Organic Stevia would be safer. Many folks-including myself-can't handle the sugar alcohols (beyond the minimal amt.in natural fruits).
Smaller channels are stealing your recipe. 🇬🇧👍

I’m a diabetics, this is the right cake for me, thank you for the recipe,I will surely try this
I’m eating it right now and thoroughly enjoying it! I didn’t use apple, just loads of fresh blueberries from a local farm. I added 1/3 cup sugar which seems like just the right amount of sweetness. The consistency is like the British dessert “Queen of Puddings”. Definitely more of a pudding than a cake but I love it! I topped my serving with soy milk instead of cream.
Thanks for sharing. I was wondering if it was ok to just skip the apples and by your experience it seems like its perfectly fine. I will try it the way you did it. Thank you :)
I think the idea of her recipes is to avoid all (white, table?) sugar, if possible.
Just baked it with whole wheat oatmeal, apple, fresh blueberries, cinnamon, greek yogurt. Added a scoop of protein and a little extra bran as well as almond flour to tighten it. Had extra so made two to share. It's a delicious hit here in France. Thank you🎊🎊💜💜
did you add greek yogurt instead of egg?
🎉 simply brilliant ❤
@@bjohnston3659 Hi, in France you can find oatmeal made from whole wheat which has more fiber than regular oatmeal
Do you mean whole grain oatmeal? Whole wheat is wheat. Oats are oats.
Dust the blueberries with a touch of flour and they won’t sink to the bottom
Wait... would you be willing to share how that works? I'm eager to learn.
Yeah but the point is this recipe doesn’t have flour.
@@omarrahman88 I wonder if oatmeal ground in a small blender would stabilize the blueberries.
You are right
...or some starch.

Not only it looks delicious but the presentation is like an food asmr ❤️ will certainly try! Thank you !
It's great...I substituted apple sauce for the butter and it looks the same and tastes delicious.
Great idea...did you use the same amount in grams for the substitution? Thanks
I was just going to ask if that was a possibility! How did that turn out? I’ve read some comments that the cake is more like a soft bread pudding

I'm 75 and I eat this way. Thanks for a great recipe to add to my growing list.
Tried this for breakfast this morning. So good!
I made this yesterday and its already gone haha.. but i only had frozen blueberries so it turned out a bit watery which was fine after it cooled completely but i would add less water if using frozen blueberries. Thank you for the recipe!!
Great tip. I too will be using frozen blueberries so thanks for the advice!
Have you tried to defrost the blueberries and strain out the excess liquids? This is also a possibility. I say that, since I can't get fresh blueberries either. At least, not those that cost less than... 💎💍Lol... Anyways, sounds like your cake turned out just great! I can't wait to try it myself (with my soggy blueberries... 😉 Haha...) Besides, if I could find such beautiful *FRESH* blueberries, I'd rather eat them as is... celebrate them! Funny, we always dream of what we can't have...!!! Even if it's just... *BLUEBERRIES* 🫐 !!!
what size pan did you use. ive made it but it didnt bake correctly cant find that size pan. im in the US please help. tyou
@@donnabloom9826 I used Dr Oetker's silicone loaf mold, it is 24L x 10H x 7,5W cm. I dont know what that is in inches but it really does not matter, I just always take what I have :) I would probably say either bake it longer or use less water ^^ Mine was watery when done but after it completely cooled, it was fine to eat. I just ate it from the pan haha..
Can I use monk fruit instead of stevia? I love this recipe! Can’t wait to make it.

