  • Landing is soo important. Before covid I was playing vball 3-4 times a week and I wasn’t doing anything to land safely. Started feeling some pain in my right knee but I ignored it for a few months until i couldn’t jump without feeling a stab-like pain. Turns out I had patellar tendinitis so I had to rest for about 2 months while taking antiflammatory meds and icing a lot. Knees feel like new now but I’m definitely gonna make sure to be landing more safely!

  • Woah, this is just what I needed! I also want to just say thank you because I've been watching your videos for years now and you don't know how much they've helped me- I decided to start volleyball a few summers ago and I barely knew anything, but I started binging your videos and practiced with them (tbh, your videos helped more than some of my coaches;;;). I made the team that year and now, I'm going to try out for varsity. So thank you so much!!! (Also, can you make a video on how to push sets out further? that's my biggest problem as a setter because I cant set far and also when the ball comes down at me from really high, I find it tough to set... do you have any exercises to fix this?)

    @a.a.o772@a.a.o7723 жыл бұрын
    • Yeah, i have that problem with setting too!! I suggest trying to bend your arms a little when the ball comes to you. And maybe bend your knees a little

  • Yo when males are 16 (roughly) the tendons in the legs tighten which is why some people get a random boost of athleticism - especially after a growth spurt. However this hasn't happened for me yet, meaning I cant jump as high as I should and my tendons absorb too much shock causing faster fatiguing about 2x faster. I was able to, at my peak, get my hand over the rim so about 8''. I'm currently 19 and around 6' or 5'11

  • Hi Coach. I think I've got everything down besides the penultimate step. Whenever I try to go for it even when accelerating, it slows me down and I can't get the long, straight leg like shown at 3:20. Are there any tips you could possibly give me to improve my penultimate step?

    @ProdTixtape@ProdTixtape3 жыл бұрын
    • If you're right handed, start with your left leg forward and go straight into your penultimate for reps. It will force you to actually push off with that leg with power which is what im guessing is your problem. Make sure to set a goal to reach.

      @yourmother5810@yourmother58102 жыл бұрын
    • If you find that you can't get enough power on that step in your regular hitting approach, then you are accelerating too quickly. It's the step right before your penultimate so it should be the hardest one.

    @Abby-pe2dc@Abby-pe2dc3 жыл бұрын
    • Honestly this depends on your body type and to a degree your age. Generally the younger you are you focus on moderate power and train the speed/fast twitch. The older you get the more your body will naturally slow down so you have to worry about more power. Early to mid 20’s I’d say speed after that power or a combo of the 2
