Adriano Moraes silenced the Mall of Asia Arena when he edged out Geje Eustaquio in ONE Championship’s first-ever trilogy bout. After a cautious first frame from both men, the two flyweight superstars upped the ante in the later rounds, including an unorthodox submission attempt by Moraes in the fourth round. After five intense rounds, the judges ruled the bout in the favor of “Mikinho," giving the Brazilian his sixth ONE Flyweight World Title.

  • I got the fight for the Asian guy after 3 rounds. The 2nd round was close but the Asian guy showed defense unreal! Then he escaped and reversed all positions and won striking in 2nd round. These 2 guys are amazing fighters.

  • Mas mabigat sa judges yung takedowns at near submission pati yung damage sa leg ni Geje. Kung mas agresibo si Geje baka sa kanya napunta ang decision dahil asintado naman ang mga suntok ni Geje. Mahirap man tanggapin pero syempre gusto natin Pinoy ang manalo.

  • Take downs score more than punches. Jujitsu ain't team lakay's offensive weapon. It's always been striking, they just learned how to defend against it, not use it offensively. Sad.

    • ONE FC adopts a judging criteria that has its roots from Pride, where judging is based on the entirety of the fight not PER ROUND (di sa bilang ng round na napanalunan) . There are five distinct criteria that are ranked from most important to least important. The most important criteria is if there was a near Knockout or submission, followed by damage done. Iba judging ng ONE FC that's why :)

    • NEAR FINISH ang pinakamabigat ang score sa ONE judging criteria. kaya unanimous dahil yung lamang mi moraes sa NEAR FINISH nya, times 3 pa. tatlo kasi ang judge

    • Moraes held that submission attempt for more than a minute. The judges might have seen it as a near finish. puting your thumbs up does not mean much. a person in pain can still put his thumb up but it can not sway how the judges see the situation. next to NEAR FINISH is the DAMAGE. Geje was limping near the end of round four.. that must have counted..

  • wheres Moraes World class BJJ? he cant even submit Geje that was awful judging! Moraes could only win via a draw( draw because we feel sorry for him not doing hes job as a grappler and a submission expert), he had Geje in trouble but he couldnt finish in his own game, that was terrible!

  • 22:25 Look at Geje's face. There is no way Geje can get away from that near submission. Moraes could have broke Geje's knee but he eventually let it go but the damage has been done. The judges have made the right call. Moraes is out flyweight champion.

    • to those who are saying that the takedowns made the difference, i disagree. take down is second to the last in ONE Judging criteria in order of impotance or weight. Moraes won because of his NEAR FINISH and DAMAGE inflicted (geje was limping near the end of round 4) ONE judging criteria in order of importance or percentage weight.. 1. near finish (KO/SUBMISSION) 2. damage inflicted 3. striking superiority 4. takedown (offense/defense) 5. agression
