Now we need the ‘easy put it back on’ video 😊😂😂
Man after trying this and failing, I must say you are an absolute unit. That thing is super heavy. Well done. I’ll wait for my son to get home😅
You’re too funny haha, that’s definitely what I recommend!
I couldn't manage it safely with my 2-door. I've been working on my deadlift and overhead press though. Maybe in 2024. :P
@@Tiger74147 yea. Madness!!! Maybeeeee with a 2 door
Just LOL when you said you can guarantee that it's gonna rain when you take the top off. I bought my first Jeep Wrangler last week. Took the top off for the first time with beuatiful skies and went to the beach. Sure enough dark clouds rolled in by the afternoon and me and my family did a mad dash home in the pouring rain. Got soaked, but definitley a funny memory and a good lesson learned that you have to check the weather as a Jeep owner. LOL. Whole ride home saying "ROOKIE MISTAKE"
😂😂 we have all been there before, unfortunately a couple times in my case haha thanks for watching!
Haha it took you so long you started with Tennessee plates and ended with Virginia plates!😂. But very helpful. Thanks!
Too funny, thanks for watching!
Hahaha
Nicely done! That's how Ive done it with my two door for the last 10 years. Good to know it works just as easy with the 4 door I'm trading for.
I appreciate you watching, glad this helped!
Hey how much does the main top weigh?
Even struggling you made it look easy. The spare tire removed is one huge plus but I'm sure you're not 5'9" like me. I wouldn't recommend that anyone try this alone. If not perfectly balanced I've seen them slide down one side of the Jeep. The way it's worked best for me is to get it all undone and have my nephew and son lift the top an inch off the body as I drive away. They then squat and leave it right there. Your videos are fantastic and as a New Yorker I'm definitely enjoying your great accent. Keep it up Pal!
You are right you definitely need to be a bit taller to do it easy. That’s a great idea if you have some extra helping hands. Thanks for watching!
Top Lift Pro and a power ratchet make this the easiest and safest one man job. Worth every penny.
I will have to check that out, thanks for watching!
Thank you for this instructional video. Very informative. You know folks will be definitely taking the tops off after watching this. Thank you for your time. You make a difference in ppls lives when you do videos like this. 🙏🏼
I greatly appreciate the kind words and glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Am picking my first Wrangler up this weekend and you made it look easy. Thanks for sharing!
I'm glad I could help, thanks for watching!
This guy is a beast. I bet he takes in all the shopping bags in one trip.
You aren't wrong haha
Lol. Chiropractors are going to love this video. Anyone who does it like this is going to need to see one. Lol
😂 you are so right, should have got an office to sponsor the video 😅 thanks for watching!
My thought exactly! Lol
Naw he is young. Old timers will have more trouble with this method.
I'm sorry you're no longer a man.
I’d have done it this way too at his age!
Think I speak for all jeep adults with back problems when I say it's not worth it to do it like that man, I use straps and pull under the kids swing set.
That is a way better option if you have the right setup! Thanks for watching!
What about a lifting machine? I got the top lift pro and it was pricy but I finally get to ride with no top. The doors are easy enough for me to do by myself.
@@valeriew4833 yeah I've thought about it but to be honest I'd rather leave the top on and take doors off, to each their own.
The best video I have watched when it comes to disassembling a wrangler! Very well spoken! Thank you!
I greatly appreciate it, thanks for watching!
Thanks, this helped. Your jeep looks incredible from your interior to the color of your paint. Also, it sounds amazing, too. Keep it up.
I greatly appreciate it, thanks for watching!
Your wrangler looks awesome. The sound is off this world. Lovely
I appreciate it, thanks for watching!
It is absolutely insane that you are able to do that by yourself. I do appreciate the in depth tutorial that accurately explains how to remove all of the hardware keeping the top on. It is spot on and you are absolutely correct that you shouldn't use power tools to loosen or tighten the bolts on a Jeep. That being said, They are stupid heavy and I would recommend even more than 2 people if someone wants to remove the more modern hard top on today's Jeep Wranglers, or purchase one of the many lifts that they have. There are some that are just racks that hold the weight, and others you can just hang from your garage and put the top on or off whenever you want.
There are much better options to get this done but if you have nothing an nobody to help this is the best way. Thanks for watching!
I don't often add KZhead comments, but I have to commend you for doing that! that is sick. I'm switching from 6 years of ragtop. finally buying that hardtop. I'm pumped!
I appreciate it and you are gonna love it my first 4 years with a Jeep was in a rag top. After I got a hard tip I’ve never gone back haha Thanks for watching!
I didn't imagine that roof holds on 8 bolts only, so good engineering! And I wasn't thinking that it's so light so you can take it off by yourself thanks for the video!
Yes sir, they have it figured out. Thanks for watching!
