If it wasn't for the fact it got patched in the remakes I would've believed showing the pokedoll to the ghost was intended, because it seems genuinely heartwarming to calm it down by showing it something cute.
Fr that'd be such a sweet and nice ending... I actually havent played the games, but what are you _supposed_ to do? (I really hope you arent supposed to just go "not my problem!" And battle it)
@@Ckwhc Sadly yes after you reveal its true form with a scope you get from another area you battle it to calm it down. Only difference from a normal (not dead) Marowak is that you can't catch it for obvious reasons.

For Mew in Pokemon Pinball it is worth mentioning that you get the Pokedex entry even if you don't catch it. You only need to hit it three (or four, I don't remember the precise number) times to get it.

So it's a bot, or a set of bots. That follow / "watch" all yt comment sections, write in "text me" then whatever the name of the ytber is. Huh- Innovative but also really unsettling and petty.
I don't think you even have to hit Mew at all. Just reveal it and then wait for time to expire without losing the ball to get its Dex entry. And yeah, I hate those god-awful bots. I always report the comment and its channel whenever I see them.
Don't get too spooked, it's presumably rigged to send a link when you text, for whatever prize, then do a run of the mill smash and grab hack/virus/identity theft/what have you. Awful? Yes. But at least it's just a scam.
Honestly, it's kind of scary how well the absolutely safe capsule does it's job. It's so safe that it can't be scratched even when the games CODE has been altered. Anyone in the capsule would be safe even from the most powerful attacks in video game history.

@@airam1721 Honestly i think its like the capsule isn't an enemy, so it doesn't have HP, it's probably just an object. At that point the only way would be to change it from an object to an ID with a health bar, then modify the health bar to 0 or -1 and then see what happens. Idk, I'm not a coder lol

Makes me feel a little bad for Porky... In Mother 3, he's implied to be essentially immortal, but he aged so much he cannot really move at all (hence his spider-y mech thing.) The Absolutely Safe Capsule was built to keep the user "Absolutely Safe" from anything outside, even the god-like powers of cheating cannot harm the capsule. Problem is, it "protects" the user from the danger of exiting the capsule. Porky's gonna be trapped in the thing for eternity, unable to move due to his age, unable to die due to his immortality, and unable to be killed by anything thanks to the capsule. When the sun is gone and even when the universe itself is no more, Pokey will still be there, alive, floating helplessly in the void...
Dawn and lyra are true innovators for realizing that you can still catch a Pokémon that’s fainted.

That's what they do in the anime.Honestly they should give us an opportunity to catch fainted pokemon,if you defeat a pokemon you can have a 50% chance to catch it with any poke ball but if you fail the pokemon is gone.
Try catching the Pokemon egg. I remember the Game Shark code for Pokemon Gold, Silver, and Crystal Version to encounter the egg. I read that if I caught the egg, it will keep hatching, and it will keep being an egg inside an egg. I think the Pokemon was afraid to be born, so it kept covering itself in an egg. For some reason, when I caught it, the game froze, so my game might be so broke or someone might have not tried the thing out to see if it works. Those glitches do have random effects.

Although it is immortal the sandbag has hidden in the field where you have to throw it, no one has ever seen it in adventure mode...

You can't outrun the running man, the Absolutely Safe Capsule can't be broken, and Sandbag can't be destroyed.

@@WhimsicalLittledawg It is impossible, the Triforce Percent run basically hacks the game in-game to change that outcome, it's amazing how far the community has come though
My favourite example is Tales of Symphonia, which has a battle you're supposed to lose near the beginning. You can grind up for hours until you can actually beat it, and the game actually acknowledges it! But it starts another fight against another boss immediatly, which just plays the lose cutscene even if you were crazy enough to grind enough to win that fight. I know this because child me actually did it.
New Game+ makes it easier. I replayed that game on GameCube over 20 times in my childhood. Er... not much else to play.
Same thing with the first battle with Yggdrasill. You are not meant to win, but if you've got new game + Exp multipliers, you'll easily avoid him destroying you. He basically won't take any damage and the battle will automatically end after about 5 minutes or so lol

Grade bonuses all maxed usually helps massively but in most tales games the fights you're not supposed to win still dont let you win or boss doesnt get KOed and story resumes after some time. Murdering zestiria final boss early actually triggers a bad ending.
DMC 5 does this too, with Urizen in the prologue. Except instead of defeating you anyway, the game just ends.

i like how in the pokemon tutorials, they gain 'boosted' xp. that effect is typically for when a pokemon is traded to you, so it checks to see if the original trainer of the current pokemon isnt you. dawn and lyra's pokemon apparently have their OTs set despite that being impossible to see typically
Is it possible to gain exp and to level up ? Is it possible to learn a new move ?
Level up, yes. Learn a new move, no. The ai glitches out and gets stuck trying to throw a pokeball
It's also possible that the code is something like checking if the OT number is equal to your trainer ID, and if not boost XP. If that's the case, then a null OT number should still qualify

@@nabla41 it can even evolve if you hack the exp and multiply it by alot but you have to hack the game to make sure it doesnt learn moves otherwise it gets looped

Because blinding light can lead into everlasting darkness if unbalanced. Too much light leads to overwhelming darkness. Too much darkness will lead to an eventual overload of light that will be so nerve racking having already adjusted to the darkness, it will bring you back to darkness. Darkness darkness light darkness in the light of light that is darkness of lights darkness.

