Izzy won that first fight they robbed him by decision.
4-0 is worse bc the first is disputed and the last fight was Izzy’s up until he got rocked off his socks.
0-4 not 4-0

@@gnarrcan108 tbh second was the same. Izzy is definitely more skilled on the whole, pereira’s just got that insane power in his left hook
Alex should try capture every title from middleweight to heavyweight that would be fun
He's not beating khamzat, Covington would break him too along with any other half way decent wrestler. Guys over rated as fuck and he's not going to have that belt long
Truly wud love to see Alex vs Francis, two dudes both with hands of stone
@@adamguzzo94 Covington? Bro Covington got pieced up by Usman, people are talking about it’s unfair Alex has the type of power he has against Izzy nevermind what he would do to Covingtons. Yes there’s always a grapplers advantage but they have to get it there first until then they best not let him connect. Overrated is a huge reach, you may not have seen him much in mma but man’s one of the great kick-boxers and if he lands on anyone you just mentioned they aren’t getting back up. He made Izzy looks small now think about him vs Khazmat or anyone else you wanna throw in there
@@mandlenkosindhlovu8124 Usman also has some degree of takedown defense, Alex looked like a 7 year old with Izzy and Izzy isn't some grappling protege. I think he gets taken down immediately, sat on and punched into a hole or strangled. He's going to be helpless against a high level guy like Colby cause once he hits the ground he's not getting back up
@@adamguzzo94 Alex only got taken down when he tried to trip Izzy and off-balanced himself so Izzy capitalized and took him down off a body lock. Watch that fight again and that was the only takedown landed on Alex in the entire fight. He's not a grappler but his takedown defense is solid and his size makes it even harder to take him down.
We all gonna ignore that sean is bigger than everyone in his weight class too?
Him and sandhagen are like the tallest in the division i think

He's tall, but is he walking around at a significantly heavier weight than the weight class he's in? Genuine question - I don't know.
Alex is more durable than Izzy.... Izzy is elite fought the perfect fight. Alex just a dog doesnt stop
He's also a hell of a bigger.
if he fought a perfect fight he would have won without taking 1 single shot. you should learn english before you type.
I feel like its just a size thing, Izzy got mad unlucky.
They are both durable though and although Izzy is technically better imo, (although Alex is very good of course) Alex is way bigger and just hits a helluva lot harder lol and great power is often a game changer no doubt
That was so impressive how quickly he build so much muscles.
I just came back to this and these boys must have had a Dolorian.
Bro, Jon Jones fought at LHW and weighed around 230 on fight night.... Stipe weighed in at 235 in his last fight vs Ngannou.
When did he fight
@@rayyanabdulwajid7681 back in the day, when he fought at 205.

yeah he didnt fight at MW
And? DC was a literal heavyweight who went down so he didn't have to compete with Cain. Gustafson walked around at 237ish. Anthony Rumble walked around at 250ish. Dominick Reyes walked around at 240ish. Your point is one of the smaller heavyweights doesn't have to cut weight to make his weight class? Uh most of them don't. Find someone else to use as an example.
I never see Alex that big from the last fights, he was well prepared.
O'Malley talking about being too big for your weightclass.....oh the irony
Almost everyone but colby is too big for their weightclass

Nah not Jones. gane would be a good fight and a fight for the ages. Both elite kickboxers. No grappling just out raw beautiful kickboxing from Pereira and Gane.
I was just thinking Alex vs Cyril would be such a sick fight. Alex is massive so he could easily make weight.
You're a genius
Cyril would merk him
Cyril is on a different level. I think he works everybody in that division including Jon jones
Bro what?? The size difference is still massive. Getting to thay weight would definitely effect alexs speed and endurance if he can even get to that weight
Cyril is too much used to it. Let him first fight another hw.