It weighs about 160 pounds. It is absolutely NOT LIGHT and NOT easy to take off...
Doesn't look light to me
That’s an awesome truck and was surprisingly blown away with the sound vrooom 🔥🔥🔥👌🏽
I appreciate it, thanks for watching!
Mann I can't get over that rumble. Great looking and sounding Jeep 👍
I appreciate it, thanks for watching!
Dude...FANTASTIC! Well done, great vid.... entertaining and some comedy at the same time. Super cool to see how you did this on your own!! Good stuff, man!
I greatly appreciate it, thanks for watching!
Great video thanks for this ! A lot of people wouldn’t know what steps to take
I have been there before and tried to find a video like this haha thank you for watching!
@@GodspeedZRZ ofc!thanks for making !
You're a hero.... I hope you know that. I've never thought of trying this. God bless you. I watched this video waiting and you actually did what the title said. Man I can't tell you how impressed I am. I shouted when you lifted the hardtop 😂
That’s too funny, I greatly appreciate it! Thanks for watching!
You're something else kid ! 💪👍🙏
Completely badass, thanks for the video!
Dude you're a beast! Realistically looks like a two person job just to be extra safe for the Jeep and the people. Nice video, thank you!
I appreciate it haha Thank you for watching!
I can’t wrap my head around the license plate going from TN to VA within minutes. This is the best way to remove by yourself though, great video!
Haha too funny, thanks for watching!
Great vid! First time, Jeep owner and looking forward to taking the top off soon!!!
You’re gonna love it, thanks for watching!
DON'T use this method... you will regret it!
Feels like a good video to plug my personal training business
Now is your time to shine haha Thanks for watching!
What exhaust system do you have?? Sounds great!!! Also, where did you get the LED light box above your license plate?? TIA
This is a great video. I had 2018 Sahara and never took the top off once, only the panels. I just got a 24 Rubicon and the top is coming off. Thanks, brother. ✌️
Thank you, you will really get to enjoy it now! Thanks for watching!
I was like oh no my boy did it tho. Great video and seriously one of the sickest Jeeps I’ve seen. When the top was off I was like man it looks good. ✌🏽
I greatly appreciate it, thanks for watching!
I love the look of top off doors on. Nice Jeep.
I really liked it too oddly enough, Thanks for watching!
That did not look anything resembling easy....shaking knees and the wobble!!! This was the funniest shit I've seen in a while. Thanks!
Thanks for watching 😅
Very cool!! I bought my Wrangler about 6 months ago New, I've been wanting to pop off the top and doors, only 2 by the way, so that being said with a 2 door it shouldn't be bad getting that top off!! I am buying a soft top for the summer months too!!
The two door top is much easier to take on and off! Congratulations on the new ride, thanks for watching!
Great video! This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
Glad I could help!
Using the strength of the Lord! Literally!!! God bless!
Yes sir, thanks for watching!
Unsure it would work without the spare tire delete unfortunately. But, def impressed with getting it off alone, let alone being your own camera man! 😂 Keep up the great videos!
I honestly didn’t even think of that! I’ve never had a hard tip on a Jeep I have the spare tire on 😅 thanks for watching and for pointing that out!
I did my jku with the spare on it alone a few years ago. The only difference is you leave the tailgate open the entire process.
I have the spare on and I still do it the same way he did. It’s awkward but doable
@@superdave1973Same here. Awkward but doable.
Agreed. Getting it around that spare tire with keeping the tailgate open is tricky. Might try closing it and sliding it off the back like he did. Always a fun one man show😅
BROOOOOOOO You're a beast!! That was amazing step by step. I'm going to do the same thing, record I and send it to you. Wish me luck!!
You got it! Thanks for watching!
LOVE your accent. I thought I was the only one that placed it on the floor. LOVE your dont tread on me plates. wish new mexico had that option
I appreciated that haha thanks for watching!
Great video and great looking Jeep!
I appreciate it, thanks for watching!
You gave me more confidence to try it myself.
Godspeed brother, thanks for watching!
Beast mode! Godspeed 🤜🤛
Thanks for watching, Godspeed brother!
Your Jeep is my dream Jeep, and the sound is awesome!!! Thanks for sharing! SUB and LIKED!!!
It’s my dream too, thanks for watching!
Took the hard top off my Jeep w/ my Fiancé for the first time after a year! Thank you for showing me how it’s done!
Glad I could help, thanks for watching!
I deff need the 392, I have a 2018 JLU 2.0 and though envy isn't good I just can't get enough of that sound.
That sound is hard to beat, thanks for watching!
😆😅🤣🤣 Thank god you have great knees !! I will give it a shot this fall too .. Good job !
Love this man. You rock. Can’t wait to try this
I appreciate it, thanks for watching!