Sylvia - I am in Sydney Australia - love your simple oats cakes - look forward to baking them. Thank you for posting.❤🙏🏾
I have made this twice now, and although it’s all right, it’s really more like baked oatmeal than a bread or cake sort of texture. The second time I added a quarter cup of flour to see if that would help, and it really didn’t. So next time I will add half a cup. It also is not very sweet at all, so I used a generous half a cup of blueberries to help sweeten it up some more. I want to keep working with the recipe because I think it could be really good if I can just get the texture to be the way I want it. I slice it into thick slices and have them for breakfast. It’s very filling and a great way to start my day!
Just the review I was looking for!! I was curious about the texture
Maple syrup would be good and brown sugar
@@kennethhudson8013 yeah great dieting there, load it up with sugars.
Try blending the oats until they resemble flour…works better….I use one egg 40grms of oats and a spoon of Greek yogurt….frozen blueberries…and microwave three mins in the bowl..serve with more yogurt and some honey.
@@TabithaStar pure maple syrup is not only high in antioxidants, but every spoonful offers nutrients like riboflavin, zinc, magnesium, calcium and potassium
Today is 6/18/2023. I followed your recipe converted to USA measurements and they were exact. TY. I did substitute the sweetener with TBSP honey. I also sprinkled a little cinnamon in the mix. What I especially like is that it is not sweet but still good. I love oatmeal, apples and blueberries. The bread/cake turned out just right. I am Barbara in Alabama, USA. 🎉
I am Brazilian, 70 years old and enjoying your fantastic recipes ! ❤
I’m from New Zealand! Must make that beautiful oats, apple and blueberry cake…yum!
This is definitely a winner recipe in my house. I modified it a bit by using bobs mill egg replacer for the 2 eggs /Bobs mill organic oatmeal /I replaced the sweetner with Monkfruit / I used olive oil instead of butter/ just used frozen blueberries. Since I am on a no sugar low fat no cholesteral diet and this will be a great healthy treat.😁😋. I am from Texas USA🤠 and we need good food like this.
You also could use Bananas, apple's puree for eggs replacement
I would use caution with being on a low fat diet, your brain and body need fat to function properly. Your brain is something like 70% cholesterol! Just stay away from bad oils (canola, soybean, safflower, sunflower, corn, peanut), and enjoy healthy fats from high fat grass-fed beef, avocado and avocado oil, olive oil, coconut and coconut oil. No you don't need to cut carbs out to be healthy, but cutting out fat doesn't do anything good for you
I’m going to do this thank you, I prefer with wild frozen blueberries they are smaller
Thank you!
@@annakirei6004 so you can use either apple purée or banana purée? Also what do you think would be a good ratio to replace the eggs??
Thank you for using cups and spoons measures. I will definitely make this cake.👍

I have just finished cooking my cake in the air fryer for 35 mins at 180. I covered the cake after 30 mins as I didn’t want it too dark on top. I also added 2 tablespoons of SR flour, pinch of salt, vanilla and teaspoon of cinnamon. Lovely!

It definitely looks doable and it will be worth counting the extra calories to have a lovely piece of proper cake! I’m in South Wales, UK. Greetings!x
You can use apple sauce instead of butter
Think about it though. Apple (sugar) instead of healthy fat (butter, what humans have eaten for hundreds of thousands of years with no health issues).

Perfect for breakfast. I might add protein powder to add to nutrition. If I didn't have blueberries, I'd add raisins & cinnamon. If I had only frozen berries, cut down on the water. Maybe flax seeds... ~Lots of options!! *Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦
If you add almond meal, that would raise the protein and flavor as well. If you can eat almonds that is.
@@pstill9618 Perfect. I have almond meal. Thanks!
It's probably good just as is, too! 😉
@@djondjon Yes, you're right! It definitely would be. I'm just thinking of how adaptable this recipe is to change up flavours & possible nutrition.
Mine is in the oven right now! My variation adds 1/4 cup flour to make it a bit more cake like, pumpkin pie spice, and a bit of cinnamon sugar on top. I use plant butter instead of dairy mostly for flavor. My “blue” fruits is a triple berry mix which is frozen so added last so the product doesn’t come out purple. It will be delicious I am sure! Thank you for this healthy alternative snack.
The flour and cinnamon sugar would help ~ I made this today and it tastes like crap. Hoping the neighbors dog will eat it.
Looks delicious , have to try it ! Canada
Благодаря за рецептата !
So I made this loaf the other day. I cooked it in a greased loaf pan for 55 minutes at 350F. When I inverted the pan to take the loaf out, it fell apart. Inside cooked but quite moist. My wife and I thought the loaf was a bit bland. Next time, I might put some cinnamon or lemon rind in it. Also, will put parchment paper in bottom of pan to try again. I'd like to have this recipe be a success as it is healthy, but I think it needs some tweaks.
This cake is delicious, and healthy for sure! I feel it needed a bit more sweetening, and I used raw sugar. I doubled the amount of sugar but found it still too bland so I spread some berry jam over it and it was SUPERB! Thank you, this makes a great breakfast or light lunch for my husband. Cheers!
That sounds good.
Looks delicious and healthy! USA

Wow! Love this. Don't know about the stevia though. I have never used it before. Thanks for making your recipe user friendly as in using ounces and cups.
Erythrotal and stevia are natural sugars I use them all the time, you could use honey but that then puts the calories up!
@@janicegame2372 I am going to use bananas because I am very allergic to stevia.
@@janicegame2372 It's true, I have 2 stevia plants growing on my porch. The leaves are very sweet
I get reactions with any of those sugars so I steer clear of any "fake" sugar. If you aren't counting calories, but still want it to be on the healthier side of usual treats, you could swap the water for apple juice; or as others have suggested in the comments you could put in some honey or maple syrup.
Avoid it if you've ever had kidney stones as it's high in oxalates.
What a lovely cake 👍😙