@@oscarkofoed534 Jesus Christ, I bet you're so fun to be around.
if there's anything we've learned it's that there is a big difference between being a great grappler and having a high level BJJ belt. you have to have a way of getting your opponent to the ground and creating the positions you are strong in. Paul Craig and Glover are the best examples of the two.
Imagine a fight between Gane vs Pereira. Super technical kickboxing fight

I've been a fan of Izzy for years and followed him a long time. Wasn't to sure what to think of Alex before their ufc title fight, all I knew of Alex were the highlights of his two earlier wins. Got alot of respect for Alex now, he carries himself so well. He doesn't talk loud shit, has humility, speaks with facts but also respectfully and pays Homage to his indigenous roots. I know Izzy almost had him and ten more seconds in that round and he woulda shoulda coulda blah blah blah in all honesty Alex won pure and simple. Hope to see a rematch sooner rather than later but if not Alex is a Champ worth getting behind Long live the King
“Those toes have seen hell.”😂 -Joe Rogan
When your entire sport needs a rehydration clause
Izzy has to just go straight back into it. He was so close to beating him, he has nothing to be ashamed of. These ufc fighters aren’t like boxers, they’re not afraid of rolling the dice.
Joe reacting alex roar is why I love listening to him..he is the best
Usually Izzy has the size advantage at 185 and uses it well. He met his match in Alex Pereira.
only height advantage , he never out weighed nobody . izzy true middle weight king . alex is clearly a heavyweight , it takes a heavyweight to beat izzy .
@@tbenjamin8348 , height and reach advantage was huge for him.The long legs and arms kept everyone at bay. He couldn't do that to Alex . Jon Jones is gonna run into the same problem at heavyweight. Guys his size.

I wonder why more people aren’t talking about the potential of Procházka vs Pereira fight. If it were to happen; Two of the most elite strikers in the UFC would try to prove who’s fighting style is best. Personally, I think this would be a fantastic fight to watch, they’re about the same size too.
Prochaszka will maul Alex simple.
@@longjidalu3845 nah
Jiri's shoulder is jacked, I wouldn't expect him back anytime soon. But Pereira has a very very good chance of taking LHW gold if he wanted to. I don't see Jamahal, Glover, or any other LHW giving him that much trouble.

Jiri takes him down and TKOs him r1

Those are Spanish lineage not Native lineage.. You must be fucking kidding to give credit to not beard growing genetics..
Literally same thing goes for Sean. He’s way to big for his division that’s why he’s good
Izzy needs to put a f**kin Coby like pace on him and just accept the fact that he could get his lights put out by that left hand. Take downs and ground and pound. Alex has never been taken to the deep end.
Alex actually avenged Glover by beating Jiri and Jamal hill
I gotta say, that was pretty astute. O'Malley is a great guest to have for a conversation on the art of fighting.
Damn near every champ who lost his title this year was winning the right for 99% and then just lost at the end. Just off the top of my head you've got Glover izzy and Usman all 3 lost their title after winning on the cards all fight long
Glover wasn't even winning 99%, he was ahead but it was a back and forth fight with both having dominant moments
@@Suplex479 idk to me it felt like a strong 85% or more lol
@@rebelscumcustomsweathering5584 I remember one round where Jiri was on top the entire time ground and pounding, if Glover haven't received him and landed a bit at the last second it could've been a 10-8, also Jiri was winning the majority of the striking, I'll have to rewatch it, no complaining, it's a great fight
Imagine if a few months from this conversation, Izzy avenges his UFC loss to Alex. And Glover loses to Hill, then Alex wins against current LHW champ Jiri, and becomes 2 div champ. LOL I'm from the future 😅
Izzy has been fighting midgets in his division for so long and no one has said anything. He loses to a guy who is maybe an inch taller and everybody is talking about it
Yea, its okay when Adesanya abuses his size against Rob, but its not okay when Pereira does that And size difference between Adesanya and Rob is much bigger than the size difference between him and Pereira
@@grgov2239 lmao no. Why do you think boxing has weight classes. Question for you. If we were able to pin mike tyson against Floyd mayweather who do you think wins? When Perreira is happy, Perreira roars
I'd like to see Rakmhonov and Periera go at it some day. Or even Khamzat Chimaev against either one of these two.
Periera is way too big for Rakhmonov
I think Dana should've jumped all over a fight between him and Aspinal. But when I think about it he's got a light heavyweight star and a heavyweight star. Why take a chance on dinging one? That win of Izzy's over this guy was a master class of tactics and guts. Love him or hate him you have to give it to him. He had to take damage to set that trap. That was gutsy.
Im from 🇬🇧 im around 13 stone or just over n im 83kg to to think hes nearly 100kg before cutting weight n he still looks good not too drawn in is crazy 😳
Andrew Garfield has more tattoos than I thought
well said pereira is definitely unique, his fighting is very primal
Alex is 6 foot 9 and cuts 120 lbs to make MW. It's bs. 😂😂
wrestle and benefit from his hurting cardio due to the big weight cut
6 foot 13?
How is it bs when he makes weight lol
We have seen way crazier weight cuts tho. Everybody seems to forget Rumble is an actual big 205er Alex is a smaller 205er and Rumble fought in 170 before
Weigh Inns should be 5 minutes before the fight. It's just not fair for the natural fighters, who keep the same weight and the opponent rehydrates an extra 20 lbs.
Both fighters have the same opportunity to cut weight.
@@nathanielpatterson6963 izzy cuts like 8 pounds Pereira cuts like 30+
@@rickygervaissgyno4081 Good for them? The amount they choose to cut doesn't mean they didn't have the same opportunity to cut more. Izzy could fight at a lower weight.
@Charizard That's that fighters choice though. He can either fight at his natural weight class and have full energy, not be dehydrated, etc. Or they can cut an unhealthy amount of weight just to have a slight size advantage. I would agree that it's unhealthy to cut that much weight. Currently they let the fighter make that choice though.
@Charizard I fear if weigh ins were directly before the fight, wouldn't some fighters still cut weight? They would just be fighting dehydrated which would be even more dangerous.

