In 1977, Stan Lee (1922-2018) explains how Spider-Man's problems make him a more relatable and popular superhero.
Here's a clip from a 1977 appearance on CBC's 90 Minutes Live, in which Stan Lee talks about Spider-Man and how he is a character who people can relate to - moreso than the perfect heroes of the past.

    • @The Riddler literally no. Spidey was only thought of as a joke in the beginning when stan's boss didnt like the idea of spiderman because people dont like spiders or teenagers cant be superheroes but only sidekicks. But when spidey appeared in amazing fantasy 15 people loved him and they wanted more. Spidey has always been popular not just because of the movies but because he is singlehandedly the most relatable superhero on the planet to many many people.

We get the peter parker / spiderman that no one knows who he is. He can go back to struggling with being a super hero / being a normal young adult with a job and bills. I think it will make the relationship between him and mary jane even better with him not wanting to repeat what he did in the first 3 movies. I understand why some many want to be "FAMOUS"! Once you're in the "public consciousness", your life changes forever, no longer a forgotten nobody, everything you do, "good" or "bad" is recorded for posterity! Fame gives anyone the ability to have a loud voice in the world, so loud you can never be ignored again, because NOW you matter! As for me, I do not seek fame, nor do I seek "GODhood", it's too overwhelming. Besides, my anonymity is far too important for my own sanity (what little is left, LOL)! That is why I enjoy posting comments online, best of both worlds, the ability to have a voice , while maintaining my precious anonymity!!!

Tony Stark has some similarities to Bruce Wayne, like many protagonists of the time, but he is modeled seemingly closer to Clark Gable and Errol Flynn. He was specifically a defense contractor/inventor. Playboy/millionaire, you could argue, but was certainly not the first playboy millionaire character, those characters are littered through fiction. Superman is the influence of many characters, even Sentry. But Sentry created by Paul Jenkins and Jae Lee. Though, Superman himself is influenced by many other heroes. He was not the first to fly, have super-strength, have a secret identity, costume, cape, X-ray/heat vision, and etc. Almost all of his powers came from other characters. Your point being, once again?
