"On the fifth day, he created college football. On the sixth day, he created the EMPIRE youtube channel. And on the seventh day, he rested"
For those curious, the worst college football team ever was probably the 1991 Prairie View A&M Panthers (FCS, then Division I-AA). They went 0-11, giving up an average of 56 PPG while only scoring 48 points all season. 8 of their opponents scored more than 48 points in their game against them, the worst being a 92-0 beatdown by Alabama State. They were shut-out 5 times, & their closest game was 23-6. Fun Fact: there is an ESPN Classic episode of "Who's #1" that names the '91 PVA&M football team as not only the worst college football team, but the worst sports team ever!
To make it even worse, one of those shutouts was 55-0 against Angelo State, a division II program
Cumberland Tech
Shoutout KTO
Hasn't Prarieview A & M actually won a conference title since all that?
@@dallaschamberlain97 tbf angelo state had more scholarships than pvamu had. Pvamu was basically a bad d3 team
Bad offense bad offense bad offense UMASS😂
Bro really said that 😂
You meant UM ASS lmao
Oh my goodness he's cooking again
back in the kitchen
Watching the FIU-Miami brawl live was surreal. The Clemson-USC brawl was the next day, too.
I was there and definitely egging on the players lol.
You should make a video on the unluckiest FBS teams. Not sure how you'd calculate this, but it'd be fun to watch
could just make the whole video about 2021 nebraska and call it a day
Haha, as a Nebraska fan that's why I suggested that, best 3-9 team OAT baby
"No good...the drama continues in Reno." Boise State vs Nevada, 2010
I would say injuries to stars is one
Probably the teams who lost the most games by the lowest margin. I.E. a team who went 2-10 but lost all 10 games by less than a touchdown
A deep dive into the USFL would be cool, it contains the greatest rushing season in pro football ever. Hershel Walker, 1985.
What was his stats
22:23 Fun Fact: Deestroying was apart of that 2015 UCF Squad. He even did a video talking about the experience of being on that team.
That's him kicking off at 22:40 I believe.
4:42 woof, I forgot how bad the blue turf was before HD TV.
Chattanooga mentioned 🎺🎺🎺💩💩💩😱😱🥳🥳 what the fuck is a Knoxville 🎉🎉🎉
Always nice to see Joe Swanson upload another vid. Great vid as always!
Here’s the Dana Dimel secret sauce: He looks like what an AD thinks a coach should look like. Boom
Hes also a very good and affable guy which can get you pretty far.
Love my Memphis tigers, so was expecting the 2010 Memphis team on there. I think that was the year they had less than 10 yards in punt returns for the entire season. So glad those days are long ago!
This top shelf zaza disrupted my circadian rhythm.
I’m so glad I stumbled upon this channel. Great videos!
2012 Southern Miss finished 0-12 after finishing 2011 12-2. It is the record for the worst year-to-year downturn in DI history. The Golden Eagles lost 23 straight before winning the finale in 2013
id watch an empire video about punters
Yes on god
Found empire’s wife
This is going to be years april fools video
So glad were getting more videos 🙌
Was so excited for a new upload I watched your video game related stuff, you deserve to have this channel blow up all your videos are quality
Stumbled on this channel. High quality stuff my.dude
So it’s probably a red flag that I use most of my resume to boast about my ties to Ohio, huh
depends, how high is your football IQ?
Eventually i’d like to see the FCS included in this aswell, mainly because I love the idea of this series a lot.
Love the vids keep it up!!
Great video however I do feel the need to point out that Lance Leopold went from directly from D3 to FBS and has done a pretty damn good job
I just wanna say, anyone who brings up 2023 Kent state, if you actually look into how much changed before that season(new coach, because deion sanders, only 3 returning starters, like 1/3 of our recruits decommit, like 15 transfers out) while yeah we sucked. The fact that people were shocked makes 0 sense
There he is!
2023 new Mexico lobos just disappointing. So we ran the coach out of Albuquerque and hired Virginia former coach bronco mandenhall
Keep up the great work man. Your channel might not have blown up yet but eventually your high quality content will get the attention it deserves.
What about a video on the best winless teams. Or worst undefeated team?