The Flash once runned against a being able to transport instantly from one extreme of the galaxy to the opposite side (in 1 planck instant) and won. The Flash is still trying to outrun the runner guy in OOT...

In Yugioh Forbidden Memories there is a duel near the beginning of the game that you are required to lose to progress the story. If you win, you still get a card ( which can be a really good one ) and then you are forced to fight again.

Yeah, I couldn't beat that guy on my first playthrough, but on New Game+, armed with much better cards, I beat Heishin I think 20 times in a row before I finally let him beat me so that the story would advance and I could save my game with all the cards I won.

So I guess Dawn and Lyra canonically are able to capture the souls of Pokemon. Would've helped if they existed in gen 1.

Could be a game limitation thing like a number is needed for the dex entry but you set it to the highest so no one catches it. Maybe same type of thing for mysterious woman maybe it’s her stats for later in the game.

That F-Zero Master class unwinnable thing makes so much sense now, ever since I've played it as a kid, I've always picked the Golden Fox and did great. What always bothered me (up until I seen this video) is that no matter how hard I tried, I could only beat Master Class as the Blue Falcon and it irks/irked me, this video finally shed some light on why I couldn't win...Damn you Nintendo! *Shakes fist angrily*

Thanks for making this video, it's very interesting to see just how the game handles boss fights that are supposed to be lost. I wondered what would happen in the past, but couldnt really find much on the topic. I figured the game would carry on as if you lost anyways, but some confirmation is always nice.
The Legend of Zelda series is remarkably dark and downright creepy at times, especially for a series billed as for all ages. Sometimes, Zelda provokes a creeping feeling of unease, while at others it just outright creates nightmares.

In advance wars 2(Black Hole Rising), the mission "2 week trial" was meant to be unbeatable through HQ capture, as the enemy has so much more units and factories than you. The goal is to just hold out for the 14 days you have. However, it is barely possible to capture the enemy's HQ, and there are videos on youtube which show it (with savestates).
Reminds me of some DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 2 missions that ask you to survive for like a minute against a super-powered opponent. They have extra health, or extra defense, but they still take damage and it's possible to get their HP down to 0 and win the fight. Unfortunately, that loses the mission.

In Dragon Ball : Advanced Adventures, there's two boss fights against Tao Pai Pai and King Piccolo where you're supposed to loose because the AI is cranked over the max difficulty, however if you're careful enough you could still manage to beat them, enabling a special sequence where the boss one-shot you with a beam attack, I loved to do that each playthrough after I figured how to beat them

Catching the Pokémon at the end kinda makes sense. After all, how are they gonna escape if they are placed in a coma and will never wake up

I can’t remember which game we we’re doing but my friend managed to break the catching tutorial and softlocked himself. We used a randomiser and messed with the catching tutorial which normally means that both Pokémon will be different, but for someone reason in that game specifically if the Pokémon supposed to be caught dies the game just infinitely depletes it’s hp so the turn never ends.
one of the more interesting "unwinnable" fights was in tales of destiny. There's a fight that you're supposed to lose, but if you beat it (either by cheating, or by doing an egregiously unreasonable amount of grinding before it), you get an actual special ending for the game.

I don't know why but it's fucking hilarious seeing Isaac DEAD on the floor after they celebrated victory. It's like some kind of cartoon scene where the main characters hallucinate that they're winning a tavern fight while they're unconscious on the floor with bruises and bandages.

There is apparently about a 1/10,000 chance that Wally will knock out Ralts in his catching tutorial. I’d SR for it if it didn’t run the risk of uncatchable shiny Ralts
I've read 1/199,495. Minimum HP and Defense for Ralts, Defense lowering nature for Ralts, max attack IV or semi-high attack and attack nature for Zigzagoon, two maximum damage Tackles that don't miss... yeah, unlikely to happen by accident.

Golden Sun and Golden Sun 2 were among the greatest RPG games of their times. And it was only recently I learned and came across Golden Sun 3, but now I need a new DS or emulator to play it.
In Magi-Nation (a GBC game), there's an "unwinnable" fight about 2/5 through the game where you fight Morag, one of the big baddies. The creature battle starts relatively normally, and it feels like you might be able to win...until he sends out insanely beefy creatures that can easily beat down anything you throw at them. I think it's a pretty cool moment, but he definitely has his limits. With cheats (or a super powerful New Game Plus team), you can defeat him! However, nothing changes after the battle.

I had a GameShark with the infinite time code, and a code I somehow stumbled upon during trying to use the built in cheat generator, that slowly floated the ball upwards while the GS switch was on, and returns to normal when switched off. I see that TAS has it hitting from above, I kept hitting it mostly from below. That code is 01FEBED4 1. Don't use it before launching the ball, or it'll move slow as hell and it'll stay slow until you either lose the ball, or start a bonus stage. Not sure if going to Catch or Evo mode, or map change resets it, ball moves way too slow to try for it(and I'm not _that_ patient). 2. Careful when using it in bonus stages, as the wrong activation after you've cleared the stage & the ball is intended to go and STAY below the paddles, you can softlock and ruin a run.

With the catching tutorials in Pokemon, your rival/friend has a chance to crit the pokemon, which will end the battle, but because it was done with cheats, the tutorial goes on as normal, just without the opposing pokemon being visible.
Specifically Wally’s in Gen 3 is possible to lose. High enough Attack on the Zigzagoon, low enough HP and Defence on the Ralts, and a _High Roll_ Crit are required. The Battle instantly ends and Wally will act like he caught it.
