Whats Jesse Eisenberg looking so hopeful for? He couldint act his way out of a burst Condom.
Agree
Colin Firth is literally the phrase "Manners maketh man" incarnate.
*make
It’s a Kingsman reference.
Маршал Жуков , maketh is correct in the quote Trixie has used. Maketh is the old 3rd person present form of make. Nowadays, it would be written something like: 'Manners make us human.

Possibly one of the best acceptance speeches ever.
He should have stuttered like his role ...
@@malawigw Yeah, no.. Why would he do that? Everyone knows he doesn't stutter, so what good would it do, really?
I think that he was suffering with a stutter, after playing the role because he was doing the award for so long, and he struggled with doing one of his speeches. Someone mentioned something like that in the director’s commentary for A King’s Speech .
Is this comment really on every oscar video ever
Absolutely a great acceptance speech except for when he mentioned the hideous monster Mr W
No one is more deserving for an award like our Mr Darcy. Colin was, is and will always my favourite.

Now THAT'S how to do an acceptance speech at the Oscars. Pure class. Makes you proud to be English.
Bloody Brits He's the real deal through and through.
👏👏❤
I do want to remember anyone here that he was born in Grayshott, England then he pretty quickly moved to Nigeria where he lived with his family but then, at the age of 11, he moved to St.Louis , Missouri and there he has lived along these years...so in my opinion he isn’t a “British gentleman” but instead, a more “cosmopolitan” personality...i do see by far more education than etichett...
English and British are two separate things.
Hey, my friend in the summer of 1991 terrified him outside stage door at the Comedy Theatre whilst he was in the Caretaker. I was mortified but my chums were so aggressive for a photo that he looked like a deer in the headlights. My friend who played the girl that got the engagement ring in the 6th Sense and I could not stop laughing at the absurdity of fandom. I felt badly for the man.

My brothers going to Colin’s old college, the teachers still admire and support him, even if he left the school 30-40 years ago. Congratulations to him.
He should have won the Oscar for A Single Man, too. Colin Firth is a national treasure to Great Britain.
***** Certainly! A Single Man is a brilliant film about the suffering of a man after losing his loved one and my appreciation has nothing to do with the character being gay or not, it has to do with the magnificent acting.
+Tamarix It was Jeff's turn, he had never won an oscar, which was totally unfair. Besides, his performance in Crazy Heart more than deserved it.

I don't think anyone even stood a chance against colin that year. His performance in the king's speech was remarkable which earned him the SAG, the Golden Globe, the BAFTA, the critics choice award and now the Oscar.
He actually lost the Golden Globe to Eisenberg but yeah he was good. I thought Franco was just as good though
MrMRCTV Nope, Colin won the globe as well and i don't really think james Franco had a shot at this oscar. If this oscar had gone to anyone other than colin it would have been a huge surprise.
Josef Hautala Yeah I realized that the second I wrote the comment XD My mistake.
Josef Hautala Yeah man, my favorites that year were Firth and Franco. Both performances drew me in and made me cry.
Nothing to add- and by the way Sandra Bullock is priceless! No seriously, I've always felt this way and I still do and I'll keep on posting this: - sorry guys - but the intire film is such a masterpiece including everyone who worked on it and Colin Firth was the outstanding one!! Sure each of these gentlemen deserved to win, just like every year. Some fans always get disappointed and probably we should always be sorry for the four guys who missed their chance (if we forget that good acting is not just about winning statues for these men), but we gotta be fair. Eventhough this might had been Eisenberg's only chance ever to win the statue or it could have been Franco's once in a lifetime honor for his actual acting talent, since he got the best role of his career so far with 127 Hours...but in the end Firth stole it with his remarkable portray of King Georg VI! Very deserved, Congratulations!!
People, that’s British humour for you delivered in style and covered in quite a thick batter of humility. Great speech Colin and a well deserved win.
Such a blessing of a human being, he doesn’t deserve all the heartbreak and unluckiness in love but he deserves all the oscars and best actor awards and definitely an award for being the literal definition of a gentleman. He’s going into them history books, even has his own wax figure and u know you’ve hit it big when u get your own wax figure in a museum.
Colin Firth is such a humble man. He desserves all the praise and may he continue to be as succesful and blessed as he's always been.
+Hexiel154.1 And his portrayal of George VI, the humblest of British Kings, was spot on.
@Hexiel154.1 Colin Firth is the soul of the perfect English gentleman. Nothing more to say!
After watching the movie again it's quite strange to hear Colin Firth speak without stammering. Just shows how incredible an actor he is.
When it cut to Harvey Weinstein, I was only a little bit sick in my mouth
I wanted to throw up.

+khoa pham you're right! he'd a be a great 007
+khoa pham I'd prefer Tom Hardy as the next 007.
+khoa pham Have to say that Colin is a bit too mature for Bond (no diss as I'm the same age). Bond is a very physical role, which is probably why Pierce Brosnan left the genre and Daniel Craig is leaving it was well.
Charlie Hunnam is too blonde for bond! I can't see charlie in any other role other than Jax Teller :( miss that show so much! I think if Tom Hardy can get a cool classy haircut then he'd be great for Bond XD
+khoa pham kingsman is better than 007!
“Manners. Maketh. Man.”
Colin Firth was simply outstanding as was his acceptance.
His such a natural charmer
Doglover a gentleman
After watching King's Speech, Firth deserved it. Yes, Eisenberg was AMAZING as Mark Zuckerberg. But I'm sorry, Firth completely captured the anxiety and fears of King George! Every single time he stutters, from the very first scene, it completely tugs on you, and especially to those who hate giving presentations and speeches!
I've never had a problem making public presentations, but this film gave me souch sympathy for those who do. Perhaps even more remarkable a feat.

@StuntmanJules how would you know, are you the victim?
They're thanking Weinstein only because they are forced by a contract to thank him. He's only an executive producer in the movies - he only pays for them and can give certain actors leading roles, and in return they are obliged to "thank him" in their speeches. That's how the film industry works.