Aqua team show show..... that's all I hear with that intro music lol
Lol and I'm waiting on that 2 hour long, multi part series on the, objectionable, best college punters of all time... 😂😂
One of the first clips of the 2015 UCF team was Deestroying kicking off when he was in college lol
So happy to see SMU is back on the map
Makes me feel better about Ken- you know what, comparing the worst seasons of Group of 5 teans does not make me feel better about my SEC Wildcats
A punting video on the way? God bless this man
FIU mentioned again🔥
i wrote about the first worst team video in one of my admissions essays and got into my top school! thanks dude 👍🏽
Awesome vid! Subbed!
I was just hoping Tulane wasn't here. We were safe thankfully.
"It is perhaps the most perplexing coaching hire I've seen, and I'm a Florida fan." Feels.
No hate/love for 2002 FAMU, the one year FBS failure?
Another banger vid, don’t know if you take video ideas but CFB alternate history on what if Nick Saban died in the Kent State Massacre
So I knew he went to Kent State and obviously know about the massacre but somehow I never connected the two This is an outta left field idea for a vid but I support if
24:57 WESTERN CAROLINA MENTIONED 💯💯💯 Purgatory is real
The goat posted
When are we getting the second part to the UCF video
I was at the OU @ Tulsa game in 2002. It was a Friday night ESPN nationally televised game; OU was only up 3-0 at halftime. OU ended up covering the spread in the second half, but it was a weird game. I agree that Tulsa team wasn't one of the worst.
2013 Illinois mentioned... Yeah, I don't wanna remember the Beckman era
Just to note: In 2000 UL Monroe weren’t the Warhawks they were still called the Indians, the NCAA strong armed them and other teams (except Florida State who got permission from the Seminole tribe) to change their mascots and most of those teams went with lazy names like Warhawks or RedHawks.
2020 grinnell college… I was on that team, look us up
I am both relieved and surprised that my Western Michigan broncos aren’t on this list, specifically with their 2013 season with their only win being against UMass. I mean I’ll take it but that was a DARK time
You need a patreon bro I’ll sub right away
I go to Ohio University and 2023’s Kent State’s punter got benched during the game against us. We had a field day in the student section
Im all in on a feature length program on the best cfb punters of all time
I lived through that Akron 2019 season going in my senior year Absolute misery
You are my everything
Im still not sure if this is Jon Bois' secret channel... similar cadence and sounds like a pitch shift... hmmm
I’m a proud Temple University Alumni & we had some good runs including an AAC championship in the legit “power 6” days on the conference in ‘16. But Temple is headed in a bad direction since the NIL especially. And if you go back to the 90s when for some god forsaken reason the Owls were in the then very competitive Big East & we’re boat raced by every program in that conference. I’m sure there is a 90s or 2000s Temple football team that could be in the running for worst of all time.
Too bad you didn't go back to the 70's when TCU delivered 1-10, 1-10, 0-11 seasons 74-76. They owned the NCAA longest losing streak TWICE in 4 years.
Please don’t tell me that TCU didn’t have a coaching tenure similar to 3-36-1 during that time
If he went back even further, he’d fine the only correct answer, Cumberland Tech from 1916.
For division III football it would be my Alma Mater, Earlham College. We went three seasons winless in the easiest division in all levels of college football, and then they just shuttered the program for good.
Hearing Larry Williams name again makes me sick. What he did against my Zips is a criminal offense
If I had to say, this man is under 30 years of age.
12:12 i felt that in my soul
I just want to say one thing, and one thing only ULM Mentioned!
CAL POLY MENTIONED RAHHHH If you ever did this and included FCS I can almost guarantee you a couple of Cal Poly teams would be on there they have been abysmal since joining Division 1
Now you need to go even deeper to FCS and D2. There are some AWFUL stretches
2008 Washington Huskies vs Washington State cougars both 0-10 going into the Apple Cup, which turned out to be an actually entertaining game. I'm a fan of neither team, but my dad said we have to watch this game both teams suck.
Umass have been the absolute pits since I started watching college football. Can't wait to build those suckers in NCAA 24
Leave my Golden Panthers alone 😂😂😂 talk about our Soccer team or School of Business
Love the video but our family are athletic donors to UNC Charlotte athletics and I’ve seen horrible football teams and I’m surprised to not see the niners on here.
The worst performing college football team ever would be the statistically worst performing division 3 school ever because you are facing the worst opposition skill wise and you STILL perform the worst out of literally every single school ever at your division.