I thought the R had an “H” sound in Portuguese though.
He indeed did go up to become a double champ
Joe making out Whittaker is British with that impression 🤣
Jason wilnis is actually 2-1 against perreira and 1-0 against izzy
Saying it like that is misleading, he fought Wilnis when he was very young in the sport, he avenged the losses to Wilnis a few years later during his title reign and absolutely annihilated him!! Alex also beat Marcus twice during that time, someone who himself beat Wilnis AND Izzy... It's clear to be who the top dog is here😉

It doesn’t seem fair to me that on fight day the guy weighs 220 pounds and you’re weighing 195 that’s 35 pounds difference.
Yeah man that's ridiculous. I'm all for people cutting weight and then putting some back on at fight day. But it's practically cheating to have such a massive difference.
Matt Hughes used to go in 190, as did GSP. BJ Penn, who fought both went in 175. No one was complaining about that
Alex is irl pickle from Baki
This made me realize Izzy wasn’t fighting a fair fight. And the Ufc has some issues
Izzy already cleared his entire division, so he was well aware that Pereira was next.
I think Jiri though Jiri is something else, it'd be a very very dope match up
If Izzy wants the money, he should go for the rematch right away. That's risky though.
Super risky. If he loses it wouldn’t be the first time a dominant champion lost the rematch but I. This scenario the whole world knows it’s 3-0 Powatan. I think he should let Alex defend the belt against another fighter and take the time to tighten up his game plan for a rematch down the line. But what the hell do I know

Dude should fight at LHW simple. Cutting too much weight will take a toll later in life.
He’ll move up eventually
He has fought at 185 for the majority of his carrer, he wouldnt have if there were any problems in cutting weight. 0 fights he missed weight, now compare him to khabib who had to pull out of many fights couse he was on a brink of death everytime he cut to 155 but nobody is talking about that. @@arturniedzwiecki2024 that was true during his glory kickboxing career when he was skinnier. He's massive now, he definitely has the muscle of a LHW now in the UFC. Just see him next to reyes, he out muscles reyes, who isn't a small LHW. (not to mention, he was the 205 champ at glory)

I love that these are 2 fight fans talking with passion about this art. You have to stop and actually put thought into the fact that this is a 55 year old man talking to a 28 year old. I don’t know why I find that so interesting but I do. I guess in almost every other conversation both sides are trying to prove something, like you expect the older man try show off his experience or knowledge and the younger man could be tempted to challenge that and want to be on equal ground as far as exp and knowledge but none of that is there, just genuine passion for the sport and I love it
Pereira is pickle from Baki
Sean insisting on the rematch is rich
They make me think this is Baki and they’re talking about Pickle
I wish the UFC would do away with extreme weight cutting. There’s no truth in PFP and weight classes. It’s unsafe for the fighters and it’s a joke.