Removing the Top by yourself, ...Priceless. The Doctor bill when you hurt your back,...Very Expensive.
Too funny, thanks for watching!
@@GodspeedZRZ Your 392 Rubi does look Badass! Good content! Jeeps rule!
@@bradmurphy5067 I greatly appreciate it!
This is the funniest video I’ve seen today. Thank you
Thanks for watching!
@@GodspeedZRZ takes some major strength to do what u did. Most people are gonna drop it
I don’t have much strength anymore, this was mostly technique haha
Dude love your videos. I’ve got a Sahara unlimited. I do it very similarly but I stand behind the rear bumper and list it up, slide it back til it’s about to slide off the sound bar, then reposition and balance and lift it, balance on my head and then walk it next to the house and set the tips down first and crawl out from under it. I’m sure a lot of people don’t have the strength to lift and carry it. I’m a fairly strong, young guy and sometimes I struggle or almost drop it. Mine is scratched to hell. Looking at a 392 now.
It's not a technique for the weak or short haha You will love the 392!
Great Job taking the top off
Thank you sir!
Enjoyed your video and gonna try taking top off by myself! Badass and great video.
I greatly appreciate it, thanks for watching!
Looks great man can’t wait for the weather to hold to take mine off. Had an unrelated question I should have asked earlier but had not thought about it until you started up. My 392 has a noise rash time I cold start it. Sounds almost like a belt is squeaking. But then after a minute or two if fades away. I took it to my local dealer and they said it was the “Hemi tick”. That this is something that is fairly common with Hemi motors. That is doesn’t do any harm and isn’t correctable. Just wanted to run that buy you as you know a lot about vehicles. Appreciate anything you have to add thanks bud.
I have the same thing but what is the cause of my issue is the catalytic converter gasket. As it warms up its seals and the tick is gone. Thanks for watching!
@@GodspeedZRZ Thanks for the quick reply! So you aren’t to worried about it then? I just wanted to make sure if it was something I should get fixed while it’s under warranty. I did some research and one thing I thought it could be is the hydraulic lifters. Supposedly they have this same kind of squeak or tict but it should only last a few secs. I timed mine and it lasts about 30 seconds. The video I watched from a hemi technician said one could be failing. If it lasts a few minutes so not quite there yet. Just seems longer than it should happen for.
Great instructional video! I just bought my jeep last week and I can't wait to take the top off but it looks a bit too complicated to do solo so I'll definitely have to have help! Lol
I’m glad I could help, I hope you enjoy it!
@@GodspeedZRZ Thanks! 😊
My boy strong no lie . I try this myself one time I was like no no call my brother help me . But he did it now I wanna try it 😂 ❤
I swear it’s just a mental thing as long as you get your hand in the right spot 😅 thanks for watching!
Thank God, I will buy one for myself
You can't beat them!
Great video man! Glad to know I can do this solo as I'm about the same build as you. May I ask what exhaust you have? Your Jeep sounds amazing
Thanks for watching, This is the 392 V8 and it is just a muffler and resonator delete!
Buddy, I liked this video because you took the time to rotate the camera while carrying the hard top! 🤣🤣🤣
Too funny, I greatly appreciate it!
Great video! Right up to the point where ya drove with no seatbelt on.
Those roads might as well be a driveway haha thanks for watching!
Outstanding and very enjoyable.
I greatly appreciate it!
You are the man! Thanks for showing new jeep owners how to do it.
Thank you for watching!
Ha! I always did mine the same. As long as you dont have far to walk it ,it's pretty simple and easy.
Yes sir, thanks for watching!
Shoutout for the great video!
I greatly appreciate it, thanks for watching!
That Jeep is badass. Good job, and gotta say, this kid is stronger than he looks. And not sure where's he's from, but he has the Eastern KY accent down
You pretty much got it, I'm from southwestern Virginia about 30 min form the KY line. Thank you for watching!
Great video. Thank you for sharing this. What type of exhaust do you have on your Wrangler?
Thanks for watching, This is the 392 6.4L V8 and it has a straight pipe!
Just got my 2023 4 door wrangler Willy’s about 2 months ago and gonna drop the top for the 1st time today wish me luck guys 😁
Best of luck brother, hope this helped!
definitely a dif. look for sure but love the tires n whole look bro very nice. what exhaust though 🤯😎
I appreciate it, it’s a custom exhaust but this has the 6.4 392 hemi!
Sounds and looks great!
I appreciate it!
I got my first ever used 2018 Rubicon jl today , I’m definitely doing this, 😮
Congratulations I hope you enjoy it!
@@GodspeedZRZ thank you 🙏
Nothing like being topless😍! Looks cool with the top off and doors on but I like it better all off or just the doors off with the top on.
You and me both
Hi bro. Nice Jeep! Thanks for the info! What size wheels and tires you got there ? And what kind of tires ?