1991 prarie view a and m might be worse than all of them despite being d1.
@@Yossarianstregret-gp2cd eh do you think that in a hypothetical game between that team and whoever the statistically worst performing D3 school ever is that the prarie view team would win or do you think the D3 school would win?
I mean with shit d1 schools you can at least make the argument that they are (mostly) playing against good teams skill wise and they may go winless and lose some games that they are expected to win maybe against D2 and D3 schools but we are talking about an entire season here not one game and in the case of shit D3 schools well most of your games are going to be against other D3 schools which aren't exactly the greatest schools ever skill wise you do have a fair point however
@@destroyer20248 the d3 school would have a legit shot considering that pvamu was getting blown out by naia and d2 opponents
@@Yossarianstregret-gp2cd fair enough
You should combine all the scores from each year to see the best and worst team through all years in the sample.
Saw Akron 2019 on this list and had to do a double take. My brother-in-law was on the coaching staff for Akron in 2020 lmao
What's your intro music? It's fire
I knew the 2000 Wyoming squad was going to be on here. I lived in Laramie at the time and got to watch those games live! ...Still don't know how I stayed a fan of the Cowboys. Vic Koenning's entire tenure should have gone on here. Even by Wyoming Cowboys standards, that man was a joke of a head coach.
Re: Akron 2019: I'm surprised you didn't mention that it is possible to jump from D3 to FBS as I'd consider Lance Leopold to have done well both at Buffalo and Kansas. It's not a bjg deal but I figure this comment would be a worthy offering for Lord Algorithm 😁
As a UTEP Miner fan myself, I'm so glad we fired that clown. I was fed up with him but I think with our new HC, we could go somewhere?
very surprised none of the Chris Ash Rutgers teams made this list
26:01 UrinatingTree in shambles
I wonder what the worst bowl eligible and worst bowl ineligible teams are? 🤔
I wonder what the best FCS school ever was. Like programs that went undefeated against FBS schools while wrecking everyone to win the title(if they exist)
North Dakota State would come close in the mid-2010s
Woah, hold on there. For a bit the Wyoming team changed from the 2000 team to the 2016 one. I was like, "Wait...didn't we play in the conference championship that year, and have Josh Allen? Bad offense in 2016?" I think it was just an error though.
Damn, the shamecocks were just one season away from topping the list with their nations longest losing streak being snapped in 2000 going 8-4. I was really looking forward to them being shat upon.
I remember that 2019 zips team. An absolute disgrace to football for a frankly disgraceful college.
Hey man could you (or anyone else in the comments) explain the Strength of Schedule metric to me? For fun I've been trying to use the Formula on my Utah teams to compare them, and I've been able to figure out everything else. But strength of schedule has been super confusing because in the best team video 2007 LSU had a strength of schedule metric of like 0.32 but my teams have been having like 1.7 or something so I think I'm calculating it wrong. If you ever see this I'd love some clarification, thanks! Love the vids tho they're awesome
I'm sorry Florida A&M spent a year in FBS!?!?
Yes, they tried to transition up and failed.
I thought Rutgers was the worst team ever
Sun belt on the come up!!
I gotta ask what the 2019 UMass rating was. Game between them and Akron had to have the lowest combined ratings of any game ever.
As a fan of MAC football I’m not surprised at Akron being one of the worst 5 teams of the 21st century…I am shocked they didn’t show up more on here(I was expecting 4+ times) they’ve consistently been one of if not the worst team in the MAC.
1916 Cumberland College will forever hold the distinction of the worst team ever. .000 win % with an average margin of defeat of 222 points
ULM mentioned!
Dude how do you not have 500k
Nah, 2023 Northern Michigan is the worst College Football team of the 21st century.
Make a biggest "you blew it" teams. Teams that were going great and lost a game that derailed their season or title game hopes
no solely because it'd mean I have to rewatch the shoe throw again
Insane how Jacksonville University wasn’t mentioned a single time
Ever heard of the Thiel Tomcats
It has to be the 1916 Cumberland team
Babe wake up EMPIRE just dropped a new vid
the gt7 music is funny
It's Prairie View and it's not even close.
That Army Nave game, isn’t that technically a post season game?
It’s special for sure, but no, just regular season.
