Discovery 3's and Discovery 4's tackle some of the gnarly lines of the infamous Mt Walker Lithgow NSW.

Good to see standard D3s and D4s doing what the manufacturer says they can!
That traction control gizmo is just brilliant!!!1
Fantastic, as always, thanks for the effort in editing and posting these vids
Great videos!!
Love the discovery whith the sparewheel on the back, nice
Another awesome video.
Lockers? Nice vid. Thanks for your efforts :)
Very nice! Will have to do it myself one day.
Nice work 👍
I'll be damned... Didn't know you folks were on AULRO. Should have guessed I supposed.
Hey guys awesome video as always, been subscribed for a while now and love watching to get ideas for our 1:10 scale 4x4's in terms of the terrain. Well done!
Black Betty :.( awesone video!
Brilliant footage indeed. I wonder how my Disco 3 would get on doing that with it's twin lockers.
very well done
Wow.. The Discos are very capable 4wd''s! Didnt expect them to do so well.. in pretty tough conditions! New respect or the Land Rover Disco!
Lone Ranger Modified suspension no doubt but still super capable. Landies have always been great off roaders.. they just aren't the most reliable..
akaSkItTLes23 I don't see modded suspensions, maybe a rod lift or software lift, but I wouldn't call that modified
+akaSkItTLes23 no mods at all besides rock sliders and ball bars
WOW thats some tough going. The Discos seems to do it well with such a lack of wheel travel but the Traction controls seems to almost compensate better for it. great vid guys!
The traction control, particularly on the D4's is amazing. I've seen D4's on highway rubber do things that other vehicles with lift kits mud tyres and lockers struggle with.
Misadventure 4WD I've seen my D3 do it on highway rubber as well ;)
Misadventure 4WD are there any difference each other D3 and D4 for traction control ?
ypekmez2 I believe the D4 has better software to cope, and some upgrades, but nothing too major
Fantastic, thanks.
Looks like a great trip. They got a good video of it too. Guess some had a few dents on the underside.
Great video, the best 4x4... What kind of wheel use Disco 3 on 2:48?
Tough going, very well done, very capable 4wd, no wonder land rover has claimed so many world awards. to bad for black betty
Nice video, but where is the footage from the last section to the trig & lookout ? Obviously not many got up there ;)
What tyres are the D4s equipped with?
Hi! Very nice driving! I too have a 2005 Disco3 TDV6. I am looking to get some off road wheels for it. Could you tell me what size tires and rims "Terry in the mighty D3 " had? Any other size recomandations? Thanks!
Never took my Disco 3 offroad like you did it, i`m always scared that the electronic will breakdown in the middle of nowhere. :D What problems had the Range Rover Sport? CV? Regards from Germany
ESTA ES UNA EXELENTE ACTIVIDAD
where did you buy that rear tire mount for the lr3, any website that has one would be awesome thanks
Love it. So Bloody jealous. Love to have the watagans in my backyard. Was there much left of the red tritons rear bumper? Oh and great to see the ghost out for a haunt.
Not sure how your comment ended up on this vid Mike - I think you're talking about the Breakfree day out. The Triton is a tough bit of kit and had no probs.
Superb driving skills and excellent photography. Are these vehicles diesel powered or petrol powered? Performance wise are LR3's and LR4's better than Range Rover Sport in such terrain? Do you reduce the tire pressure? Do you have diff locks in both front and rear wheels? Have you lifted your LR3's and LR4's or are they stock? What will be your advise to buy LR3 or LR4 in petrol version. Thanks for posting adrenaline pouring videos on KZhead.
Mostly diesel, I don't think that there would be much difference between the D3/ D4 to the RRS. Yes we did reduce tyre pressures, I ran 24psi. Most of the cars only had Traction control, some had the factory eDiff, no dedicated lockers though. We use either LLAMS www.llams.com.au/ or Rods for additional lift. A petrol is fine, pick is the V8 of the 2.
100
This is impressive...I do wonder why land rover has not re engineered LM4 as a commercial vehicle and called it a defender ?
i own a Disco4 and love your videos. I was just wondering if you are sponsored some how by Land Rover. also, i take my Dosco4 offroad just once every few months and there is always some thing wrong with my car. i was wondering how much you guys spend on repairs with this sort of extreme offroading. or it is just my luck that mine is a lemon...
If you have your Disco 3/4 serviced and maintained by the Land Rover agents and you use only genuine parts then you will experience excellent reliability and you will rarely get disappointed.
How many of the D3 and D4s have the Rear Active locker.Would it have made a difference in their climbing ability. Great Video
only a few on this trip had the e-locker.
G'day Jamie, just wondering if you have found a replacement for Monty yet, and hope Black Betty is up and running again.
Hi, I own D3 and recently spent a week on Fraser and found the spare tyre situation a tad frustrating, would love to know where ATL 847 got there rear tyre carrier and Hayman Reece tow hitch from?
probably best to ask on AURLO.com as all the drivers from this weekend are members there. You'll likely get a range of options.
How many were running with a lift (Johnson Rod or other method) or bigger tires?
around half
What size tyres is Terry running on that D3 ? I'm going down to 17's (from 18's) with higher profile tyres for better better soft sand performance, but am restricted by the spare size (unless I remove the heat shields and deflate the tyre to around 10psi.
I'll check with him Dizzy when I speak to him next
What sort of damage can a disco owner expect to his or her car after a trip like this ?
Andrew D Well... Let me tell you Pop a hole through your centre AC lines if you don't have rock sliders. Ding your doors and fenders Destroy your Fan belt tensioner driving through 4 feet of murky sh*tty water and consequently have to replace the belt as well. Honestly though, as long as you fix it yourself you'll be fine. Nothing that wouldn't happen on any other truck.
+Andrew D good call.
Do you use diferncial locking? If so, which brand?
ashcroft in the defender. Harrop e-locker in the RRS
bloody hell! nope nope nope.. I am not doing that to my rover
very very impressive traction control but very small wheel travel was disappointment.
Wonder how my Amarok would go on that track....
rottysaurus have a go and post the video, everyone would like to see. id also like a ranger and hilux etc in there
I'd love to take on the challenge but I've since sold the Amarok and upgraded to a 200 series Cruiser....
too bad the Landrover doesn't have a diesel in the States. I'm stuck with the shitty 4.0 Buick engine.
I thought the V8 petrols on disco3 & 4 are jaguar. Where I'm from the V8's are all jaguar engine, best in class.
+cobus venter the 4.0 is the Ford petrol V6