I appreciate it, I am running 38x15.50s and 20x12 -44s they are mickey Thompson Baja bass mts
Great looking Jeep!
I appreciate it, thanks for watching!
Rutherford County! I love it. I’m Davidson county myself!
How awesome, practically neighbors haha Thanks for watching!
Great video bud. Absolutely love that Jeep and thay color!!
I appreciate it, thanks for watching!
Well, I did that before and dropped it on a corner of the hardtop. No real damage, but now I get a friend to help. Oh to be young again and bend down that far and get back up. It's not the weight, it's the awkwardness of getting down.
I couldn’t agree more about the awareness. I’ve seen damage on the corners more times than I can count here at the dealership on trade in. Thanks for watching!
Damn that thing is gorgeous.. I am going to buy one now for my marketing company, no doubt about it!
That's a great idea, thank you for watching!
That's a sweet looking jeep
Thank you sir, I appreciate it!
I once needed one I could take down, so I made a giant sawhorse w/full length 2x4’s. Then attached a pulley in center, a pulley on end(by sawhorse bracket), then an eyebolt on that side’s leg. Then I attached a come-along to eyebolt, then to a rope that I ran thru pulleys.
Now that is some ingenuity, thanks for watching!
this 392 is so beautiful!!
Thanks so much!
That Jeep is DOPE !!!
I appreciate it, thanks for watching!
I had a 1975 CJ5, V8 with a Mayer metal hard top cab. After Market. I used Armaflex for insulation and sound buffer because it rattled loudly. I took it off by myself very much the same way! It was heavier than yours because top was all connected, front to back. I also had rag tops and Bikini half top. The advantage with the bulky hardtop was I could lock it up. Windows were plexiglass. Great Machine! Kept it over 30 years. Big mistake letting it go!
That sounds like an awesome ride! Thanks for watching!
@@GodspeedZRZ, Thank You for reply! You have a Beautiful Ride! Video brought back Heart Memories for me 🙏🏻
Nicely done. Done the same with truck toppers in the past. You should have flipped the windshield down as well if your really want the open air experience.
Thank you, I generally prefer to keep the bugs out of my face haha it’s great off-road but not on road haha
Great job ❤
Thank you for watching!
Its funny that this just popped up on my feed. I just put the hard top of my Gladiator back on by myself.
The gladiator definitely deserves a video on that! Thanks for watching!
Wow your Jeep looks incredible! I need one, :)
I appreciate it, thanks for watching!
Cool license plate trick!
Glad you liked it haha Thanks for watching!
Great video! Thanks a lot and Godspeed!
Thank you for watching!
Nice video thanks, your jeep looks amazing. What tires, wheels and height do you have?
Thank you, they are 38x15.50r20 tires and 20x12-44 wheels!
Did I get it right you have 2 inches lift?
That sounds good and looks good, young man!!! Ok, I'm all for doing things to my jk myself with a little help from my cousin, but how heavy is that back part? Well, I'm going to attempt to try it solo. Thanks for the tip!!!
It's not too heavy just awkward haha thanks for watching!
I usually have a custom canvas top made that stores in the back and winter time I put the hard top back on . Since I live in the Oregon cascades it can rain in minutes. I haven’t had one made yet for my 2024 Willy’s but this coming spring it’s on the list
That’s a really good idea!
Love that 392!
Thanks for watching!
Awesome....I've done a variation of this where you basically have to sit in the trunk, lift, and then walk out with it over your head. This seems much easier since you're already standing when you start lifting. I wonder how easy it is to lift off the ground though. I've been lucky that I've had someone around when it's time to put the roof back on. Awesome video
I greatly appreciate it, it is a little awkward lifting it from the ground but doable haha Thanks for watching!
@@GodspeedZRZ Update....tried this last week. Taking the top off like this only really works if your spare tire isn't attached to the trunk door...mine is 👎. So I may need to find better options...or just deal with it. ha.
THANKS MAN! Had to do it in a garage. I’m in Chicago so it’s hard getting a harness system
I'm glad I could help, thanks for watching!
On looks, with the top on, I give it a ‘5.’ with the top off, I give it a ‘8.’ with the top and doors off its a big ‘10.’ It's now a beast.
I couldn’t agree more, striped down it’s a bad unit!
I was waiting for you to put it back on using the reverse technique.
That is in the next video haha
Those tops are extremely heavy, have muscles to move that top. Kudos
Once you get the technique down you would be surprised what you can lift haha thanks for watching!
Good squat form, lol. When i was your age, i could lift the top and walk it down the bumper. Now i have to do it like you did lol.
I appreciate it haha
This one made me chuckle. :)
😅 thank you for watching!
Good video thank you
Thats Country Boy strength right there lol
You must be right haha Thanks for watching!
