the point of actually being there. Again, this is only a game. But there are real people and personalities from all over the world behind each player out there in the battle maps and it can get brutal.

    • @Thawne People all have their reasons whether it be for defending their nation, being naturally fit for that role, for combat experience, etc, but to give you an Idea, Imagine you are an Ukrainian citizen with Friends and Family living in Ukraine along with maybe owning some stuff that you would probably be willing to risk your life for to protect, now you have the choice to flee or not to fight but doing so means your life, your friends and family's lives and everything you care for is at a higher risk of being taken away from you. Your way of living, your laws, prices, medical care, stores and everything could completely change to mimic Russia's stuff and depending on how you view Russian laws, prices, politics, etc, it could change for the worse. Now are you going to fight to keep things the way they are and to help increase the chances of your civilian life staying the way it was and to increase the chances of everyone's life staying the same or would you rather flee and leave your friends and family to make their own choices, possibly increasing their chance of death or change to their way of living along with leaving most or all of your possessions in the place you leave behind? I just wanted to let you know this is not meant to make you feel bad in any way if you were to choose to flee or stay (staying and doing nothing would have the same effect as fleeing so I didn't mention it.), its just meant to give you an Idea of why people choose to fight in war. For me if my country went to war, I would probably choose to fight because my life isn't great so I wouldn't necessarily care too much about the risk of death and my country has a bunch of cool things to like about it so if a invading country decided to try to change all that, I would more than likely choose to fight.

The fighting was very different, it was much more reactive rather than proactive. You always had this very high intense fear of waiting to be hit by an IED, Complex Ambush or a simple RPG shot. When anything lasted more than a few seconds you really got dialed in and didn't think very much. Any time I got footage (old school Panasonic Camcorder tied to Singar radio) of an attack/firefight it was a bit therapeutic to see it and learn. Long answer is, I believe he was exhibiting both, at times simultaneously. Yes, he showed amazing fortitude and skill to survive and destroy the enemy. • "Brave"? Yeah, no... Highly trained, for sure. Thanks NATO for flooding Ukraine with guns and instructors for 8 years. But there's no bravery in protecting own life, it's basic instinct supported by this exact training and experience. Would you call a professional UFC fighter "brave", when he's in a dark alley kicking whole lot of people in the face because they are assaulting him with knives and clubs? Hardly. Bravery is to rush and clear trenches, at full height while under fire. To assault buildings. To take captives. To help and evacuate civilians, to provide aid. But you gotta watch whole lot different videos to see that heroic behavior, which is not oh so welcomed and spread by your European/Western media :)

  • An absolute warrior 💙💛💙💪💪💪👏 putting his life on the line for his country like that, I can only hope I’m half the man he is. Also his wing man too, he kept him locked and loaded no matter what and he deserves admiration and respect. I’m thankful to you boys as much as I was thankful to my grandad in ww2, this is just as important and the same amount of valour❤ you boys make your country and many more extremely proud.
