    • I honestly felt that Meryl should have won over Sandra that year. Meryl’s performance in Julie and Julie was the best out of the 5 and Sandra would have taken Best Actress for Gravity if she haven’t already won for The Blind Side. It should have been Meryl in 2009, Viola Davis in The Help in 2011, and Sandra Bullock in 2013 in my opinion.

She was a cheerleader there and was heavily involved in the drama club, which my dad was also a part of as well. I just wanted to give some interesting info of how someone you know can grow up to become a huge Oscar-winning celebrity. I’m sorry some of you think I’m lying. Why is it so hard to believe something as simple as a person attending school with my family member before they became famous? My dad wasn’t friends with her personally; he happened to attend school with her and took notice of her sweet, genuine, good-natured personality whenever they shared a class. He doesn’t think they even spoke to each other, but I still wanted to share that here

  • When she said, "the moms who take care of their babies, no matter where they come from". I broke down, got so emotional. The movie, the story itself was an intense and emotional rollercoaster. I loved everything about the film the Tuhoy family, Sandra Bullock 😍 The most amazing thing about the character Leigh Anne was that she was unapologetic about her away of doing things, and I loved that fierceness, boldness. She knows she is doing right, and she is going to do it by any cost and she was so kind, people like her are rare to find and she doesn't make a big deal about being kind cause that's normal, Kindess shouldn't be a rare thing, it should be normalised. I loved loved blind side. This was a very heart-wrenching film, indeed.

It's like when Julia Roberts or Jennifer Lawrence won. The Oscars has become a very "Top 40" mainstream popularity contest instead of truly celebrating the best acting performances. Their spirit shows how, who lend a hand, teaching someone to read, many artists named a person who was so instrumental in their beginning One example is Sidney Portier, who came to our shores from the Caribbean and was taught how to read, how to speak by a waiter in a times square restaurant during the early '50s. Sean Connery has a similar story about someone who aided their ascent into the performing arts.

  • Sandra wasn't a superb actress back in the day but now she's phenomenal. She did a great job in this movie. I'm glad she won the award. Sandra was even better in 'Gravity'

    • Her performance in Gravity was a little bit flat, but her performance in The Blind Side was very good. For me, it's her most iconic role, and the way she opens Leigh Ann up is spectacular. Maybe it is not a tour de forcé, but it was excellent!

    • Her performance in Gravity is way better than The Blind Side. Way better. Also Alfanso directed it. She should not have an Oscar. Only nominations.

  • Sandra Bullock, very elegantly done speech. She’s a very endearing person.
