In this video, the technical support specialists at Rostra Precision Controls are installing our all-new LED daytime running light system on a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. The DRL system features custom fender bezels, two 5-LED lamps, and vehicle-specific wiring harnesses. Part number 260-1024-JEEP provides 2007-2013 Wranglers with a way of increasing their on-road visibility, and filling the much needed empty space on the face of the front fender flare.

Gotta say I love the video and it was super informative and very thorough. The only complaint that I have is that after you do that great video there is no head on view of of the final finished product in the shop. The only time you show the final product is when you do that 40+mph drive by at the end, DURING THE DAY! Literally I tried to pause the video so I could see how they looked and it was just a blur.

You guys are awesome that was so informative and that's how installation videos should be . But the only thing that bothers me . You could show us what u just installed in action at night too .
I put these on my 2014 Sahara, love them, they have a bright mode for daytime running lights, then when your headlights or parking lights are activated they automatically dim slightly. They are not ment for "off road" lighting I love the way they look

I am installing on 2014 Jeep Wrangler Altitude. The fuse-box connections appear wrong in the instructions. What fuse positions do I hook-up the ignition and illumination wire?? Thanks!

how much light do these produce
They're totally functional on a couple of different levels. During the day, they provide an ultra-white pinpoint light that gets the attention of other drivers. They're similar to what you may have seen on some very high-end luxury cars. As well, they make for great nighttime driving lights if you decide to wire the illumination wire to a separate switch so that you can dim them when other drivers are in front of you.

Just installed this today and realized that my cutting skills suck. Luckily the molding hid most of my imperfections. I love the way these DRLs enhance my Front Fenders and gives extra visibility on the road! I watched this video, while I was doing the installation, and paused it several times. @@joseastorga1633 - They are DRL and are on all the time. I paid $299.00 and came across this Product on KZhead. I like them, but would not do it again, since I am eventually upgrading my Fender Flares.

Not something I'd put on my Jeep, but the video is well done. But if you have to show someone how to open and prop up their hood, I think this install might be a tad over their head. :-)
I have a video on removing JK seats and when I say that you have to remove the headrest, I tell the viewers that if you don't know how to remove the headrest, you shouldn't be attempting to remove the seats 😁🤣
They were unfortunately a bit hard to capture on video since the LED lights flooding the camera lens made everything go blurry. We ended up with video that looked like J.J. Abrams version of Star Trek! Feel free to check out some high resolution images at the link in the description, though. Thanks for the feedback!
It looks like a very good kit. Especially the ATM fuse adapter is neat. However, I am concerned about the cut out for the light being so close to the edge of the fender. There is very little plastic left there, to support the bottom of the light.
Thank you for your feedback. While we recommend aligning the cut-out template included with the system to the bottom of the fender, it can be positioned wherever the installer is most comfortable, including a bit higher as long as you don't hit the top curve in the fender.

It can be purchased for much less. $250-300. I called a distributor for Rostra and purchased it today.
I was always told to unplug the positive from the battery seeing as that is what is carrying the charge. So why would you disconnect the NEG?

Can this work with painted fenders as well?
Absolutely. The install process is the same but we usually put masking tape on the fenders before applying the paper cut-out template if the fenders are paints for a bit of extra scratch protection.

Mayura Doolwela I just used a normal dremel with a cutting wheel. Its only fiberglass, and with the cutting wheel, I found that I had better control over where the cut was... but that's just me. I have a white 2013 and they look pretty good!

Is it me or did he use the left template on the right fender? Are they the same? If so, why have a big L?
Good eye. When we originally released this system, we had one template included with the instructions and installers would simply flip it horizontally to do the other fender. Because the paper was prone to tearing, the instructions now include a Left and a Right template.
how rugged is the rear of the lamp? Looks like it must take a beating when on mud.
The lamp is actually encased in a the plastic bezel so it never really takes direct contact from any debris. Don't think we've ever seen one come back broken in the three years they've been available for sale.
I would love to have a set for my 2016 wrangler sport, but since I have led headlights they already come with drl. what is the cost for these incase I want a set which I think I do?

This item fits 2007-2014 Jeep Wranglers. The one we used in our video is a 2013 model.
It's a sport and 2007 - 2013 somewhere in there. It's the new body style but has orange turn signals, the 2014 mine and newer has clear turn signals with an orange bulb.

What are the dimensions? Im looking for a light to fill the gap between my flare and bumper, but its only 3/4 inch so I'm not sure if these would be too big.

MF11283 After I bought my Wrangler I promptly took it off road here in Nevada and popped its scratch and off road cherry. Jeeps are made to be used off road. Sad to see all those lifted Jeeps that will never see off road.
steeltimberwolf how long is "promptly" mine made it 60 hours almost to the minute before I had it "texas pinstriped" up. I had to laugh at everyone at work that about crapped them selves over me "doing that" to a 40K dollar car
MF11283 Off the lot and into the hills. I'm in Reno, NV. Desert is only 20 minutes max in any direction. Spent the rest of the day and half the tank breaking her in.
It would have been a better ending to the video if you where driving at night. So we can see what it looks like. Good video anyway.

Yeah... It's a jeep... The lights are for better lighting, hence the name "lights." Maybe the owner wants to see the trail better. Installing lights onto a car doesn't mean it's a luxury suv. I suppose if you put some big ass light bar on the windshield that would be acceptable for your dumb ass.
These lights don't help u see it's so other people see u during the day.

Really, Larry? I have a Wrangler Unlimited w/hard top. It is both warm and comfortable in the winter and cool and comfortable in the summer. If yours is not, sell it !
A JK doesn't make as much noise as past models when completely stock. It doesn't make any rattling noise, just some road noise when driving at fast speeds. If you're not a jeep guy you're not a jeep guy. Just don't try to shit on us and keep your opinions to yourself.
